Hi, potential classmates!
I've just found this thread and I just wanted to introduce myself 🙂
Hello, I'm Elcie!

I interviewed on March 12 and I haven't heard back from Dr. DeYoung yet.
Here are my stats:
My GPAs aren't too great in my opinion but they are what they are! 😳

BA in Biological Sciences
MS in Medical Health Sciences
Overall GPA: 3.4
Science: 3.1
PCAT: 97 composite.

In retrospect, my interview could've gone better. My nerves totally took over and I walked out of the interview room wanting to hide in a dark corner and rock myself to sleep..

I've read that some who were interviewed on the same date I interviewed have been accepted! So, a BIG congrats to you all! 👍👍👍😎

It's been super nerve-wracking waiting and I really do hope I get that life-changing call soon 👍

Anybody from Los Angeles here? 😀

Hi Elcie! Your stats are great! I'm surprised that you didn't have your interview earlier (e.g. Jan, Feb).

I felt the same way about my interview. I hope my not so good interview does not lead to a denial letter in May.

Hi cup cake! 🙂
I applied pretty late. I submitted my applications in November/December. Whoops lol. Totally my fault! Did you interview at the same day as me, too? I'll have my fingers crossed for the both of us 🙂

About how many questions were asked at the interview?

Btw (Elcie) I'm in the LA area 🙂

No, I had my interview back in Jan.

As many as the interviewers feel like. There's not a list of questions my interviewers read from.

How many people are pulled from the waitlist for the Nevada campus? I was just informed that I am most likely waitlisted and there are 2 more interview dates, so my rank will not be known until after 2nd or 3rd week of April. I only chose the Henderson campus.

Are you still waiting to hear from KU? Not that I wouldn't love you to come to Henderson with me 😀

I had my interview with KU a couple of weeks ago. I should hear from them in a week or two.

Did you email him?

Did you email him?

I did. I am not too worried, though because I will be graduating from KU with my bachelors degree in May. I am pretty sure this will add alot of points to my admission status once I send him a copy of my diploma in a few weeks.

Just got a call from Dr. DeYoung! 🙂 Very excited to be offered a spot at the Henderson campus :soexcited: . I interviewed on Jan. 29th and have been waiting since. I emailed him and he told me the last interview date is supposed to be April 3rd but he called today offering me admission. So, hang in there guys.. he's definitely making the rest of his calls soon!

If you get wait listed don't give up. I have seen it move 70+ spots. You may not have your choice of campus. But getting in is getting in.

Congrats, California89!!! 🙂

I had emailed Dr. DeYoung and he said they'll be finishing up interviews through the first week of April. I should be hearing back from him by the end of April.

The waiting game isn't so fun 😛

Thanks elcie! Good luck to you! :] I definitely know what it feels like to have to wait.. haha

I think you're trying to say tm79602 can still get into South Jordan. That's good to encourage people in general. However, this person already chose to limit themselves to just Henderson when they applied. Just sayin'.

I chose to limit myself on purpose. Still waiting on my top choice school, so I am not discouraged. Plus, my husband grew up in Vegas, so my choice to "limit myself" was to be closer to his family and childhood friends.

Same here. Be an LA native and having gone to school in Henderson, I met some of the greatest people in the world who are now my friends. It only seemed natural for me to choose NV 🙂

..not to mention living close to Vegas was also a factor (albeit a small one) :naughty:

If you get wait listed they will ask you if you will take a seat at either campus. And you can always move to the other one if a seat opens. The last 2 years the WL moved more the 50 spots for NV and 70 for UT.

Hey all I was accepted the first of March to the Henderson Campus. I did put the South Jordan campus down on my application but I was able to change when I was offered a seat. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

So, I just had my interview today at the Henderson Campus and everyone was so friendly. I just want to share to everyone my experience. If you are nervous about interviewing in April, let me tell you my story and hopefully it will make you less nervous. I know I'm competing against you for a spot at my number one choice of school and the only school I got an interview for, but if my embarrassing story calms you down then I don't mind sharing it. If all else fails, I won't give up and will still reapply again to this school next year. Who knows you might get a good laugh out of my story after reading this.

I interviewed with Dr. Zarley and Rebecca today. I was so comfortable and excited that I ended up showcasing my real personality. So, don't worry you will absolutely feel comfortable. I felt like I got too comfortable to the point that I forgot to talk and act in a more professional matter.

