In response to the question abt physical exams:
For those who subscribed to their e-mail list, they had sent out an e-mail back in the summer stating that you did not need to worry about the physical exam when sending in ur application, but it will be needed before you could start classes. I pulled out the phrase from the e-mail they sent:

First, we have made some slight changes in our application requirements. For the physical exam requirement, you do not need to send those results in along with your application. The results could be submitted before the first class begins in July 2008. In addition to the physical exam, please remember you must also submit a record of your immunizations.

Also, do they need the physical exam before they can review your application or do they just need that eventually. Like if I am ready to turn everything in, should I wait until I get a date to get a physical or will they not review my app until then?? Thanks guys!

You don't need submit your physical. You can wait until you are accepted.

Do you guys already have your PCAT scores? I just took it in Oct so I am thinking I won't hear from them until Dec even though I submitted my app a month ago. 🙁

I heard some people were accepted w/o taking the PCAT. They received conditional acceptance. Basically as long as they score above 50 they are in. So you might get an interview earlier than December 🙂

I think this is will be a great new school based on my initial impression and interview. SU's webpage has a great listing of faculty now.

GL with your applications. I too am waiting to hear how their site visit went. They need to get the proper status before we can begin.

Well I had advanced work and high scores elsewhere. Nonetheless I did take the PCAT for practice, sent them the scores, and did well on it. I interviewed in August. I have heard a rumor that they will be sending admissions letters in January. Perhaps those will include some financial information.

Here is my main fear: if admissions costs are $35-40K a year, and we are fulltime students, where will we get the $$$ for costs of living. I imagine rent/food/car/books/insurance/health is between $15K and $20K...so the amount needed to borrow is quite a lot. They need to get graduate accredidation for a doctoral program in order to be eligible for the federal loans...otherwise it will be too much. Whom can afford a bank loan to finance this?

But I am confident they will resolve all this by early next year.

I sent in my app around early to mid october. Took a while for transcripts to get in too, im guessing.

So you haven't received any emails about receiving your app and stuff?...i guess alotta ppl sent in stuff too, so it will be a lil longer...don't worry bout it, should be fine, but if u want, im sure u can shoot them an email or call them...gluck to u too

Ahhh!!! You are so lucky. Good luck on the phone interview- I am sure it will be cake.

It seems like an eternity since I sent my app in- 9/27 was my receipt email from them but they were still waiting on 1 transcript. May not bode well for me unless my pcat score rocks.🙁

" We are scheduled to meet with the ACPE Board of Directors on January 10, 2008 in Tampa, Florida, where an official decision regarding our pre-candidate status will be discussed and issued after the meeting. I will notify you about the outcome as soon as we receive the announcement, and we hope for the best. "

i already had my phone interview. it went really really well. it was about 20 mins but they had given me the damn wrong number in the email. goodthing i called the pharm school their. questions ummm lets see why our school, what are 2 good and bad things about u, what is a problem facing pharmacist? , why do u want to be a pharmacist, hmmm what else uhhh tell me about urself, what do u do outside school and thats most of what i remembered. hope that helps.

I keep calling every two weeks to ask them what the status of my application is and the girl on the phone always tells me that they are not reviewing any application at the time since they are preocupied with getting pre-candidate status, yet people here are saying that they received interview invitations... Wow... why would she tell me such a thing if they are sending out interview invitations? I am confused...

I submitted my app early but it wasn't "complete" until my transcript and PCAT score was in. They contacted me for an interview less than a week later. Are you sure your app is complete? You can email Dr Facione for an update.

hey when was ur interview and how long before you got the conditional acceptance...its been two weeks since my interview...pretty nervous.

and for the official letter, I think they have to pass accreditation first, and I think thats in January. That's when they can actually accept students.

Do you think they might get a pass on that rule since they are a new program? It would stink to travel out of town for an interview to a school and then they don't get accredited to accept a class. Maybe that is why they are doing the phone interviews with out of towners. I live in Louisville so I have a face to face tomorrow.😱

i had a phone interview with Dr. Wessel on November 26th...i feel it went alright. She said that it seemed like i prepared alot, i answered all the questions she asked me, so hopefully it was ok. I still haven't heard anything yet...getting nervous...

some ppl got something 2 weeks after their interview, but some ppl say b/c of accreditation and stuff in january, its all hectic there...hopefully we hear something from them soon, and its good news! 🙂

1. The letters of rec have to be sent directly to the school or we send them in along with the application package?
2. The transcripts have to be sent directly by the school?
3. Which GPA do u put on the application since I have multiple transcripts?

How long did it take for them to get back with you after they recieved ur application?
