Ha! I suppose there is that shipping thing. Well, there are worse things than smelling like apples!

its pretty great - i havent used anything different in years so i'm currently going through that whole stage where i'm shocked and pleased with how wonderful it smells (and may or may not be periodically smelling it hehe)

I wish...that is my everyday. Including most weekends.

On another note, clinics are kicking my butt hard core, and I make an idiot of myself on a daily basis. I'm still in shock. But I survived my first solo patient from receiving to discharge. 🙂

I'm sure you're doing great! 🙂

I feel like I just took a huge weight off my shoulders tonight... I feel so much better getting that out.

Once again...funfetti cake.

That is all.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using SDN Mobile

I made funfetti cupcakes for my last Creativity and the Brain class last week. 🙂 I have plans to make cookies soon, but the container I usually put them in has leftovers in it...

Oh, and another rave: These 3 weeks are going to be great: diminishing classes and increasing time with friends. 😀

It was just announced that the UF CVM has a new dean. Anyone from Michigan State familiar with Dr. James W. Lloyd?

Just received final word from all my professors...I officially get to graduate this Saturday! So excited to put the first set of letters after my name! 😀

We just found out an hour ago so maybe they haven't announced it yet? 😕
They said he did a lot of budgeting stuff. Hope he can do a lot of personnel stuff bc we desperately need it 🙄

2 weeks ago my husband and I fell head over heals in love with a 10 year old kitty up for adoption through the cat rescue we volunteer with. She was on the news and went to an adoption fair and not one person put in an application for her.

Then we had our senior guinea pig put to sleep on Sunday (who we rescued at 5 years old). She had an entire room to herself - we cleaned and put all of her things away but now that room is empty.

So we are adopting the senior kitty that we love - she also seems to be madly in love with us - when we sit with her she rubs all up on us, purrs up a storm, and drools a little bit. The dogs are already used to that room being off limits to them so it will be her own personal space (though initially she will be confined to that room while we do really slow and safe introductions). We ordered a huge cat tree to sit in front of the window that should be here tomorrow and are going to get all the other necessary kitty supplies tonight. I think we're going to bring her home Friday evening.

Sometimes it seems like things happen for a reason - though I'm still sad about losing Rosie, I'm filled with joy to be able to provide a home to another senior animal. I'm sure we'll have another piggy down the road, I'm just not ready right now because no piggy is Rosie 🙁 🙂

Palpated 25+ (I stopped counting!) dairy cows today. The place we were at was amazing - we really got to take our time and feel around and not rush through trying to get it all done in a time frame. And there were cows ranging from 30d bred to 120d bred so we had a lot of variation in what we were able to feel. My "skills" (aka, ability to guess pregnancy status) was definitely improved by the end, and I was even able to successfully ultrasound my pregnant girlies! I almost managed to fetal sex one (Pretty sure it was a heifer but didn't get clinician confirmation), but the little bugger moved and then I couldn't find it again 🙂

This makes me so happy! It's SO hard for senior kitties to get adopted. I'm glad she's found a loving forever home with you! 👍👍

It sounds like she is coming into a wonderful home! What a lucky gal 🙂 I love it when they drool a little...

dooooo ittttt

Agreed. Come to the dark side, we have cookies. 😉

It's been sad saying goodbye to all my friends and acquaintances in this town, but I'm ready to move on. Said my goodbyes to my lab group today and they sent me off with a nice card, a bottle of wine (Blushing Crane from Sandhill Crane Vineyards. A perfect fit since one of the current major research projects, and one I spent a lot of time on, is dealing with Whooping Cranes and some Sandhills), and a K-state surgical cap 😀

One more final on Monday and undergrad is done!

2/3 of the way done with my first clinic rotation--soft tissue surgery. My patient that came in on Tuesday went home today--his mom and dad were awesome. They thanked me for taking such great care of him and even gave me a hug before leaving. 🙂

Grateful owners really make the long days worth it!

relatively good day.

Disney righted a wrong from my visit last month.

