***Official Roseman University Class of 2024 Interview/Acceptance thread***

So I have been calling the admission office since Friday trying to schedule for the interview but no one answered... Does anyone else have the same issue? I am a bit worried since the last time I called, someone picked up almost immediately? Usually they are very good with responding to emails and phone calls. What happened to Ms. Alicia :/
That's strange. I got an invitation on the 3rd as well and called that day and they answered right away. Sorry! Definitely keep calling! I called them later morning if that helps.

Hey everyone, I am a year 1 student here at roseman. Feel free to DM me any questions you may have about the school or interview day.

Aadsas says Received/ Application complete, which is different from the status of the other schools that I have submitted to. Does everyones says this for Roseman or should I be concerned?

Yes, mine says that as well! 🙂 You're good!

They sent me an email telling me that they began the review of my file a couple weeks ago and that changed my status to “under review” on aadsas.

Roseman’s philosophy is “pay the most, learn the least”. My advice to all of you is apply elsewhere. You have been warned.

Just curious if any new invites were sent out recently??

No, you were supposed to do it yourself soon after submitting ADSAS. They never sent anyone a request to pay the supplemental. It was on their website.

Are you thinking about Colorado? I know that was the case for them.

I received my secondary application and fee 7days after submitting my primary application.
@okjnla

On AADSAS Roseman provides a link to their supplemental. I guess I never received one since I submitted the supplemental quickly after. Never mind then, I guess they do send some supplementals out.

For those who interviewed in September, would you guys suggest to get a car rental to get around town? or did you guys use uber/lyfe from the SLC airport to the hotel/ airbnb?

I am interviewing this friday, anyone's flight arriving at around 4:30 pm? I am staying at an airbnb in Sandy. looking to share/ split an uber or rental? I am also open to meeting/ hanging out and grab dinner/ explore town too! Very excited and looking forward to meet some fellow SDNers! 🙂

Your wasting your time. This place is an overpriced joke.
Someone sounds a little bitter.. haha. I have friends who go here and love it. The clinical experience they get is amazing. It is expensive, but so are a lot of private schools. The price is high because you get way more experience in the clinic, which makes the price more because people are charged less, or nothing at all, to come see you so YOU can learn and practice. Anyways, if you don't like the school don't attend. It is a good school, and if people want to or can pay, that is their choice. A number of schools are just as expensive... and numerous schools in California and around the US are more...
NYU: $544,614.28
MUSC (OOS): $535,664.80
UPENN: $523,501.09
USC: $517,876.94
University of the Pacific: $503,370.66
(OOS) University of Washington: $501,638.58
... the list goes on. No need to spread negativity on a page. If you're not interested, don't follow 🙂

What are the available interview dates they offered you?

For those of you that interviewed, what did you guys bring with you? I just thought if the interview is till late afternoon, then where did you put your stuff while doing the interview as the hotel/motel etc. check out time would be around 1pm-ish...?

I'm pretty sure they had somewhere you could store your things. Most hotels let you keep luggage at their front desk too. I had a rental car though.

If what you are saying is true, it seems like the students you are referring to are “lazy” rather than the school. If you put the effort in to learning and gaining clinical experience then I don’t see how you can graduate feeling unprepared. I’d also like to remind you that everyone in this thread has applied to roseman and obviously wants to go there. I don’t think you’re accomplishing what you want by posting negative things in this thread.

Applicants have a right to know this place is not what they present at interviews. But hey, if you are too lazy or desperate to think critically and investigate before investing 600k thats fine.

I'm sorry you didn't or are not having a good experience at Roseman. I don't know if you are currently a student there, but from the friend I know that goes there, they have changed a lot around in the last year or two. So hopefully it can be better for future students. Anyways, I guess everyone has different experiences and not every school is a right fit for every person. I also have a friend who went to dental school there and is in the military now, and he enjoyed his experience as well and feels prepared as a dentist. But, again, everyone experiences different things. However, if you want people to have the information, I think positing it in a more constructive way with more information would be more helpful rather than in such a negative way that is off-putting for applicants.

