Hi April 2006 MCATers,

Some posters have requested that we have one serious thread where only announcements and information about the April 2006 MCAT score release are posted. This thread is it. After the scores are released (on JUNE 20TH!!!), y'all can post your scores in here as well. But in the meantime, please while away the time in the Official April 2006 thread so that we can avoid cluttering this one up with unrelated posts. As always, please remember that false score release posts and threads are a no-no, and good luck to everyone waiting. 🙂

anybody else here plagued by the "what if"s...
what if i had started studying earlier...

Ongoing discussion right now with parents over whether or not I should throw in the towel at 32 rather than risk scoring lower...

31Q .*_*.

I am VERY Happy. Goal was 30, thought i was getting a 28-29. ended up with something higher than expected!

Don't really know what happened with that M...apparently I'm illiterate and never knew it. Go figure. At least that apps can prove I DO in fact understand English.

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.
In shock - literally I think I'm going to pass out. Not in my wildest dreams did I really think I would score that high. Just proves that you don't absolutely need to take a class to score well.

Can anyone give me some thoughts on my L ( 😳 )? I know med schools don't really care about the writing section, but that's a really low score. I wish I knew where that came from, cause I was getting 4's or 5's on my Kaplan practice tests.

Have no worries. It's equally important as the color of the tie you wear for the interview. It isn't going to be an issue at all if it's matched with a solid numerical score.

Not what I expected but I guess good enough for a DO program.

Total 28R

VR 11 (never had a practice score this high)
PS 08 (practice score 11 twice)
BS 09 (practice score 10 twice)
WS R (can you believe this ****)

Even if I retake will never have to worry about the Verbal anymore.
Good luck to all of you, as for me I think I did well given the circumstances.

Actually with your score you may still qualify for the EDP program at USF or if you apply the regular way you may qualify for UMiami and FSU with your good GPA and ECs and vast clinical experience. UF is the only you wouldn't be too competitive for.

I'd contact those people I gave you a list of contacts for some time back to get an opinion now that you know your MCAT score. At least that goes for USF. I don't think your MCAT disqualifies you.

SCORE: 29P (11/9/9)

1. Your Form (If you remember): AR

2. Your Practice Score Range: Started with 20, AAMC range: 26-32

3. What you used to Study Took TPR, Audio Osmosis

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.
I feel Neutral, but slightly happy. If I ever decide to retake, I will be much more relaxed. Now I can forget about the MCAT for the next two months at least!

Congratulations to everyone!!! See you in Medschool!!!

guys this sucks! i'm thrillled with the 29, but i took the CBT and my first essay didn't save! i was hoping that the computer would automatically save it, but it didn't . i'm screwed. The M means i got a 4/5 on the second essay. and 0/5 on the first. (i think) $%#^&!!!!!!

This is not true. I didn't hit save on the first essay either and I took the CBT. I got a Q on WS.

PS = 10
BS = 10

3. What you used to Study Kaplan

4. How do you feel right now????? Ecstatic, Neutral, Disappointed, etc.
Pretty dissapointed.....I know a 29P is not bad and I think i'll get in, but I was scoring better on practice tests. My last three practice tests were 30,33,34. I got a little too comfortable with these scores and slacked at the end. Test day came and I came out of it feeling crappy. I have a 3.9 gpa and this doesn't really match that as well as I wanted, but hey what they hell, i'm done

I had no doubt I would see all these high scores, congrats everyone!!!!

How were you doing on your verbal in the practice tests? I was hoovering at 8 and 9 at the best. I don't think it is worth the risk for me.

What about you? That Q is good if that means anything!?!?

DOH!
VR-10
PS-11 (was getting 13's on practice tests 🙁 )
BS-11
WS-M ?!?!
total: 32M

I actually got 32 on 4/5 practice Kaplan MCAT's and a 27 on the diagnostic... which is to say I didn't really improve at all from the first practice test. I wonder if they'll give me a refund, but I doubt it. 🙁

VR: 8. Ouchy lol.
PS: 15! Hell yeah!
WS: O
BS: 14.
Total: 37O.

I'll take it  DAMNED VERBAL REASONING THOUGH. Maybe they'll assume English is my second language...

Did anyone else see the series number and almost piss themselves because they thought that was their score? 😀

41Q!!!!!
Physical: 14
Verbal: 12
Bio: 15

1. Practice test Score Range: Took Kaplan diagnostic (34), then went 36, 37, 39, 39, 39, 41
2) What I used to study: I took Kaplan, never went to class, took all the practice tests (1-5, 8,9) and AAMC (the online one, I scored 41 on that one). I read up on the stuff I did poorly on in the Kaplan Review Notes.
3) I am feeling psyched...in fact I decided to quit my research job and enjoy my summer, as I remembered how hard I worked in March/April

i was in the 9's and 10's....i have no f-ing clue what went wrong...i even thought it was fairly easy.

I am very, very happy and relieved. The verbal score came out of nowhere and since it was the first number that I saw when the screen popped up, I thought I was reading it wrong and that it might have been the series number or something. Haha, I am relieved as hell, congrats to all of you that did well and to those of you that are disappointed, don't give up. It was my second time taking it and I got a 25 the first time.

Just a question to all of you: do you think that this sufficiently counterbalances a very, very low undergraduate GPA (think less than 3.0 cumulative and even worse in the sciences), considering that I am currently in a master's program (which I'm doing well in, but not quite a 4.0 GPA)?
