Disagree. People get matched with scores in the 50s each year with no such advantage.
can you please give me few pointers on where to apply and any tips on how to approach low cbse scores in the interview for 4 year programs. Also, any pointers if its okay to mention that I have applied to other surgucal programs as well perio?

Thank you.

Thank you.

If you applied to perio and OMFS you need to rethink what you actually want to do.

Here's your first problem.
I understand how both fields are like day and night. I AM passionate about surgery 100%. However, being a foreign graduate without any permanent resident status, the chances are very narrow for me. That is why I am keeping perio which is the closest to surgery. It's not that I have questionable intentions, I am just trying to be practical. My pursuit for surgical internships is all based on my personal judgments and I keep trying to have a check-list, some concrete stuff that should help me match.

Guys please guide me. I need your help.

@Aspiring4OMFS I will give you a bit of hope: I know someone who matched this cycle who completed the international program at my DS, then did 2 intern years (don't know if his score was lower prior to the intern years, ie maybe could have gotten in sooner if he had the score), then matched to a reputable 6 year program. It was hard for him to get interviews, but it only takes 1. I do believe his final score was high, like high 70s or 80s... so there's that. 57 is difficult these days, for anyone, for 4-yr programs as well, so do all you can do to improve your score if you want a shot.

guys for now I am aiming for either a preliminary internship or aegd programs. Is that the right way to go or is it that I don't stand a chance for prelims either?

@Aspiring4OMFS this thread is for Match results. Please begin new thread or direct your comments about your chances and hypothetical scenarios elsewhere.
thank you for pointing out. However, I am not the first one to deviate from the original subject as evident by the thread and I appreciate all the help I can get.
