I am trying to decide what I should major in. I was accepted in my school's health sciences program, which is very reputable and considered to be very good. They claim they churn out good applicants for medical school, but it seems the program is mostly PAs and Pre-Dental students. I want to change my major to double Chemistry and Spanish. Yes, it is possible to do still. The funny part is, it requires the exact same amount of work as Health Sciences would on its own, so the work evens out just fine. I think it will provide me with Spanish, which is attractive to medical schools, especially if I can do well. What do you guys think? Should I switch to Chemistry and Spanish, or stay in this health sciences program? (Also if med school doesn't work out, i can always pursue chem masters??)

Thank you!

Your major does not matter at all for med school. Major in something that:

1) you will enjoy
2) you can do well in
3) you wouldn't mind using as a backup if med school doesn't work out.

If you enjoy chemistry and Spanish, go for it.

Your major doesn't matter at all for med school application, but do concern your GPA.
