Don’t get me wrong, I am trying to stay positive but that is just what it sounds like from the email responses that other waitlisted applicants and I have received. Schools typically over-extend offers because they will anticipate a certain number of students to decline so just because some decline their offer doesn’t always mean the waitlist will be used. Hoping it does move though 🙂

Yeah my guess is that they over-extended offers to compensate for some people inevitably declining. I'm just curious why last year so many people got taken off the waitlist significantly later than April 15.

yea unfortunately I got the same response on the 6th, I wish they could tell us how close they are to starting to use the list (like how many more people would need to decline their seat) or if it’s just not probably not happening at all
