Wow, why have you not been accepted anywhere? I have way less hours than you in large and haven't done a whole lot in community service due to shoving 4 years of undergrad into 3 and then taking time off to just breathe instead of throwing myself into even more stuff. I hope someone accepts you soon because you definitely deserve it.
 
I only applied to my instate (illinois) because my grades aren't that good, 3.3 cum. and illinois puts lets focus on grades than like any other school. I guess next year I should apply more places but I feel like my gpa holds me back. also my gre scores are horrible haha.

My verbal for the GRE is just barely at their average and was with retaking the GRE last summer. A 3.3 isn't really that bad. There's lots of people who have lower but a ton of experience and get in. I really think half of vet school applications is a number game. You can have the best stats out there and I'm sure a school would still reject or waitlist you.

i totally agree, i wish i wasn't graduating so there was a way to increase my sci gpa which is only calculated right now at a 2.8
 
If you don't get in this round, take or retake a couple science classes at a community college or at the university. It won't boost it up too much, but it'll show that you're willing to improve.

I'm joining this boat too with 2 waitlists and 2 rejections. Last year I was waitlisted at VMRCVM and despite being told by nearly everyone that OOS waitlists move fast and that I had a pretty good number, I was never bumped up, so it kind of makes me less hopeful of getting in again this year 🙁

I definitely understand how everyone is feeling...I have felt in limbo for a long time while waiting to hear back from my IS and now I am waitlisted..and like someone else has said before me, it's even more difficult because my significant other is hopefully going to travel with me and would like to find a job and a community college to enroll in....
I was waitlisted at my IS (NCS) and am one of 12 people on an "unranked" waitlist..anyone have any insight into that?? I've heard no one gets off this waitlist and in my waitlist letter it actually told me no one was taken off of it last year (as if they were saying, don't hold your breath..)
I do have an acceptance at Auburn under my belt but the drastic difference in tuition is scaring me half to death...I'm praying really hard until April when things are finally settled and I'll know for sure where I will be going!

Is anyone else who is on multiple waitlists bothering to notify the schools if you decide you don't want the waitlist spot? I had heard of people doing this in the past, and it made sense to me to allow someone else to get the call more quickly, rather than potentially having the school waste time by calling someone who would not attend anyway. Is there a polite way to do this? I know Penn for example asks you to accept your alternate status within a certain time period.I know this is obviously a much harder call to make when you don't have an acceptance, and if that were my situation I'd probably hold onto everything I had.

Just wondering if anyone felt doing this reduced the "clutter" in their brain.

I am going to be doing this for one. I decided I would rather try again for my IS than spend the double tuition for a program I didn't end up liking very much when I visited. I would rather decline staying on the waitlist than end up with an acceptance and have to turn that down (as much as I hate to think I may be saying goodbye to my best shot at acceptance this year). I think it is the courteous thing to do, as it is considerate of both the adcom's time and the other students on the list.

I haven't actually sent it yet because I haven't figured out a good way to word what I want to say... I'm thinking about just saying something short and simple like "I am requesting to be removed from the waitlist due to financial concerns. I appreciate your consideration for a seat at ______ ."

So anxious, ISU is my only hope. I'm declining one waitlist and the other is an IS waitlist so its unlikely it will move. Do you happen to know how many they waitlisted to start with? :luck:

I received an email from ISU that they will release the waitlist numbers on the 3rd (tommorow), it was also on the wait list form we had to turn in. I will be declining my waitlist number, so I hope it helps you guys!!

I declined all my waitlists that told me upfront a way to do so (which was all but my IS). Two of mine had forms and another said to send a message through their system.
I'm sure just a nicely worded email to the main email you've used for other things would suffice. It might be nice to let them know if you are going somewhere for sure already, but not something you have to do.

The schools did in my case. I think one just said they'd like me to call them back and another actually said we'd like to offer you a seat and to call them to accept it.

None of mine had an 800 number. They all used their local area cods.
