Hi All,
I graduated as a Pre-Physical Therapy Student.
After an acceptance to DPT, I turned it down to pursue a career in medicine.
I have all the prerequisites completed but have not taken BioChem (not pre-req).
My GPA (cumulative/science) hovers around 3.5.
MCAT NOT Taken.
1) Should I attend a *PostBac to enhance my chances, or...
2) take a year off to study for the MCAT in order to directly enter the DO application cycle next year? (save $$$)
*PostBac I'm interested in has a "Linkage" program with our state DO School.
Once interviewed and they like me, they will give me a cut-off GPA & MCAT score that I need to meet in order for them to save me a seat in their DO program. (this goes without saying, but the interview process itself is competitive - Not guaranteed once in PostBac)
Super beneficial, BUT $30K.
Do I stand a chance with the regular pool of applicants, or is the linkage offered through the postbac my best bet?
Any advice appreciated!
