To increase my acceptance rate, should I say I am interested in pursuing a dual degree? It also asks if I am interested in Rural Medical track where I will serve rural or underserved Oklahoma. Lastly, it asks if I am pursuing admission through OSU-COM early admissions or early assurance program, then it lists a couple of schools. Any idea or tips you can give me? Thanks!

A1: I don't know. I know at bigger research schools it might decrease your chance of acceptance
A2: Research the Rural Medical Track, from my understanding you aren't committing your career to serving rural Oklahoma, I believe they set you up on a couple of rotations in rural places so you can get a feel for it.
A3: I don't understand your question

Rural med track students generally have their own separate rotations. At TCOM they have their own sites at rural-based locations, even for preceptorships in preclinical years. Their training is procedure-heavy, and you have to pass a couple of extra interviews to be accepted into the program. I believe other schools have a similar setup.

The dual-degree programs at OSUCOM are somewhat invitation-only, but you can indicate your interest on the secondary.
The rural track option just means your rotations are geared toward being in rural settings, and I think you have to do a short externship during summer after first year. It does not lock you into any specialty or residency program. You apply for the rural track during first year, the box on the secondary app is just to gauge your interest.
Not really sure what you're asking about early admissions, but you have to be a student at one of a handful of Oklahoma colleges for that to be a possibility. Same with early assurance.

I called the school and they said none of those options will increase your chances and to choose what interests you. So I didnt click on dual degree as well as the rural track. Thanks!
