Yikes, hai!
You all made me feel a lot better. I don't think it is bothering me. I don't feel like it is. I may bring it up next time I see a doctor. The trainer is a registered massage therapist as well so he knows what he is talking about.

I had moderate scoliosis when I was young(under 10). Borderline to needing a brace, but I refused. I outgrew most of it, but still have slight scoliolis(lateral curve). I don't have too much pain, but I also have really strong back muscles. Farm work growing up was probably the best thing I could have done. 👍

My school was supposed to release grades today at noon, but they're still not up. I know what I got in most of my classes, but its kind of annoying that I expected to be able to see them after work today and they're not up.

I will have to check Paraguard out! I can't take anything with Estrogen in it. I have too many migraines and hormonal issues as it is. Haven't been able to find anything that works without causing problems.

Yeah, estrogen makes me vomit! Even the super low dose ones. I was on the progesterone only pill for a while but it's only like 85% effective, it made my skin majorly break out, and my moods were awful!

Typically they won't implant an IUD if you're under 25 and/or haven't already had 2 kids but if hormones really don't agree with you that works in your favor. I was also adamant about not having kids ... Possibly not ever but definitely not in the foreseeable future.

I get abdominal migraines so I'm on 12.5 mg of an tricyclic antidepressant which really keeps my symptoms at bay ... Also eating right, exercise, and stress management (the common "management regimen" for migraines) 😀

What's an 'abdominal migraine'? I get the full gamut with migraines. The aura, nauseous, dizzy, eyeballs hurt, the whole shebang anywhere from 12 hours to 4 days.

I'm over 25 and don't plan on having kids any time soon, so I don't think that would a problem. I'll have to do some research now. I'd really rather be on something and not chance it.

This is more of a WTF than a rant.

Friend of mine posts a status on FB: Her BF has the flu, so they gave him AND her antibiotics - to cure his flu and prevent her from catching it.

Ummm.....

Either her doctor is an idiot or I slept through way more bacteriology and virology than I thought.

Or she doesn't know what an antibiotic is? Got tamiflu? I dunno, just trying to make it better.

I just looked in like, 10 different stores in town... for a bag of bows in either blue, silver, or white. Just standard gift bows. No. I either had to buy them one by one for like $2 apiece (um, no) or get a bag with red, green, and gold as well. And mostly red. Seriously? Walmart didn't even have a bag o' bows. And I expected more from Hobby Lobby or Hallmark...

I love mine! Although getting my period is like a surprise. Eh, not this month but maybe I'll let you enjoy it all of next month! Lol

For years I would get these atrocious episodes ... I would get hit with intense vertigo (like not being able to walk without my hands on the wall) followed by the worst pain in my abdomen (not localized, like everything in there felt it was under attack). I would get crazy nauseous and vomit everything and my entire body would shake uncontrollably from the pain. The episode itself would last 4-6 hours then the next 3ish days my insides felt shredded so I could hardly eat. I saw several gastroenterologists and had every GI test run in the book ... All normal. I was about to give up then decided I would get a primary care doc in integrative medicine to see about supplements to manage symptoms. On a whim he referred me to an awesome vascular neurologist due to the vertigo. She ran a few tests and diagnosed my episodes as abdominal migraines. Apparently it's more common in children and they usually outgrow them.

Now I have them really well managed (knock on wood). I get mild episodes here and there but they're not bad enough to interfere with my day-to-day life. The last full blown episode I had was about a year and a half ago 😀

I want to know what this scary thing that happened was. And when your appt is again. Is it when you get back?

Scary thing hasn't happened again, so I am forgetting about it. Appointment is when I get back on January 23rd.

Right now, I just want this horrible cold to go away... sore throat and achy joints are making my break no fun.

Dollar Store!

Dollar Store!

Both Dollar Tree and Dollar General were fail - I came home with a mix bag from General but it's mostly red bows.

No. I either blacked out or something else happened, but it has not occurred since so time to move on and forget about it.

Okay, as long as the something else wouldn't involve rohypnol. Really hope you get this sorted soon!

Woah. Kind of sounds like the episodes my friend would get before her period. She'd projectile vomit everywhere or just pass out cold. I forget what she said caused it but I feel like it had some something to do with the egg not going to the correct spot or something with the uterine lining. I have no clue. She's on the pill now and everything is fine.

Not the same thing, but it just reminded me of her episodes.

After interviews are done I'm redying my hair pink. I'll need you to remind me of that permadye stuff lol

SFX (Special Effects) is the brand. Atomic pink for the staying power, or cupcake pink for the happy pillowcases and towels. Or virgin rose for the BAM! That's Nyanko's color, so there's some badassery associated with it too.

Planned parenthood will give you an IUD with no trouble. I got one when I was 20 or so (and def never had any kids).

The IUD is for people over 25 with 2 kids thing has changed in the last couple of years. My doctor told me that the research showed no significant adverse effects in younger/childless women so it was ok to prescribe it.

Apparently if you've had kids it's less painful to have it put in. I'm a small person as it is and she had to manually dilate me to get it in there ... it HURT 😱 ... but it was totally worth it. I've had it for like 2 years now.

While she was using the ultrasound to place it properly she mentioned that I had released 2 eggs that month ... i.e. I could've gotten prego with twins!! I can't even imagine having one, let alone 2 😱 😱

No babies para mi, thanks 🙄

My personal trainer pointed out that I have scoliosis tonight. I never knew I had it. My mother made a mean "you have a hunch back like your grandmother" a few years ago so I have been really self-conscious about how I stand. I wonder if she knew. I am just still a little in shock that someone pointed it out to me mid-push-up. I really hope it is nothing serious. I do not think it is anything serious, but I have had problems with my nerves the last couple of years. A lower back x-ray showed nothing of course because its the top of my spine. Hmm.

I found out at my last gyno appointment I ave mild scoliosis. Apparently most women do. It probably contributes to me straining my obliques every so often. It's not bad enough to do anything about it. It did totally freak me out when I found out. I'm pretty sure it's from carrying a messenger bag with a laptop in it in one shoulder. Also be aware that the slump of your shoulders (I have that a little too) maybe different from the scoliosis that was mentioned to you. Apparently the slump is known as kyphosis. I'll bet with your training, if you strengthen and stretch the right muscles, it'll end up not being as bad as it is now.

Double posted. First the computer said it didn't post and then it posted twice.

I'll just go full nyan and say it - I didn't think you liked teh peen, so I wondered the need for an IUD.

Forgive me if I am incorrect...

Hahaha no worries. I was with a guy at the time... took me a while to realize about the gay thing. Long story.

There actually is an IUD (not the one I had) that has a super low dose of hormones in it and usually ends up totally suppressing your period - so I suppose you could use it for any of the non-birth-control reasons that people take birth control! 🙂

I think it's called Mirena.

Ah. Gotcher.

So you tried to like teh peen for a while. Kinda like broccoli.

my orgo final is tomorrow and we did not learn half the stuff on the standardized ACS final in class...I think im going to throw up.

Mrf. My university's servers have been down since noon today which means anyone on campus doesn't have internet access and people off campus don't have access to class pages or email access (which also means professors don't have email access). Thankfully it's not that bad for me, because I can mostly make do without the resources on my class page, but it definitely isn't making studying for my finals tomorrow easier. I'm luckier than a lot of people who were in the middle of taking online finals when the server went down. School said they would be up within the hour 4 hours ago. So much for that. Oh well...
