Someone stated that if u get one, it’s definitely obvious! Someone said it’s in the gray box.

I took my exam the week before you 2/11 and 2/15 so this week so this is my 5th Wednesday which is overdue. So even for you this wouldn’t been too soon. I mean they did say target date delayed to 27th but I’m hoping to get it Wednesday since it’s expired status. Wishful hoping! 4ish weeks has been brutal waiting :/

In my extensive neurotic searching for the step 3 trick, I haven't heard of this happening anywhere. so I think as long as it says expired with the grey box starting on Sunday you're good.

got the same message this past weekend, even though FSMB says score reports from when I took it (2/11, 2/18) wouldn't be posted until 3/27. fingers crossed it's this Wednesday and is good news! tired of waiting and stressing about this

I got the grey box on Friday stating your eligibility extension has been approved, you may take your test anytime before the eligibility period. Does it normally show up that early or it has to be on Sunday. It’s still the same grey box

The information you see on that page including the grey box its there since you apply for the exam, the difference is on the status section where it says “approved” on the Sunday prior to the Wednesday of receiving your test score results you should see the “approved” status change to “expired” with no dreadful yellow button to begin a new application. I took my exam for the second time on 02/23,02/25 and my status changed to “expired” on Sunday with NO yellow button. My first time, I saw the status changed to expire and it was accompanied by the yellow button (trust me it’s nearly impossible to miss) which unfortunately for me it was a FAILED attempt. I pray that this time around I passed since I do not have the yellow button.

I hope so too! Looking back on this forum seems to be pretty legit. Ya this is my 3rd attempt so really praying for good news. For all of us!

I really don’t know... mine changed on Sunday. Perhaps since they’ve been delayed on score reporting it was different this time around... I guess we’ll know at midnight, good luck to all!

So I guess for those of us who permit link disappeared and status changed to ‘expired’, we might get our score report at 12:00 am, Wednesday morning (if not this Week, next week)?

Seems in the past some poeple have had status changes on diff days but seems like regardless they got scores the following week if it changed on fri-sun and then the same week if it changed on Monday?

"The target date for reporting Step 3 scores for examinees testing in January and February 2019 is Wednesday, March 27, 2019."

I guess theoretically based on their wording of "target date" with regards to scores coming out March 27th that this potentially could mean we could get them a week early, but I highly doubt it.

Is the trick no longer valid then for those taking exams during delayed score reporting periods?
Seems like everyone got results the wedesndsy immediate the status change?

Um guys, the trick didn't work for me. My exam status said expired and had the grey box and everything. obsessively checked to make sure this was the right indicator that I had passed.

Failed with a 195. literally failed by one point :'( in literal disbelief and shock right now

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that! Listen this was my third attempt. Don’t give up I promise you that you will pass next time with no issues. There is an app for ccs online that is a million times better than UWorld. Do that and your score will go up! Keep going man!!

Passed. Somewhat lower than my other scores but still >1SD above the mean.

For waiting till the end of second year of psych residency and lack of real time to study, I’ll take it. The main thing is that I don’t have to take another USMLE ever again, thank god.

Studying for this exam while in residency with an infant and a toddler to care for was the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do. Thank you God, I’m beyond grateful! For those who didn’t pass this time around, this was my second attempt... do not give up!

What did you do differently? I just started studying for step 3 (didn't match this cycle) so I want to study and take it

I studied for approximately 2 months everyday, M-W I only had time to do a block of Uworld questions per day. On Thursday and Friday I had about 6 hours of studying, so I tried doing 2-3 blocks plus review them. The weekend was my long study hours days and I would do questions and ccs. I used Uworld qbank x2. I left all my biostats questions for 3 weeks prior to my exam which I took about a week to focus on. I bought the Kaplan and only did about 60%, I felt the questions really weren’t helping. I read MTB step 3. I read a few chapters of First Aid step 1 (I would have to look back for the exact ones but basically microbiology, pharm, immuno). I did the 100 ccs cases ( I felt this was an amazing tool). I would make reference to medbullets on some topics which I saw kept coming out frequently on questions and it really helped me. I took 9 days Off before my exam and I just studied for 12-14 hours. The day before my exam I really didn’t do much. I just relaxed and I felt this was a great thing to do, because I felt rested for day 1 of the exam. I only had a day in between my day 1 and 2. That day I only did the free/sample ccs on the USMLE website and waited for what I hoped to be the second and last day I ever sat for a usmle exam!

The most difficult part for me was having structured and discipline in meeting my 30 hours of studying per week but I felt that it was a must if I wanted to pass.

My biggest mistake was not using step 1 and 2 material . For being in pathology I don’t get any exposure to medications, management etc . So everything for me was review again. I thought uworld was enough but not for me. This time I used step up to medicine step 2 and even went back to learning medications and mechanisms. Lots of step 1 and 2 stuff. Again if you are in Fam med or internal at least you will be more recently familiar with that stuff so depends but definitely don’t take it lightly. Take it before residency if you can I wish I did! Good luck!

FSMB status changed to expired. Although my triad expired yesterday as well and no link to reapply.

And the print permit link disappeared. Hope the trick is accurate 😀

My status changed to expired (checked at 6:50AM) and no link to reapply! My period was supposed to end on April 30. I really hope this trick is true!

Sunday afternoon permit link dissapeared, and today status changed from "approved" to "expired", and no yellow link to reapply.

I really hope the trick works!

If we'd failed there would be a yellow link, right? For me, there is just a gray box.

FSMB portal site is down for maintenance tonight...already checked for the step 3 trick, and there's no link..but I want to keep anxiously refreshing it anyhow. Hopefully just 4 more hours till we get answers!
