Went skiing for the second time in 2 weeks (also the second time in like 12 years😱).
Nice to be back doing some fun stuff in the winter. Not sure why it took me this long to get back into it.

(also not sure why nobody wanted to fly today🙁)

Don't worry SOV, the only insult was directed at identifying pink and purple blobs under the microscope 😛
as in I was incapable of doing that?
That was a bad memory.

Prof: You see how this one is ___ color and that one is ____ color.
SOV: no, they look the same to me.
Prof: Good luck on the exam. Just guess.

One of my favorites was when there was a slide of 7 different shades of light purple and we were then directed to go to the "light purple layer." :bored:

I'm far from color-blind, though histo made me feel that way sometimes. I can only imagine how it was for those that were actually colorblind 🙁.

I just saw an article today. so not sure how old the tech is
colormax has been around a while, but the customization thing is interesting.

I thought it might be. I hope it's worth looking into
here is the result of my evaluation:

Strong Protanomaly/Protanopia
This is the strongest type of red-green color blindness. A significant number of strong protan cases are “too strong” to be helped by EnChroma. Based on customer feedback from people with similar results we believe there is a 50% chance that EnChroma glasses will help your color vision.

A complete diagnosis of color vision deficiency is not possible using remote testing–we recommend you try the EnChroma glasses and return them if it does not work. All EnChroma products are satisfaction-guaranteed within 30 days of purchase.

Derm gave us the afternoon off since we did rounds yesterday instead of today 🙂 we already had the morning off for "self study" time
I've cooked and frozen tons of meals for when clinics hit, watched a bunch of disney movies, done oodles of laundry... never lost power, and I have no plans for this weekend, either! It's really been really delightful.

A psychic in Florida told my mom that I was going to be a vet, so I shouldn't worry at all! 🙄

Boyfriend took USMLE step 1 back in February and thought he did terrible on the test. He was so sure that he bombed it, so he promised me he would take me on a cruise if he made his score goal. Scores came out last week, and he dominated the test and surpassed his score goal with a 95 percentile! Very proud of him and excited for a cruise (and a life of derm, his #1 residency pick)! Neither of us have the money to go on a cruise, so my parents gave us $1000 to book the cruise! They are the best 🙂

Bam. Rotation for two weeks in Florida scheduled - one week at UF for their Community Cats course, one week at a high intake shelter. Gonna be intense, gonna be awesome. 🙂

Also, my roommate (who recently lost one of her elderly dogs) is picking up a foster dog... puppysitting this evening! 😀

If you live near a Trader Joe's, get in your car right meow and go buy these! So delicious! However, they are ruining my appetite for my awesome dinner of stuffed peppers..

Want. But the closest Trader Joe's is in Center City and it's sleeting out and disgusting out.

I may be in the midst of not one, but two hellish weeks leading up to spring break, but I've had a couple phone interviews for summer internships (one that I think went really well) and just got offered another interview for a 3rd 🙂 Hopefully this means I'll be doing something SUPER AWESOME FANTASTIC this summer 😀

Yeah...my little Corolla doesn't quite cut it. It's better than it used to be in this weather now that I have all weather tires on it. Before, I used to skid in just the rain.
Scary, I stay away from toyautos.

Scary, I stay away from toyautos.

I actually like my car a lot and don't really have issues with it. The original tires were the sports edition or something so they didn't have the best traction for roads that weren't dry. Although, I've heard Subarus are great too from a number of people. I'd consider one in the future, but I has no $$$ to get a new car any time soon.

Blizzards are different than ice. I don't know any car that drives well on streets of solid ice.

It is quite icy here. They don't plow my street since it's not a Snow Emergency Route, so it's basically one giant sheet of ice. We hear so many cars spinning their tires to get out of parking spots. I'm actually surprised I haven't heard a crash from someone suddenly gaining traction and flying out of their spot in the parked car on the opposite side of the street.

The best car I've ever had was a 1998 Toyota Corrolla base model manual shift. With decent snow tires, it was a beast in snow/ice and never failed to start even after sitting for days in -30C. Never gave me a problem and I'd still be driving it except the Maritime winters/salt air finally took too big a toll on the body. Mechanically it was still 100% sound though.

That's great and I've heard that they are dependable, but I really don't like Toyota. I think the whole car-self-deployed accelerated scandal really turned me off from Toyota, even if their mundane style didn't already.

Even though they debunked that?

I love my Toyota. It drives well, gets great gas mileage, and is versatile when I need it to be. It also probably saved my life in that car accident and didn't take frame damage even though it likely should have
