Hellooo all.

So I am seriously considering Ross and/or SGU as backup schools for next year, and as I was perusing the material for both, I realized that in addition to Ross being pricier per semester, there is an extraneous 7th semester as where at SGU the first 3 years are done in 6 semesters. I compared the courses, and they are all the same courses you have to take, except Ross has 2 semesters where you only take 4 courses but the price is exactly the same as the 5-6 course semesters. what is up with that? I wonder if you can take more classes during those couple of semesters and try to finish up in 6 semesters rather than 7. regardless, I find this suspicious and want to know if there is a valid explanation for it. Even US schools get the first 3 years done in 6 semesters, and I'd like to get my core done in 6 semesters.....so it makes no sense to have that extra semester and spend extra $$. Does anyone have any insights?

While I don't know with absolute certainty, I suspect it has something to do with the fact they are on trimesters instead of regular semesters. I believe that the trimester is slightly shorter than a regular semester. It's possible they feel it would be too much material to add into an already condensed instructional period. Just a thought.

I'm trying to be optimistic here and not say "it's cuz they want more money", even though there may be some merit to that argument as well.

I'm not really sure why there are seven semesters (on the island), but they are indeed semesters not trimesters and last as long as regular semesters. We just have 3 of them a year and the only days off we get are 2-3 weeks in between semesters (so yes to summer school....YAY!).
