After thinking about it now.... I think I probably won't. Might not be the best idea.Everyone as in applicants or the interviewers and staff?

accepted.
Congrats!!! Were you waitlisted? And will you be accepting?
Were there a lot of behavior questions at the UIC interview? or was it more just why you want to be a dentist and why UIC type questions?I was waitlisted on dec 1st and had another offer so I’ll be making a decision soon.

Those type of questions but in a serious tone and they ask follow up questions. Don't expect them to be all smiles when they see you either. It was more like dirty looks in there lol. Were there a lot of behavior questions at the UIC interview? or was it more just why you want to be a dentist and why UIC type questions?
Thanks a lot guys. I appreciate the input. Oh, I forgot... Did they throw any curve balls of questions and how was the Q&A with the current students like? What types of questions?
For the student part, are they asking you questions? or are you asking them questions? I was kind of confused on that part.No curveballs. I thought the questions were pretty straightforward as long as youre used to typical interview questions like strengths, anything on your application etc. The student part was casual. They were very helpful with answering anything
You ask them any questions you have about the program! For the student part, are they asking you questions? or are you asking them questions? I was kind of confused on that part.

In UIC's current "DMD Resident Estimated Tuition & Fees"; it says the following concerning & vague statements:
- Note: Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice any time prior to the first day of instruction.
- Published rates are subject to change pending approval of the U of I Board of Trustees March 2017.
- *Summer 2018 fees are based on the 2017 rate and may increase.
- ***Increases could be up to 15%***
The statement, ***Increases could be up to 15%*** scares me the most!!!
1. Is the 15% increase, after each semester??? or a yearly increase???
2. Is the 15% increase made to the tuition, or tuition PLUS fees?
REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM CURRENT UIC Dental students (or Anyone who knows) to clarify above questions:
I was wondering if anyone knew the history of UIC's tuition increase each year? Maybe a UIC dental student could post the tuition increases each year you were at UIC? Or if you know the average tuition increase each year for UIC?
I would like to know the "track history" of UIC with tuition increase. Could offer me insight if I should expect a 15% tuition increase if I went to UIC. So any info on the tuition increase would be helpful!
Side notes:
I have heard at my UIC interview student panel, that many current Dental students were displeased and surprised by UIC DMD tuition each year. But no concrete Numbers of Tuition increase were given.
It would make sense that UIC would increase its tuition by alot since Illinois gov is brokee.... But its weird since I heard that SIU makes it an effort to freeze its tuition each year (source from SIU dental student).
This is something to consider by us applicants as $$$$ is big factor. Please someone help us with this info!
Yes, and noDid anyone send a thank you email to the interviewers? And if you did, did they respond back?
How did that happen?I sent thank you cards...

Thank you for your kind words. I hope I'll get some good news.Don't lose hope!! The cycle isn't over yet until you receive a rejection. They are probably going through applications again since the top students are in the process of choosing schools and giving up seats 🙂
They said they will have interviews in March. So don't worry.I received an email at 8/15 that my application was complete. Still didn't hear anything back... Loosing hope.
Yes there is.Hi all,
Does anyone know if there a place to leave a carry-on bag/luggage at UIC on the interview day? The check out times for my hotel is 3 pm and I'll be catching a flight back to NY that day. So, I was thinking to check out in the morning on the day of the interview.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks
Yes there is.
From what I've read, being on the waitlist is better than not hearing anything. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking and when did you receive the email?Got the alternate/wait list email. I'm kind of disappointed...does anyone know if the class is full?

Ooh and just received email this afternoonFrom what I've read, being on the waitlist is better than not hearing anything. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking and when did you receive the email?
Well congrats on the waitlist. From what it looks like, it seems to move around a lot. I'm still waiting for a response ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Good point. Yes, my stats are just average. I have 3.6 overall/science and 21 AA/TS.
Don’t get discouraged. I was waitlisted on dec 1st and then got an offer early JanuaryGot the alternate/wait list email. I'm kind of disappointed...does anyone know if the class is full?
Congrats on the invite! Ask insightful questions about the program. They want to know you are really interested/excited to be there.interview invite today, is there anything in particular they really like to hear during the interview?
Thank you I appreciate it.Congrats on the invite! Ask insightful questions about the program. They want to know you are really interested/excited to be there.
did anyone who interviewed in January hear back yet or know when the next round of acceptances will be?
Did anyone send a thank you email to the interviewers? And if you did, did they respond back?
The only reason I sent them an email is because at the end of the day, out of nowhere, they gave us their emails. I felt like that was a hint. If they didn't do that, I would've never sent anything. They specifically asked us not to at midwestern since we interviewed with so many people but I did at my one on one or one on two interviews. I just asked them for their business cards. And Indiana supplied us with their email info!
Do you mind sharing your stats? To those with an interview coming up, here is some information. I interviewed on Feb 13th and was my first interview. All of the admissions staff and faculty were super nice! They went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel comfortable. The interviews are pretty much first thing and will be either 2 on 1 or 1 on 1. Mine was 1 on 1 and my interview was super relaxed. The only thing is I felt like she didn’t ask me very many questions. I think it went well but some of the other interviewees said they had lots of questions. Pretty much all I had was “tell me about yourself” and “why do you want to be a dentist “. Idk if that’s a good sign or a bad sign . After interviews we had Q&A w/ dental students. Some were very helpful and some gave the impression they only wanted coffee lol. Then we had a presentation about curriculum and about student services and tour and that’s it! We were dismissed around 12:30. Anyone have other questions let me know.