For example, during the interview they gave me a scenario: I planned to go camping with a friend. On the day of the trip I packed everything and already traveled to the site. My friend ends up not showing up. In addition, when I took out my supplies to put the tent together, I forgot to bring the metal pieces to put the tent up. What would I do? Without thinking, I just said something along the lines of renting out a cabin and enjoying myself. People tend to flake out all the time so might as well have a back up plan. Dr. Zarley just said wow to my answer and I think it was a bad wow.

Yes, I know I should have answered it more professionally and give them the answer that they want to hear, but I couldn't help it. My friends and family laughed at me because my answer is so naive. They told me that I should have just said pack up my things to go home or find wooden sticks to put the tent up. I disagree. If I were truly to answer the question in a way I believe they wanted to hear, I would say it differently. Here is what I would have done in real life and should have said but didn't. First, call up my friend to see why he or she is running late. Don't jump to conclusions as to why they didn't show. If they had a flat tire, then offer to come help them out. If they decided to bail out at the last minute then go home. So moral of the story, don't be like me. If you ever feel nervous, know that you can't answer something worse than me lol.

To think back on a side note, I think only answered that way because that question reminded me of a time when a similar situation like this happened to me. Of course I didn't tell them this side of my story though. So, I had this mad crush on this one guy and we were suppose to meet up to go on a trip together. On the day of the trip when I showed up he just sent me a text telling me that he won't be able to make it because he just changed his mind and didn't feel like going anymore. I was so heartbroken that day... I just left, drove home, and cried on the way back home. In addition, I forgot to watch how fast I was driving so I got pulled over and was given a speeding ticket! From that moment on, I told myself that never again will I cry or be sad. Next time someone flakes on me, instead of dwelling about it have a back up plan and go out to have the time of my life!

Anyways, congrats to everyone who got accepted and good luck to everyone who is applying to Roseman.

Your response is actually quite interesting. I don't necessarily think it was a bad wow coming from Dr. Zarley. I also had her for my interview. I thought my interview went bad but end up getting accepted. The hypothetical questions they ask, in my opinion, is to test your cognitive ability and communication skills- how quickly you can come up with a good answer and communicate it to them effectively. Good luck! I hope you hear good news soon!

That's what I was thinking too. So long as it was communicated well then I think your answer is solid. It does sound like a hypothetical question as lilxtweetie described because of its complexity and open-endedness and perhaps the "wow" was to try to throw you off (?). I mean, you're showing the interviewers that you are a positive thinker and prefer to make light of a bad situation - those are good qualities to have and seems like a "correct" answer given the predicament. If they were "hunting" for a specific answer, then the question should have been more direct. Anyway, prepping is good but sometimes you just have to answer a question in the most natural way to show your authenticity. In fact, the story about your "crush" sounds completely valid as an answer also.

I wouldn't be worried if I were you either especially when Dr. Deyoung can tell you early on that you are most likely on the wait list while he tells others to wait later to know our statuses.

Does anyone know how filled the campuses in total are by the time (50%?) the college finishes with interviews?

Did anyone get their enrollment package yet?

I got accepted to Salt Lake City campus and am so nervous but, excited! Ready to get to work for sure! Is anyone looked into housing or possibly needing a roommate? Midwestern here, late 20's, female....

Nothing yet. The confirmation email said end of March and to contact Roseman University if not received by April 5, so I'd imagine that it's on its way still.

email! "Thank you for your continued interest in the program. As of today, it looks like you will be on the wait list for the Nevada campus. I will have a better idea of your specific rank on the wait list at the end of this month."

I'll be officially turning down a spot at the NV campus in the next day or so-I want to send out regret letters first. Hopefully that opens a spot for someone waiting 😉

Thanks everyone 🙂 Truth is, I'm still trying my best to stay optimistic and hoping to get in. I never wanted anything more than this before. I live in CA and all of my family is moving to Nevada in the next couple months. If I get in I get to stay with my family and be close to my mom. She suffers from a heart condition that can take her life any minute so I value every second that I get to be close to her. It would mean the world to me and my mom if I get accepted here. I`m so anxious waiting for the reply.

Any current students (or applicants/ newly admitted students that already live in the area) have advice on good areas to look for housing? Any recommendations on apartment complexes? I'll be moving from Ohio so any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

Congrats on all of the recent acceptances! Can't wait to meet everyone! 🙂

Did anyone that has been accepted receive their enrollment packet today? Dr. DeYoung's email said that if we did not get it by today to let him know. I didn't receive mine and was wondering if anyone else did.

I got the call yesterday, dont lose hope...i would recommend to call Dr.Deyoung after april 9 and ask for status. The utah still has plenty of seats, where as nevada is full and based on waitlist. Did u apply for both campuses?