You are right, I am bitter. I don’t like being ripped off by a lazy institution. They dont care about their students, just money. For a person that doesn’t go here you seem to know so much. Your description of clinical experience here is completely false. What year are your friends? D1s/D2’s? Im sure they know so much about clinical experience seeing as they are in clinic so much. There are no procedure requirements here so you can literally graduate with 1 crown or endo. I know past and current students with these exact numbers. Obviously your friends are *****s. You could be an idiot and graduate here. If you want an easy half ass education come here. Check the boards pass rate. It’s low. Lower than most schools. They teach you the minimum and charge you the maximum. But hey, if your worried about being able to cut it at a normal school, sure come here. You will most likely be babied and pass with minimum effort. **** will hit the fan when you graduate.

I would say the same things if I was on academic probation and didn’t pass the board’s. Blaming the institution for YOUR education is like blaming the handpiece for bad dental work. Also, if you didn’t like the price tag, why did you choose to go there?

I don't think thats necessarily true. There are situations where not every student gets an opportunity to see certain procedures. I would imagine having two large dental schools in the same area which also happens to be the most saturated cities for dental practices to cause some problems.
Sometimes it isn't just lazy or lack of trying, some things are just out of our control. You can't force patients to have procedures and have them come to your clinic over anywhere else.

Definitely agree that most people who are posting here want to attend this school and posting to discourage applicants is a bit too late but honestly it is pretty helpful information.

Yeah you bring up a good point and I agree with what you're saying. I guess I just meant the info could have been more helpful rather than deterring like @Ricer7 mentioned. Like how are other students overcoming these obstacles and how is the school trying to become better rather than "just dont go here"

Hahaha that’s what an ignorant desperate person would say. Luckily I have not had any issues as you mentioned above. My biggest issue with this school is the faculty’s lack of care for the students who pay their salaries. Efforts should be made to get every student a similar level of experience. Do you disagree? That’s how most schools operate and are far cheaper. The people running the show here do not want to be responsible for student procedure numbers because that puts them in a liable position. Again, this school is full of lazy worthless faculty who just want their paycheck with minimal work. Many faculty couldn’t survive in private practice and that’s why they are here. Some were hired straight out of school. But If you like paying $100k a year for no return on investment then come here. Another thing you might find interesting is how this school is taking millions of dollars in tuition from the dental students to fund the medical school in Nevada. They are short on faculty, complain about supply costs, take back equipment from students and claim we were renting it when we were initially told it was ours. All the classes before got to keep their equipment but now you pay about $50k in equipment “rental” fees instead. This school is shady. But you sound like someone who likes getting ripped off and is willing to turn a blind eye when shady situations arise.

You are right. A good percentage is the students here are lazy or have families that they would rather be home with. Roseman has a very laid back lifestyle. They teach the minimum and make tests very easy. For 2024 they will only teach you bioclear which is an absolute joke. So expect to be somewhat uncomfortable if you go on rotation and they only have traditional restorative supplies. I could go on for days about how this place is a joke but I’ll stop here for now. I agree with you somewhat that you get what you put into it. I would be more inclined to accept that philosophy at a cheaper school. This place is ridiculously expensive and in return we receive far less education. What are the faculty being paid to do? They have a job and as far as I can tell they are not doing it. In the corporate world you get fired when you just sit around and don’t produce what is expected. It should be the same here but this place is unique due to the customer base of desperate applicants. Also, there is no quantity control here as most state schools have so there is no entity keeping everyone doing what they are supposed to. Most will attack me here because they don’t want to believe that a dental intuition is as much of a joke as I describe. Personally I would have appreciated this information presented and maybe investigate further before just jumping head first into roseman class of 2024. I would have gone elsewhere had I known how this place is run.

No offense, but that is your mistake and naïveté for going somewhere you now don’t like since your expectations have been compromised.
Just suck it up, graduate, and get your dental degree.
Maybe your complaining is a sign of something deeper that’s bothering you and not just the system.