Had lunch with someone and it was good conversation. Went for a run this morning - I apparently don't hate it anymore. It was beautiful weather all day until my husband got home so I'm not waiting on him to get home in the rain.

Also, my cats were super affectionate today. The one sat in my lap and she almost never does that.

My other cat is being a creeper.

Talk about a peeping tom! *shot*

I'm on here to get cheered up- I got strep and I appear in court Monday for a speeding ticket. So I'm looking to have a somewhat positive addition to my day. ^^;

After ranting about the fact of not being able to sleep well, I finally fell asleep last night (I think it was around 3AM), but I actually slept without any interruptions, nightmares, nothing. Just sweet, beautiful, peaceful sleep that I so desperately needed. 🙂 🙂 I want to cry from happiness of just being able to get more than 2 hours of sleep. I hope it happens again tonight. :xf:

Awesome.

After a string of less than stellar living arrangements, I can't express how much I love the place I'm in now (moved here in September). I have a basement and the owners/landlords live upstairs. Both of them are super nice. Example: They were putting up a new shed today and had to ask me to move my car, hardly a big deal, I just parked it on the street in front of the house for a few hours. Oh, and there were some powertools going, but I couldn't really hear them and it's not like they woke me up. As a totally unnecesary apology for "being annoying", landlord just appeared at my door with a plate two brownies, two mint Nanaimo bars and a couple of peanut butter balls. 😀

My back feels awesome compared to how it felt all last week. And I am half way through my last work day until I have a week off. 😀

had a really crappy year so far, and I am so ready to turn it around.

I love spring weather. It's 77 and sunny today! Sitting at my kitchen table studying, music playing, doors and windows open and air off, a gentle breeze coming into the house. Feels like I have a porch 😀

🙁 Jealous. Stil 45 degrees here and cold rain. There aren't even buds on any trees yet! Usually, the buds are out mid April. 👎

It's all green here! But don't worry, once everything is nice around you the soul sucking heat will have killed everything here and I'll be hating the weather until fall

We get soul-sucking heat, too. 🙁 I call MN the bipolar state. It goes from one extreme to the next.

Is it bad that I am really, really hoping that I can go enjoy the soul-sucking heat in Arizona for a few weeks in August/September?

Doing the same exact thing with 73 degrees! 😀

Really? Huh. I've never been, so wouldn't know.

Nope. Do whatever you like 😀

😀

It is home. I would be visiting family and probably working. Would be nice to go back home for a little while. 🙂

And the heat really isn't *that* bad.

For sure! You deserve a nice break from school stuff 🙂

And yeah, I guess you deal with it. I'll brace for my imminent annual nasty sun burn, wouldn't be summer vacation without it

My last nasty sun burn was when I blew my tire on the interstate between Arizona and California. We couldn't get the tire off to put the spare on, so we were stuck waiting for 3 hours in the sun (this was in July) for road side assistance. Then I spent another few hours outside in San Diego the next day as my sister came into port from deployment. No sunscreen was used on either day. I am of Irish decent. I was this colour.... 😡 And maybe the same emotion too.

I feel you. I always use sunscreen but I feel like it's a loosing battle. I always get roasted a couple times, but then it's all good and I don't burn the rest of the summer for the most part.

DONE with my cognitive assessment testing! My brain is fried.

And I get to go see Bernadette Peters sing tonight with a full orchestra! 😀 I love her voice.

One of the volunteers at my shelter wrote an email to my boss telling her how awesome I am and it really made my day. I think I'm going to tape it up in my work locker so I can look at it on rough days.

I seriously love my new job. I've been at the ER/ referral clinic about a month now and I still love it as much as my first day. Last night I scrubbed in on a linear foreign body surgery. I seriously love surgery. I knew that before I got this job, but now I love it even more.

Did I say I love my new job?? Lol

I was coming here to rave that my dog did NOT need surgery for a linear foreign body last night. 🙄

Glad you are loving your job!

And I'm SUPER glad that Cabernet didn't need surgery.
