I love the doctor I work with🥰. He fired a client today on name behalf after the client was extremely rude and swore at me on the phone. We have had issues multiple times with this client in the past and I’m glad we are done dealing with him.

Lately I've been playing a video game that requires a consistent high-speed internet connection, which I have. (Side note, you can play offline, but it doesn't count any of your progress or achievements.) It also has a frustratingly long start up sequence (I timed it, almost 2 minutes). I've been dealing with a technical bug literally since I bought the game where it irreparably disconnects from the server after 1 hour. It doesn't matter if I've been actually playing that whole hour or just sitting on the menu screen. The only way to fix it is to restart the game.

Now, I've finished the main story. I'm going back and doing a bunch of bonus missions, during which you can't save. I got 95% of the way through one bonus mission that I've been working on for a couple days and I reached my 1 hour limit. Ooooohhhh man I'm peeved.

So here I go again, repeating the same mission again, even though I've literally done the first half of it so many times I could do it blindfolded. :annoyed:

Game is Hitman 3 and I'm playing on Nintendo Switch, if anyone's wondering.

Oh boy I would rage quit so hard

Filing taxes is making me miserable this year. It used to be sooo easy.
I have always used TurboTax but I'm having 2 separate snafus making me wonder if I should restart the process with another company because I don't know how to fix them. One involves my form from doing food delivery, which I had on my taxes last year without issue. It keeps asking me to review something on the form that I know nothing about. This isn't what E-File is for!!! The form shouldn't need review cuz the computer filled it out for me. At least that's how I feel.

stupid boiler isn't working. Woke up this morning and was thinking why is it so damn cold in here? Then no hot water for shower. Oh yes. Went down to the basement and there was the red light of FU.

Luckily, I was able to do half day today to get shiz done. Guy should be here in a bit to fix.

Update: currently i dont have fever or chills but my arm hurts so bad and i'm completely drained and exhausted all day. I barely slept last night because i keep waking up to frozen legs. Heart rate was > 130 bpm for several hours and still high but i think its normal fever response. Will sleep way early today and hopefully will recover tomorrow

My first dose hurt more than I expected the day after my first shot. Felt similar in pain to a tetanus shot.

I can’t say I felt immediate fatigue, but it’s been about a week for me and my energy levels have been low. Whether that’s the stress of finals, the stress of my immune system responding, or both (which is what it probably is) is a mystery.

I had a similar experience after my first shot. Arm very sore, really tired throughout the week. Did you sign up for the CDC post-vaccine daily symptom tracker? I think they're trying to collate more data about vaccine side effects but it's been interesting to fill out

Yes, I have! V-safe

Yeah they’re def trying to collect more data. Made my friend who had a reeeeeal bad reaction to her Pfizer dose 2 sign up that day so they could collect her side effect data

Darn, I was told Pfizer had relatively milder side effects! Most of my co-works got Moderna and almost all of them felt terrible after the second shot! Fever, chills, fatigue, myalgia for up to 36h. We're exchanging shifts so that everyone can rest for a day or two after the second shot.

My mother works for the school system and has been helping administer and thinks people in general have less reactions to the Pfizer one, too.

(I say hopefully, having my second dose scheduled the morning of a twelve hour ER shift...)

She apparently has a reaction to most vaccines 😅
I had moderna (both doses) and first one had just some mild arm soreness and second had that plus some mild nausea the next morning that was fixed with a dose of zofran
Another friend had Pfizer and she had some side effects but not as severe as friend 1 but more than anyone here that I’ve heard of with the moderna

woooo, not a good idea😱Any chance you can switch your shift with someone? And let's hope Pfizer does better!

Whichever vaccine we're using here is causing the vast majority of 4th years to be sent home, if they come in at all. One of my besties was down right delusional. But I've only heard of 2 people in the class as having no vaccine reaction to the 2nd vaccine.

I just got my 2nd dose on Friday of the Moderna. Dose 1 only gave me a sore arm for about 48 hours. Dose 2 had a more severe (but still moderate) sore arm for 48 hours, and I had a low grade fever on Sunday (my body temp is usually around 97, and it was 99.3). I took a nap on Saturday because I was feeling a bit tired, but I was very fatigued and honestly super exhausted on Sunday. I think the bf and I took a 4 hour nap that day, and I went to bed early as well.

The bf had his 2nd dose of Moderna on Sunday, and he didn't experience anything that day besides some tiredness (hence the nap), but then he had muscle aches/chills/a fever overnight, almost exactly 16 hours after his shot. He was fine by the time we woke up though, and all of his symptoms were mitigated by ibuprofen.

Overall, our experiences were not too bad. I would definitely prefer the vaccine and side effects to actually getting covid, so I very glad we were both able to be vaccinated. I have also been keeping up with my V-safe checkins to help the CDC gather more data on the side effects.

Hopefully my second moderna shot isn't a huge mess, but I have it scheduled during a vacation block anyway so that honestly shouldn't be a problem even if I'm totally laid out. I'm kinda sensitive to things in general though so I'm expecting to get wiped out by it

SO got Pfizer. 1st one was no problem just mild sore arm. 2nd one knocked him out-fever,chills,nausea,headache, body aches-had to take the next day off work. He was doing v-safe but they quit checking on him before his second dose- he was one of the first set of people to get it so guessing they didnt have the system totally on par yet.
I got moderna last week. 1st dose felt like a tetanus shot. Second dose scheduled for Friday afternoon so I can die over the weekend if needed.

