This is a low base to live and work in North Dakota. You could def negotiate up to 275K easily. But it should be at least 300K offer to work somewhere like that. The hospital makes mad money off podiatry.

Bunch of cali stuff lately way below....saw one at a fqhc or something like that at 140-160For the area, the salary seems to be far below market rate.
I have seen many a DPM take jobs that seem not-so-great at first... then turned out to be a total grind or even lower pay than advertised. 🙂I’ve seen people take jobs that seemed awesome at first but turned out to be a total grind—either the pay didn’t match the workload, or the promises about bonuses and hours were way off.
You're correct, sir. It's difficult to find a job paying ~200k in California now, especially for newbie!Bunch of cali stuff lately way below....saw one at a fqhc or something like that at 140-160
I have had a few ppl tell me they're accepting a low pay job to stay in Calif (would be low pay in midwest, terrible salary in CA). It's sad. I advise them to keep looking... go unemployed for a couple months if needed... even do a fellowship to buy time (yuck). It's very saturated, though. You're correct, sir. It's difficult to find a job paying ~200k in California now, especially for newbie!
There is a large hospital system in California paying 300k in rural LCOL (lower...at least in California terms - not LCOL north Dakota terms) areas....source: trust me bro. And online. That's how I found my most recent job - practice match/link. Sometimes it's just that easy. You're correct, sir. It's difficult to find a job paying ~200k in California now, especially for newbie!
damnitalso don't apply if not LDS lol
Wenatchee-East Wenatchee is 100,000+ people when you include the Quincy, Leavenworth, Entiat, Waterville, etc. communities that would feed it. Gotta be 50-60k just in city limits. Plenty of operative pathology.would think they would opt for a non-op or NP based on community size.
also don't apply if not LDS lol
I am going to have close to 80k all to myself at new gig....and the hell I am going to hire another pod...jk I am employed and will do what daddy says.Wenatchee-East Wenatchee is 100,000+ people when you include the Quincy, Leavenworth, Entiat, Waterville, etc. communities that would feed it. The one I found advertises "6 figure base salary" like it's a selling point. And I'm sure that 6 figures means the low 100s.Is there really *one* podiatry job up on a ACFAS website podiatrycareers.org right now?
I have never seen that before... usually 5-25 at any time.
I saw it is a website minor re-design, so making sure I don't have settings on wrong or something. 🙁
And, naturally in podiatry in 2024, the one job listed has "Fellowship preferred"... despite no docs in the group having done one. 🤣
Yeah, I found it now... it put some filter on for my zip code, so I only saw one. It has 28 or so when I take off filter.I'm not sure what you're looking at. There are plenty of jobs posted. See the two I screen shot. One is looking for a psychiatrist and the other advertises to practice where you vacation in Saint Albans, Vermont.

Sounds like you don't live in Texas. There is more to life than "but ma taxes"Texas (and other red states) are the best states to be a doctor imo, just look at litigation laws/limitations compared with blue. Also taxes…
Practicing medicine...sure. Living a healthy active outdoor lifestyle....not so muchI previously lived in Texas (and liked it there) and now live in a state that is pretty similar to it. California taxes are absurd compared to Texas even considering property taxes. Also take into account how much people can sue you for and how easy they make it to sue - states like Texas have it much better for docs

This place never had a residency. Only an externship. What happened to the residency they used to have?
Are you sure? Because I interviewed for one in Tucson (not the VA) back in 2013...This place never had a residency. Only an externship.
The posting states that it's a research/academic position; that usually means a lesser salary compared to other practice types if MD/DO jobs are any indication. Likely still better than some of the worst PP offenders, but overall a shame - they require ABFAS certification, and taking any kind of lesser pay after suffering for certification would be a huge loss of ROI...but I guess there's the feeling of accomplishment of having gotten an academic positionI hope that pays well.
