Sullivan University Anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey guys,
It's time for me to apply now.
I was just wondering if:
1. The letters of rec have to be sent directly to the school or we send them in along with the application package?
2. The transcripts have to be sent directly by the school?
3. Which GPA do u put on the application since I have multiple transcripts?

How long did it take for them to get back with you after they recieved ur application?

thanks

1. Have the writers send the letters of rec.
2. Transcripts must be sent by the school directly to Sullivan.
3. I put an approx GPA since I had multiples.

They sent me an email to confirm they had received my app and what was missing. I emailed them to confirm they had received the transcripts a couple weeks later. I got the call for the interview the week my PCAT scores came in.

uhhm,

i didn't know that the writers have to turn in the letters of rec themselves.

is it alrite put the letters of rec in the application package?

and I had just finished with the fall semester with decent grades that will raise my GPA.
I have been waiting for letters of rec too.

now that everything has turned out well, i just thought that it's time for me to apply, even though it's kind of late.

.

Most schools will be fine with that. Just call them. Pacific Univ that I applied to told us to make a packet that includes everything, easier for the school to track down stuff.

This thread have been dead as of late so I decided to bring it back. Anyone else hear of any good news? I contact admissions yesterday inquiring about financial aid. The staff is extremely friendly!!! I think that is what I like best about the school. Well, the person I spoke to said that Southern Association of Colleges and Schools have just approved of the level change from level III to level V with the PharmD program. So, the good news is that we will be able to receive FEDERAL LOANS.

My pharmacist was the first class at USN and she said that they had no federal loans so she had to borrow all of her tuition from private loans. And the interest for private loan is extremely high.

I haven't heard anything since my interview Dec 12 but I am hoping I will hear something (positive) after their meeting Jan 10. 😀

Good news!!! Thanks for the update!!! Oink2655, Happy Holidays and New Year!!

Anyone hear anything new about Sullivan? I have my interview Thursday over the phone.

Do they ask any difficult questions?

No it's mainly stuff about why you want to go into pharmacy, your experience and what you would bring to the school. They are very friendly and it's laid back. Good luck- I am still waiting to hear something.

Today is the big decision day!!!

Just had my interview. It went well. Lasted about 20 mins and was very easy going.
I was told even though they are at the meeting today, it may take a few weeks for them to hear anything. Once they do though, they will start accepting, rejecting, or waitlisting students.

Thanks for the update!!!! I've been stressing over no reponse for the past few weeks.

How come Sullivan has not posted anything reguarding their visit in Tampa with the accreditation board??? If it were good news don't you think they would have posted it on the website and notified applicants????? Anybody know anything?!?!

Hey collegegirl247,
I'm waiting for the result too .......
According to S_R_N_83 post, he/she said it would take a few weeks for them to hear back. I will take his words for it and I am going to wait a few weeks and then call them to check about this. I need to ask them if they received my Fall Transcript and PCAT anyway.

I had my interview with Dr. Facione on the 10th. He told me Dr. Tran and the dean of Sullivan were in FL as we were having the interview. He said it MAY take a few weeks for them to hear anything about their status because they never seem to tell them anything very quickly.

I know its very difficult, but we just gotta have patience!:scared:

Hopefully we will hear something soon!

I wonder why Harding and FAMU already know about APCE decision. I hope ACPE will notify Sullivan soon. The wait is killing me! 🙁

I would think they already have a list of yes, no and waitlist ready to go out. I work with the husband of a faculty member- I will try to get some info out of him.

I would assume that they probably already know too. See what you can find out.😀

Yay! I finalli get to comment on Sullivan's Pre-cand status. I was at work when I found out the good news but could not place a comment on SDN! G'luck to everyone who is waiting for an answer from Sullivan and see all of the future classmates in July!

I called to find out how soon they would start sending out letters and they said in February

whats the hold up!!! THats annoying!

hey do we get loans for this school like other schools???

Yep, i think they now qualify for federal loans. Look at the previous posts, someone mentioned something abt that.

Application for Admission - Should be submitted to the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy by January 31, 2008

^^I assume thats why we're waiting until the beg. of Feb.

I wonder why some got conditionally accepted and others have to wait seeing as technically they arent supposed to review applications until after Jan 31. (according to the site.)

The reason why there is such a long wait before official acceptance letters are sent out is because Sullivan have to wait for the formal letter from ACPE. Letters should be sent out the end of this month and the deposit will be $500.

I had a phone interview at Sullivan last week. I was asked three questions:

1- why pharmacy? ---> I gave a comprehensive response which the interviewer liked ...
2- Did you apply to any other schools? ---> r u kidding me? I answered yes and he did not even ask me how many or where!!!
3- Do you have any questions? ---> why did they even interview me????

The interview lasted for 8 minutes ...

I am still in shock!!! Why would they interview me anyways???

Did Dr Faccione interview you?

Maybe it was so short because you are already in. Do you have really good stats? Mine was 30 minutes but it was a face to face and the interviewer and I had a lot in common so half of it was personal discussion.

Yes Dr Facione. He is a very nice man.

I am a borderline student with a 3.0 GPA. My first years are bad, but I have over 3.9 gpa my last two years ...

When he asked me "did you apply to any other schools?" he clearly implied that I basically will NOT be accepted. At the end of the interview, I told him "I guess that means I am not getting in" and he answered "Well ..... you never know whats gonna happen, but we have 330 applicants and we only accept 65."

That's odd. My interview lasted almost 20 mins. To me, I would assume that a short interview like that would mean you're probably already in, but you never know...

He asked me if I applied to other schools too, but then he asked if I would have any problems moving to Louisville....

We'll all find out soon.

All I wanted was a fair opportunity to interview in order to prove myself, but that did not happen. He could have "wasted" 15 more minutes with me before making his decision (since I was asked to interview anyways).
Oh well ...

hiiiiiii buddy ..... i m jignesh .. and i want to know about the pharm.d admission .... id there any universities available that not require the PCAT scores for getting admission in the Pharm.d course ...... do help me ...and reply me..

I interviewed back in November and still haven't heard anything... Sullivan is one of my top choices and based on those that have already been conditionally accepted what do you think my chances are? I have a 3.245 cumulative GPA and a 3.3 math/science GPA. And a PCAT score of 83... if you could offer any help about whether you think I stand a chance that would be great, this wait is killing me!

I am in the same boat as you...
it's been really difficult waiting for something from them...since others received an email a week or two after their interview...

Is there another seat in the boat? The wait is KILLING me! I just want to know either way!

G'luck to those are still waiting to hear from the school. Dean Tran did mention that letters for those who have been accepted will be sent out the end of this month. I guess everyone will find out by next week. I sent an email to ask about the deposit and the Dean said that it will be $500.

Also, laptops will be required and the specs will be posted at a later date. 🙂

Aren't the laptops included in the tuition? Also, like danman said, the people who got conditionally accepted..what are your stats and when did you interview?

I don't believe laptops are included in the tuition price.

I think Im gonna have a stroke. It's Jan 31 and they said Feb for letters.....so does that mean Feb 1st they will be standing in front of the post office doors when they open waiting to mail the letters cause I sure hope so (only kidding). Im ready to have this all finalized so I can start planning my move. Whoever gets a letter let us all know when you get it so I can go stand by the road and wait for the mail!!!!!! I sure wish they would have been more specific with the date.
