So is anyone on here going to Purdue in the fall? Just curious. I am on the in state wait list 🙁. I was just wondering because I am not seeing it mentioned much in the other threads, and most people who did mention it said they were not going etc. Purdue is a great school, with great people. If anyone needs help, advice, or info I would be happy to help!🙂

(Can you tell I am spastic being on the wait list???😉)

I didn't apply to Purdue but I know of an another applicant that found out a few days ago that she got into Purdue. It's her second time applying for vet school so she was sooo happy!!

Do they tell you where you are on the waitlist?

i found out right before i went on spring break that i got into purdue (OOS)!!!!!!!!🙂

anyone else got news?

Congrats cuvet! 🙂

I am really excited to be admitted to Purdue! I am just waiting to hear back from Tennessee before I make a decision. (If there is one to make!)

Kat13271, if that time comes, you can definitely expect MANY PMs from me! 😀

I will be attending Purdue in the Fall, I am an instate student...and don't worry too much about the waitlist, I have a bunch of friends that are first years right now and last year they were on the waitlist. So, just keep your fingers crossed...I am rooting for you 🙂

Thanks! That is really comforting. I really hope to get in this year.

:scared:

I am going to Purdue...lol...I am a spoiled Californian. So I would expect to freeze my butt off for half of the year >.<

My dad is thinking of investing in a town house...so if anyone is interested, pm me =)

I am applying again next year, and I'd love to put Purdue on my list. However it's soooo competitive and I don't know if I have the grades for it. Also, I didn't take a lab w/ my Genetics; I believe they do require a lab? Anyone know about that?

Yes, you do need a Genetics lab.

Actually, I emailed admissions last summer and they were willing to accept my genetics with discussion section rather than lab (this is the way my school offers it). If you have any course questions, go straight to the source!! You do not want to make any big mistakes based on hearsay/assumption. As far as competition, my grades were good, but not perfect, around 3.6/C in orgo II, but I had diverse experience and some good extracurriculars/leadership. I was offered an interview. You just never know! Good luck!

They too told me that since my school's genetics lab was a completely separate course and worth an additional 3 credits, I did not need to take it. I think they're pretty lenient about it because not all schools offer genetics lab.

Hey there all, I have a similar question as Kat. I'm currently on the out of state waitlist and was wondering what the chances are of getting in. Should I start preparing to re-apply this summer? Or do I have a decent chance of getting a spot? It's a bummer they don't tell you where you are on the waitlist😕.

Stay positive, as an out of stater you have a better chance of getting in off of the wait list. I am on the wait list for Kansas too, but I am still preparing to reapply this year. It never hurts to be prepared.

hey bch3n! Know who I am? We met at Purdue- sorry, your handle (name) is not that hard to figure out 😉 (This is Jess)

Nice to see you on SDN! Although you've opened up a can of worms joining, it's a horrible addictive and time draining network lol 😀

Unfortunately, I have no idea how the waitlist works, but I just wanted to say hi 🙂

Hey Jess! Good to see you on here. And thanks Kat for the response! Do you guys have any idea how many people Purdue puts on the wait list and about how many of those get spots? I really do want to go to Purdue - everyone I met was friendly and supportive. Can't say the same from what I've heard over here in Davis. Best of luck to everyone else waiting for a response!

Sorry I have no idea. I went to Student Services and asked if they could tell me the number of people on the list and they said no. If you look at the numbers from last year it looks like 2 in state people got in off of the wait list and 36 out of staters got in off the wait list....if I figured it right.😕 Now I am confused and think my math is wrong. D'oh! Sorry I am not very helpful.

36 off of a waitlist? Holy crap. Crazy.

Has anyone heard back from admissions yet? I just got a call from them asking if I am still interested in attending. Anyone else get some good news that they can share with everyone?
