I accidentally filled out my AMCAS Activity for my work in my lab and its a pretty big difference. I've worked in the lab for more than 1000 hours over the last three years but on my information says I only worked there for 8 months for 150 hours. I took research for credit in the lab for two years also which shows that I worked in the lab, clearly for more than the 150 hours I showed. My recommender is also my mentor in the lab. Should I email schools about this? For the applications where they have an "anything else" I put this information there but not sure if I should email the other schools. I also put the wrong dates for another shadowing experience.

Edit: One school also asks for this information again in their own system so I put the accurate information in the new system. Should I update them via email to clarify why there are differences?

Is your recommender including any information in their letter that might indicate that you've worked for 1000+ hours?

The letter indicates that I have worked there for well over 1 year, and goes into all the stuff I have done, which is more than 150 words worth of work. One more point - I have other research experiences on here so if its based on a minimum of hours, I am fine. I have another project from a while back that took well over any minimum suggested hour limit for research for any MD program, not sure if this helps

Honestly in your case you are probably fine then; this is a better mistake than to have over-inflated hours.
