Sweatybrain, I've gotten my rejection yesterday and I was p-o-ed. But there are a lot of people who are going to make great doctors, and because of my rejection- another person will have an opportunity to become a great doctor at Stanford.

ok, so my mail comes to my adress at school, and im not there. im worried im going to come back to multiple rejections in my mail box (probly stanfords). on the UPitt website it says correspondence sent out 12/17, but it wont let me schedual my interview on tehre, so i think that means they rejected me too 🙁.

on the website where you filled out the secondary, there is a status page, it says it there. but then there is also a tab to schedual interviews, where it tells me i havent been invited to schedual one.

Thanks PhotoMD. Yeah, I wasn't the least bit surprised by the Stanford rejection. I'm still in the running with 6 schools, and I just applied to 12 DO schools, so it's not over yet. 🙂 Take care.

yep, just checked my mailbox after vacation and there is no rejection letter from stanford. Then again, I sent the secondary at the end of November. Wondering if I were to send secondary earlier, would I get reject it earlier also 😕

I am inclined to believe that it means you just didn't get an early rejection. No guarantees, I think. If we were guaranteed interviews, we'd have 'em. 😛

I heard that Stanford does NOT play the holding game. They either reject or interview. I don't know if this is correct, but if it is, it gives me hope because I know that Stanford hasn't really invited many people to interview for this application cycle, so far.

i live 20 minutes (by car) from stanford and I have not received my rejection letter yet. So i guess the school rejects in batches and my application is in the "jan. rejection" batch.

Thanks for keeping me in check, wends. It's so much better to keep in mind the things to be thankful for, rather than fuming on the things that go wrong. This New England weather just makes me crave a trip out to the west coast... (and I was hoping I would have an excuse to go visit my brother in Berkeley... ) Come on, UCSF....

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend! 🙁 I'm just trying to hold out hope for staying in CA. I'm sorry if I came across as someone who lacks humility. Trust me, this application process keeps me humble everyday. Good luck to you.

As I go back and read that post... it sounds a little harsher than I meant it to. Sorry for that. I hope that no rejection from Stanford means that an interview invite is on your way! I wish you the best of luck, you've gotten in to some great schools already, right?
I'm also wishing and praying to go to school in CA, but now it's down to just UCSF and UCSD, neither of which are looking too promising... Here's to us both being California sunshine med students next year! 😀

I received my Stanford rejection (my very first rejection) on the 24th. Since I wasn't really expecting to get in, I'm not sure why it affected me so much, emotionally.

I really wish Stanford would have considered sending out this first batch of rejections AFTER christmas... they could have spared some of us some pain during the holiday weekend. It was rough trying to be happy and social while feeling disappointed. Oh well. That which doesn't kill you just makes you stronger, they say.

I agree -- Someone should have thought that one through. While they were not my first I rec'd my Stanford rejection on 12/23 and my Case rejection 12/24. Pretty cold.
