i don't know how to edit the current list, but i was accepted to Ohio University yesterday....WOOOOHOOOOO! it is my first choice so i cancelled my interviews at AZCOM, KCOM, CCOM, and DMU.....i have one at NOVA on Nov. 15th.....does anyone have any comments to help me make up my mind as to whether i should go see NOVA or not?

I LOVED OUCOM and i'm from Ohio, but my girlfriend likes warm weather and has friends in Miami.....however, NOVA is so much more expensive! (that's why i'm not going to AZCOM or CCOM)...i'm not going to KCOM or DMU 'cause i don't think i would want to live in either of those places over Ohio......

Suggestions....comments?

oops....i forgot to mention when i interviewed......10/29 (they e-mailed me the next day) and OUCOM is an AWESOME school and the people there are great!

in response to your question jpinsky - definitely go to nova. It is by far the best place I have interviewed at (allopathic and osteopathic) in both facilities, friendliness of the students, and willingness of the faculty to provide the best for their students. I went to the interview just thinking i was going there for practice for other interviews and came out of it placing it as my #1.

I don't know much about NOVA...but Ohio U is an awesome school congratulations!!!

I just received an interview invite to OU!!! I'm pumped to go...I absolutely love the school and I know I would be the happiest girl ever if I got in there!

dreamin--congrats on your interview invite!! OU is AMAZING....everthing and everyone is fabulous! your interview day will be awesome.....all 3 of my interviews were very laid back and they made me feel like that they really wanted me to be there! I'm confident you will do well and hopefully i will see you in the fall! good luck!

homer--congrats on LECOM--i interviewed there on the 21st and feel pretty confident i will be accepted although i could care less after OU.....i wish i could hand out the interviews that i won't go to....sorry...but, i bet you will get one at Nova (if you applied there)

i just read my last post and noticed it sounded a little arrogant about what i said about caring less about LECOM.....i didn't mean it like that.....LECOM is a great school and i'm sure you will love it there (if you decide to go).....OU was just my top choice and i ranked it above LECOM....Congrats again....you're going to be a DOCTOR! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do screen primary and secondary and their cutoff GPA is higher, I think.

However, there are a bunch of people who have been accepted to TUCOM who haven't contributed to this thread.

I just found out that I got into OUCOM today!!! The school is perfect...I absolutely loved it there. They are supposed to email you the next morning if you get in...I didn't get an email this morning and was very upset....I ended up getting a call from the Dean of Admissions about an hour ago letting me know that something happened to their email system and that none of the acceptances were sent to the students...talk about a long day for me! Anyways, I am in and I am going to be a doctor!!!

I have a question about CCOM. Since I am out of state I will have to pay out of state tuition, but will i get instate tuition in my second year? Thanks for your help.

No, you will have to pay out-of-state tuition for all 4 years. You must be a state resident for the year prior to admission to be considered for in-state tuition. This applies to all colleges.

hi. i'm not sure about all states but i am in alabama and i know that there are ways to establish residency despite being there as a student. as far as i know you have to get a driver's license or register a car here and then do one other thing from a list of possibilities (one of them is "starting" a business). i'd check with the financial aid depts at the schools for alternative methods of establishing residency. i'm not sure if this applies only to alabama or not....