Is V-safe working for you guys? I worked some of the early vaccine clinics in late December and we couldn't get it to work. We had posters with QR codes on them to download the app, but it would actually just take you to a CDC page describing the app and saying to contact your vaccine provider to download.

(Now granted, I was one of the lucky few who had no side effects other than a sore arm.)

Omg the discussion on the diversity and inclusion VIN news article in the message boards... what an embarrassment to the profession.

The article is about BIPOC vet students putting in the work to better the issue. Cue the old white men getting all fired up about how it’s unfair it would be racist if they started a white veterinarians club. And how admission committees can’t possibly all be full of racist people, and in fact this whole problem right now is all the finger pointing against white people and calling them racist which is what is really the thing that is causing divisiveness... And all these difficulties that minorities claim to suffer through, there are white people who have been through the same! And they keep doubling down over and over when people (both white allies and bipoc) call them out on it, and go “see now you’re playing the blame game! I’m not racist! The person who said that thing you’re saying is racist is the least racist person I know. How dare you call him racist! You’re all what is the problem. The fault is on both sides...”

like, dude, the fact that you get so triggered just hearing about bipoc working on diversity and inclusion that you start spouting racist rhetoric and screaming “how dare you call me racist!!!” when no one said anything to that effect... That precisely is the problem, and why it’s uncomfortable to be bipoc.

:slap:

We also had this issue with some of those who were early (December, early January) in getting the vaccine. We just wound up asking them to navigate vsafe.cdc.gov directly in their browser instead in order to sign up. I think that issue is fixed now, as no one else has brought it up to us lately.

Count me among those who had no issue with Moderna #1 but was knocked out pretty hard by Moderna #2. Low-grade fever, chills, malaise, brain fog... very, very similar symptoms to a bad flu I had several years ago, sans the cough (ended up calling into work, as did both of my coworkers who got the shots on the same schedule). Didn’t really hit until 24-30 hours post-vaccine. Thankfully, it didn’t last long and all subsided by 48 hours post-vaccine and I was completely fine after that. Still certainly preferable to actually contracting COVID-19, of course.

Completely anecdotally, based upon what people have told us after our vaccine clinics: it definitely seems like Pfizer tends to elicit fewer/less severe side effects, especially after the second dose. We haven’t received (and frankly have no idea when/if we will receive) any of the Johnson&Johnson single dose vaccine, so I can’t make any comparisons with that.

People are getting both here

It worked okay for me, but I just used the code on the vaccine paperwork they gave me. I did get confused the other day because I didn't realize that after the first dose they only check in every day for seven days, then once weekly after that until you get your second dose. But otherwise no problems on my end, and it's been very consistent about when it texts me to fill it out

I got the moderna vaccine and after the first dose I had a sore arm for a few days. After the second I spiked a high fever (~102) for four days. Not fun. I had body aches, chills, lethargy, and my entire are swelled so much I was honestly concerned. I was basically incapacitated. I would absolutely do it again and am extremely grateful to get the vaccine, but dear god please don't make me get it yearly.

Ughhh I get my 2nd dose in 10 days not looking forward to that

The guidelines should be revised to only one shot and then a booster shot for the variants few months later.

I got the Pfizer... 1st dose sore arm for 48 hours. Second dose sore arm for maybe around a week, but definite chills, general malaise and just meh feeling. I never got a fever but felt internally freezing and my temp actually was low... 96.2. That lasted around 36ish hours then I was fine. It wasn't horrid, not comfortable but not awful, I never lost my appetite we'll just put it that way. If I don't eat, something be bad. 😂

I had some miiiiild nausea with my 2nd moderna and I could’ve just dealt with it but I definitely took zofran specifically so I could eat pancakes for breakfast

Update: 2 days since my 1st Pfizer vaccine, didn't hurt as much as a tetanus vaccine, mild soreness, that's it. Hopefully my lack of side effects isn't due to the stress of finals week weakening my immune system giving me a poor response...*fingers crossed*

I had no real side effects after my first Pfizer other than mild soreness at the site for about 36 hours, and I was not in the midst of finals haha. Definitely nervous for the second one next weekend though.

AMC provided Pfizer or Moderna to us - so you got what you got. Mine was Moderna.

1st dose: mild soreness in arm for about 6 hours. That's all.

2nd dose: mild soreness in arm for 24 hours, mild headache for 24 hours, moderate myalgia for 48 hours, moderate fatigue for 48 hours. Felt very cold for 48 hours (but never had a fever, did not feel ill, had no chills, no nausea, just felt unusually cold). Fully recovered after 48 hours. Completed VAERS online.

The internal cold feeling was probably the worst part for me out of everything. There was no amount of layers or heated blankets that fixed it and since no fever Tylenol didn't help. It was just so cold. But I'd do it 5466543 times again to not get covid.

All these symptoms from vaccines still sound so much better than covid was lol. Thank y’all for getting the vaccine, I’m ready to put this mess all behind us. I’m allegedly supposed to start Moderna soon. It’s been a process 😵
