Roseman University Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

I guess all those statuses are meaningless. We should just be patient :)

Hi ,

Thank you so much for sharing, I am currently applying to Roseman, and was wondering if fall 2021 is projected to be the start of the 3 year program?
I have no idea. I was told in my interview that my class would be a 3 year program.. You'll be told a lot of things at Roseman. Take them all with a grain of salt. Certain administrators have a vision of what they want the school to be, but that rarely translates into what it actually is

Not gunna happen while you're there

For most of my time here at Roseman I would have been proud to tell people I was a student here but as of March this year a new clinical director stepped up. Dr. Hupp and he literally ruined the school. This is my honest opinion. My advice to everyone looking to get an interview here is to look elsewhere and I guarantee 90% of my classmates would say the same. Your clinical experience here will not be a good one and the didactic portion will not prepare you adequately for boards which are the main reasons you would go to any dental school. It's just not what is used to be. Go to the U, go to midwestern, go to Western even, go anywhere but Roseman because it's just bad. I tried to sugar coat it before but people, spread the word, Roseman sucks, clinical experience sucks, you won't be prepared to make money after school and that's thanks to Dr. Hupp who goes to hot yoga a few days a week in the middle of the day at the gym across the road instead of overseeing the progress of the student's clinical experience. He will belittle you and disrespect you for 4 years and continue to take away opportunities to learn and grow as a practitioner. As of February of 2020 I was on cloud 9 so stoked for the year ahead and clinic was amazing. He took advantage of his newly gained power in March and while everyone was gone he changed everything and I went from seeing 3 patients regularly per day to maybe seeing 3-4 per week (THIS IS NOT DUE TO COVID, THIS IS DUE TO NEW PROTOCOLS PUT IN PLACE BY DR HUPP). Also, this has severely affected the class below us which will undoubtedly have a cascading effect and will hurt students for many years to come till he's inevitably fired because Roseman will be known for graduating bad dentists with no clinical experience. And if they try to go to 3 years?!?!? Seriously run the other direction haha it will be laughably terrible. Even if Roseman is the only place you get accepted to, considered re-applying. My 2 cents, take it or leave it but you've been warned.

What was the update? Has anyone got an interview?

The update basically says that they are trying to accommodate for all the students who've experienced delays (DAT, transcripts, etc.) and that interviews will be held virtually starting in November and through the Spring

My interview is November 13th.

Thank you for sharing! If you guys are interviewing sooner rather than later it gives me hope that maybe I'll still get the opportunity to pre-december but who knows haha.

So I am super late to this conversation but I am hearing a lot of mixed messages about the school, I was just wondering if its worth interviewing? On one hand because of my stats i have so few interviews and I want to make sure I get in somewhere but on the other hand all of the points that were brought up earlier in this thread look very serious...
I mean i know there's probably no good answer to this but I was curious about everyone's thoughts?

I would say go ahead and interview, especially with how easy it is being virtual... you never know how things will turn out, plus any december acceptance can be used as a bargaining chip with other schools. Once you have one, you become more desirable to other schools as well.

I think you are absolutely right! I have now scheduled for the 20th.
Has anyone interviewed yet? Do we know what the format is?

Thanks everyone and good luck to you all!

I think the first interview date is 11/13. So far I think it is 1 faculty and 2 students that interview each individual.

What are you hearing about the school?

Just things stated earlier in this thread and previous threads regarding the schools program, or rather issues with the program.
I mean I've read positive things about the school and negative ones as well, so I was just trying to gather more information :)

To everyone getting excited for their interviews, there will be students in your interview with you. Make the most of asking them questions about their experience at Roseman. Especially ask the D4 students about their clinical experience. If they are honest, it will be disappointing.

The first set of interviews are this Friday (nov 13). So some people will be able to answer this question hopefully after the weekend.

Would anyone who is currently a student at Roseman be willing to get in touch with me and discuss the school? I just had my interview today and I did like it a lot... Would love to explain where my head is at and get some input on what my experience at Roseman could potentially be like.

can someone please explain the realistic prediction on roseman transforming into a 3-year program? also had my interview today

Do you have more specific questions? I am a D4 at Roseman right now and would be willing to share any/all of my experience.

I'm a D4, they've been talking about "seriously" moving to a 3 years school since I was applying. Every year they say they are closer but don't tell the students much about it. Most likely the entering class will be 4 years but if they switch last minute and say they will be 3, you should absolutely go somewhere else. They can barely stay on top of all the changes they make weekly with COVID. We had an entire class of 100 students quarantined recently and many more quarantined from other classes including the AEGD residents. It's quite chaotic to say the least. Some students are getting way more work in clinic than others. Things are out of hand and Roseman hasn't quite stabilized since COVID. So, prob not a 3 year program incoming but it could be the next which will severely affect the incoming class and could possibly RUIN your education as all clinic time will split between 200 D4 students instead of 100 D4 and I can with out a doubt say this will be detrimental to your learning experience. Some things to think about from someone who has been through 3.5 years of Roseman fun.