Dental school isn’t a place meant to pamper you (believe me, I’ve heard bad stories at various friends and even my sister’s dental school).

But if you think all that is unfair, welcome to the “real world” where even when you get your dental degree there’s annoying colleagues, workplace situations, office politics, patients, administration, etc that you still have to deal with.

The best thing you can do from here on out is to NOT make the same mistake or have the same naivety again. Maybe when you find a job, don’t go into it blindly or at least be prepared to realize that working will also suck.

So my advice:
suck it up, do the work, then graduate and make room for other ppl, don’t be naive.

Oh, and don’t complain.

Dental school isn’t a place meant to pamper you like your royalty.

There’s worse things out there which you should have learned from volunteering at more “unfortunate places” (assuming you did your work to get into dental school and wrote about how you want to help others, are empathetic, etc. etc. like the typical stuff ppl say on their apps)

So my advice:
suck it up, do the work, then graduate and make room for all the other ppl who want to go to dental school.
No one wants a complainer.
Im not looking to be pampered. I’ve done the work and had no issues. You have no clue my friend. I’ve graduated from real schools that required you actually apply yourself and learn and worked in the real world. I know very well how it works. I’m not looking for empathy. You are obviously miss understanding my posts. I’m looking to shed light on a crappy school and help future applicants make an educated decision. This place won’t change until the customer demands change. You sound like one of those desperate applicants willing to through half a million bucks at any program as long as you get in. Or maybe your on daddy’s payroll still. Sounds like you really know how the “real” world works. Good luck to you.

Go tell your school administration your “words of advice” and see what they do. I’m sure they’d love to listen to your “heads up”

nice after thought. Your very clever. Let me ask you something. What do you get out of defending a school you know nothing about. Would you rather I just lie and say this place is awesome? Are you a d1 or d2? Please enlighten me.

You are reminded to remain civil and professional in your responses. People are allowed to have their opinions about schools, and other users are welcomed to agree/disagree. Just don't turn it into a war, and remember to report posts you think are against our ToS!

Anyone having trouble getting in contact on the phone to schedule and interview? It doesn't ring and goes to a busy message. I even called the registrar office and library just as a test and it did the same thing...

Update: Their phones are down so they are calling everyone themselves. Just a warning to make sure to answer the call because it's coming from a weird number.

Thanks for the heads-up! I got my invite email this morning and tried calling all day but the call couldn't be completed. They haven't reached out to me yet, but hopefully I can get my date sorted out tomorrow morning. What were the interview dates they offered you if you don't mind me asking.

I would have to agree. I don't attend Roseman, but interviewed and got accepted there. Also through other connections i've learned a fair amount about the school. Although I don't really agree with how you've approached your argument, (people might take you more seriously if you learned to be more cordial) I think you have a valid one.

Listen, for anyone applying here, just do your due diligence, don't be naive and think the picture they paint on interview day is the entire experience. I promise once you get in, and even so once you graduate, you'll be glad you put the work in now and can see the whole process for what it is. the debt isn't worth it for a very subpar school and education. Just my two cents.

P.s. if its the only school you get into, congrats, work your butt off and the school doesn't have to define the quality of dentist you'll be. But if you have multiple options, just be smart.

Oct 25th, Nov 8th, Nov 15th. They said those are all the dates left for pre December, but they will continue to interview in January.

I got an interview yesterday! any advice is greatly appreciated🙂
They are awesome! So friendly and welcoming. They stay right on schedule, so whatever time they said in the email you would finish, is almost exactly when we did. They let you practice a restoration and some digital imaging in the lab as well, very cool. The interview itself was conversational. Definitely some asked questions, but not an interrogation. Mine was a faculty and 2 students. There were about 60 other students interviewing the same day as me!

Hey everyone i just landed in salt lake city for my interview tomorrow, ill be staying at Home2Suites. If anyone thats here wants to link up and get some food and explore a little send me a message!
