only had one interview day available in early January
Congrats on your interview invite!!! Current D1, let me know if you have any questions!

I really hope they're sending them out in waves since I haven't heard anything yet! The whole day I'm going to be freaking out waiting for a response

Oh they definitely do send them in waves. They can only call so many people at a time! But if you don’t hear back today, have no fear, you might even hear tomorrow or another day this week!

Just curious but do they send emails throughout the day? I emailed mid October and am still waiting around

WELCOME CLASS OF 2022! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCEPTANCE!!!:soexcited::claps:

FYI: Current D1! so if you have any questions ask away/PM me

Anyone know if they send these acceptances out in waves? Any chance they notify tomorrow even though it’s a Saturday?

I just talked to my friend who is a D1 there, and she confirmed they do send them out in waves. Some of her classmates didn't hear anything back until January.

She didn’t get waitlisted or anything? Idk if I can wait that long if that’s the case!

I am currently alternate/wait listed at UIC so I have to continue waiting unfortunately. I'm not sure if being waitlisted better or worse than not hearing a response but, I'm also not sure what to expect. Are they just waiting for the top students to respond before giving me an offer or are they still reviewing my application? I interviewed Nov 15 so maybe the late factor might be a reason for being waitlisted instead of acceptance. Anyways, any insight or relevant stories would be great to hear.

Does UIC give Scholarships? If so, when do they send those out?

I have no clue which is better. I interviewed mid-October and haven't heard anything at all... If anyone has any thoughts, feel free to chime in!

Yeah, what I hear from a current D1 student is that more people get responses on Jan 1 and even later throughout the spring semester. Just wondering what your stats were if you don't mind sharing. I'm at 3.8 sGPA, 21AA 22TS. 24PAT

Have you beard anything? I’m at 3.84 oGPA 3.89 sGPA, 21AA, 24 PAT, 20TS

Has any OOS applicant heard back yet? I interviewed sometime in October, and I haven't heard anything back from them. It's my first choice, but this silence treatment is painful 🙁

Yeah I am! Are you waitlisted? When did you interview?
Lmao I answered that in your reply. Yeah, I am alternate/waitlisted and had my interview on Nov 15th. I'm also a UIC undergrad student so im not sure if that plays a factor into their decision but I don't think it would for the most part.

What state are you applying from? What other schools are you comparing with UIC as your top choices?

Whoops.. little brain dead from preparing for finals. Sounds like you’re in a great position though. Being in limbo suckssss. I’ve got no doubts you’ll get in.

this is a little late but I was waitlisted on 12/1. anyone know anymore details about the waitlist?

Georgia! Well, I loved my visit to UIC when I interviewed there for multiple reasons. Students seemed happy there and they said they feel well prepared for clinics. Every faculty staff I've met was nice, and I genuinely enjoyed my time there. Also, I love Chicago and there's always things to do there so.. I'm praying for good news to come 🙂

Still trying to decide between UIC and Marquette but Im leaning more towards UIC!

Curious, whats your pro/con list b/t the two schools: UIC and Marquette?

Pros: UIC is in Chicago where I was born and raised so I ideally want to stay in the area to be close to family. Its cheaper than Marquette, not by much but still cheaper. The clinical experiences are amazing because its a diverse school in a big city. More research opportunities. Ultimately want to practice in Illinois. Cons to UIC: Older facilities. SGL (either will love it or hate it!).

Marquette pros: In the clinics your first year. Super clinical focused. Community service is really big at Marquette. Cheaper rent. More traditional approach to teaching dentistry. Cons to Marquette: More expensive, farther away from home. Not in the best area in Milwaukee.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! 🙂

Interview Invite! I was not expecting it at all!

sGPA: 3.2 OGPA: 3.7 DAT: 20

reading all these post getting me nervous. I'm oos, interviewing in January and do not have nearly as good of GPA or DAT as some who mentioned they are on the wait list...

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else! If you got an interview they view you on level playing field as everyone else

Anyone know when next batch of acceptances are sent out?

Does UIC send out enough acceptances Dec 1 to fill the class? Or did they only send out a chunk of acceptances on dec 1.

Hey guys, quick question. I have my interview soon and I thought about bringing in something I made to further emphasize the idea that I like working with my hands. Do you guys think that's appropriate or will it hurt my chances. I've heard of some people bringing their portfolio of their photography work and what not so I was just wondering if this is a no no or something that will be okay. Thanks for the advice.

Oh and it's nothing big where I'd have to lug around... just something small.

This one student brought in some artwork to my interview day and let’s just say everyone else gave her dirty looks lol.

And now since it's a post December interview, meaning there are less seats to compete for, you bet I'll be giving you a dirty look 😛
