Question about new ADEA AADSAS application updates 2022-23

Specifically on the "Ban the Box" section. Anyone have an idea why that section is being removed(new law or something?). Also, I am guessing that more school supplementals will be asking that question. I wonder if the schools that didn't have any supplementals will require one now because I can't imagine the first time criminal history being brought up is with the Certphi check after acceptance. Anyone have any thoughts about this? (Asking for myself, not a friend)
