Hey Ellie,

Do you know if Ohio State is still sending our the e-mails to inform you that they have recieved all of your application materials? I know you said earlier in the thread to be patient, but I had most of my application materials in early.

Thanks for any help!

Ohhhhh yes. Haha I actually just saw yet another shipment of VMCAS forms going into the mailing room today, and I heard we still have about 5 more left to receive. When is "early," and "most of your materials? Sometimes what happens is we will receive a piece of your application and file it and then put your folder in the box of "To Be Updated in the Computer" files. Then we might receive another piece of your application but when someone goes to file it your folder is in the box rather than in the filing cabinet, so that piece will go with all the other "loose" application materials. But eventually we continue to go through those materials and they will be added to your application and once they are you'll get the email.

So don't you fret, I'm sure everything is just fine!

Okay thank you!! I sent my things in at different times. I sent my GRE scores in June, 80 hour form in July, transcripts were sent in August, and my supplemental application was submitted a couple of weeks before the deadline (September 20th). The only thing was that my VMCAS took their good old time submitting the eLOR's, so my VMCAS was not mailed until October 3rd.
But thank you again for the piece of mind!

Ohhhhh yes, if your VMCAS wasn't mailed until October 3rd then we might not even have it yet =) No worries!

Out of curiosity (and because many other on SDN applied to Ohio State), did you guys get your materials in super early to score the early interview?
 
Congrats you guys! I loved that OSU had interviews so early. It takes so much pressure off in February when all the invites start to pour in at once! I got really lucky last year and my interviewers called me the same day to offer me a spot. Don't be discouraged if they don't though- most people got a call a few days later (besides, I have no idea if they've changed their system since then). Good luck to everyone! I'm excited for all of you!

I was sure this would happen-and I just want to let everyone who hasn't gotten an interview invite know that you can take a deeeeeeeep breath and relax =) First of all, the early invites were yes, sent to people whose files were already complete. So if you had one of the later VMCAS mailings then your file more than likely probably isn't complete yet.

Second of all, if you sent your materials in early and don't have an invite, that DOESN'T mean you won't get one. This early invite system is just something new OSU is trying this year.

So sit tight, and try not to worry (easy for me to say, right?) There will be plenty more invites where that came from, and you will still probably hear from OSU before you hear from most of your other schools.

Do you (or EllieG) know how long it goes into Saturday evening?

I got my VMCAS in August 29 and the supplemental about a week later I think.

EG, do you know if they are going to send out more invites this week? My status page says that my file is being reviewed by the committee. I'm hoping that will mean I'll hear something soon. :xf:
 
So I got my application acknowledgement email on the 3rd, but I still haven't gotten an email with my username and password to access my status page. Should I be panicking and call the office this week (which has traditionally never gone well for me, as evidenced by the HUGE issues I had with them last year), or should I assume that my app is in the bottom of the pile for processing and just ignore it for now?

I am soooooooooooooooooooo excited! Only part I am not excited about is getting the outfit to wear. I HATE dressing up with a passion.

I'd give Student Affairs a call. What kind of issues did you have last year? Are you talking about your residency issues? I'd just give them a call-Sara and Shayna are super nice and you should have no problems.

I received this email back in early September (I submitted early) and never got an email about a username and password. I ended up calling their IT department in mid-October since the email said to expect the username in a couple of days. The IT department took care of it and set me up, so if you are worried you could do that. It doesn't give you a tracking page (or at least I can't find one) but it will tell you if your application is in review or not.

Do you have last year's email still sitting in your inbox? If so, give it a whirl (if you can remember the password). I tried mine out for giggles and found that it still worked. Also found out I'm missing a transcript according to the files. 😕 However, it says 'initiated'. No word from admissions yet; but I'm not going to fret (nor do I really have the energy to get excited). I'm sure they'll get in touch if they need to.
 
To everyone who hasn't received their username/password e-mail: I just called the IT department (614-688-4357) and they informed me the reason I hadn't been sent a username was because I applied to OSU for undergrad (5 years ago 😳 ) and my username was still valid from then. If you call IT & give them your information they should be able to give you your old login which you can use to check your status page. Hope this helps out!

P.S. Congrats to those who received interview invites!!! 🙂
 
I got an interview too! what is everyone planning on wearing to the dinner the night before? I'm assuming dressy but not suit formal, but theres quite a few ways to go with that...slacks, skirt, khakis...

I think I'm going khakis for dinner 🙂. Haven't decided for sure yet though.
 
So, I know that I am just freaking out and panicking here but most of my friends got emails yesterday confirming that their applications are complete. I still have not recieved an email confirming that my application at OSU is complete, but my application status on BuckeyeLink changed from "Under review for academic decision" to "Your application has been referred to the College of Veterinary Medicine for admissions decision." Does this mean anything? Should I worry that I have not recieved an email yet?

Sorry for being such a worry wort, but I can't help it at this point.
 
All this means is that the Office of Professional Admissions got all your transcripts and our together your GPAs and sent them to the vet school. Even if they have gotten that far, we still may not have gotten to your VMCAS yet. I put together one mailing of files on my lunch break today and there were still four very large mailings to go through. So try not to worry just yet 🙂
 
I got an email today that my file was complete but I had to email them if they had my transcripts. They said we will know about interviews by the end of November.

I just don't want to be missing something and have the e-mail notifying me of that to have gone into my spam or something and I miss a deadline.

Naw, they are still going through them. We have a color-coding system for our folders that we use to make our files and until today we were out of "out of state" folders for a while, so production was halted for a couple days! But we got new folders and are now back in business, so you should be definitely hearing within the next couple weeks about your application being complete or if we need you to send us anything =)

I love it. All this time I thought the no response was due to my immediate file into the dump pile, and now I find out it's due to low folder supplies?!?!? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:laugh:
 
Got the email today that my file is complete! So now I guess the wait begins....or continues......*sigh*
 
Got my suit to wear to the interview today, I am really pleased with it 👍. I usually have such a hard time finding things that fit, but it was a pretty painless experience 🙂.

So because I'm basically completely distracted from the real world because I know interview invites will be heading out soon - I was wondering if someone could give me some basic timeline info.

If you do not recieve an invite by the end of November - does that mean you are going to receive a rejection?

If you do interview - when do you usually hear your decision?

I've looked over old threads but can't really hash out the exact answers to thses.

Congrats! My dad and I drove in from State College, PA and stayed in the Double Tree on S Front Street. I'm sure there are lots of other options too but it was very nice and not very far away

Okay, so now I am really getting worried. I still have not recieved an e-mail indicating that my application is complete and they are sending out interview invites already. Most of my friends who also applied to OSU got invited for interviews today. :scared:

I am an IS applicant. Should the processing of my application have been affected by being out of OOS folders?
