Sullivan University Anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
good luck to those who already interviewed and those interviewing this week. It's still early in the interview process so there's high chance of getting accepted.

You shoud get your letter this week. I think they make a decision right after your interview. You are being giving points for each question you answer. I saw the interviewers calculated the total points after the interview. My letter was written four days after my interview. It took two days to get to my house.

Thank you for the response. I've been pacing around my house like no other. :xf::luck::xf:

I am really thinking about applying here.

You better get a move on. Sullivan has a rolling admissions policy and it is filling up fast. Here are some tips for you if you decide to apply. You should get your application in the mail by the end of the week. Get a physical and send the results, your immunization records, and 2 passport photos in with your packet.

I live in Louisville, KY so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I definitely won't be able to do the app until after the PCAT next Saturday.
I do have some questions but will get back to you with those once I actually start doing the app.

Have fun with the PCAT. Sullivan does not require it. 🙂

I found that out but I need to have options since I don't know what my changes of getting in would be.

Completely understand. Options are always a good thing. This is the only program I am applying for admission.

How did you do? I have my interview in dec. Any tips?? 🙂

😱

wow your interview in December? this means that all the interview slots must be full. This is too fast!

Is there an echo in here? 🙄

To the Decemberists, I too am in Dec and am somewhat concerned, but overall, I think your stats and interview will make or break your acceptance. They'll likely become stricter on their standards as the spots come to a close. So be sure to bring your A-game :meanie:

In other news, my microbiology teacher signed off on my admission to his grad level immunology class in the spring. I'm totally stoked but somewhat nervous. He said all of the tests are application based but that usually his top students are undergrads. :xf:

Congrats on getting into the grad level immunology class. That is awesome Joe. I know when I was in grad school at UofL, the medical school professor was the graduate school professor for my graduate level biochemistry class. It was a very interesting class, and a nice mixture of graduate & undergraduate students. I remember a lot of the undergrads doing pretty well, however, the graduate students had extra material we were responsible for on exams.

I can't wait to start school again full-time. I might be the oldest in the class though at 31 when school begins.

hmmmm... LEGIT, how you figure that all the interview slots are taken... I talk to a lady today that worked with Paige and she said that many many seats where still open. She didn't act like anything was near full. Also have you all heard about anyone interviewing toward the end of October and into November? So who knows about the December interviews. I sent my package over night and it got there about the 28th of September. Haven;t heard from them yet I assume because Paige is out of office. I think I have a chance to get accepter here. They told me I would probably here something next week when Paige gets situated. You think that if somoene applied 3 months before deadline they have no chance...

Oh is this school taking so many in-state

3.7 GPA
3 years in pharmacy
3 years in other health care
A lot of hours with community service and extrcuricular activites
Kentucky Resident

Wes do you hear anything from them yet? I interviewed there the same day as you and i lived in Michigan, but i didn't hear anything. The dean told me that we were supposed to hear from there this week.
I'm so anxious right now.

Yeah I interviewed there this past Friday (10/2), just waiting for my admission/rejection/waitlisted letter. :xf:

I have not heard anything yet, and I live in Louisville, KY. When I asked Dr. Facione at the end of my tour, he said it would be about a week (tomorrow is a week). I think my wife is ready to kill me as I am overly anxious.

For anyone who received an official acceptance letter. Did you have to sign for your letter or will they leave certified mail in your box without a signature?

You might have a chance but when December hits the end is near.......if people have interview set in December then that means all the slot must be almost out. Many students applied early this year. Even if you are invited for an interview, then your should be by the end of December. THey might extend to January, but this is not a promise. At this point, there are no more slots for November interview. There are lots of people before you. Here is an outline.

SEPTEMBER: INTERVIEW OVER OCTOBER: SLOTS FILLED NOVEMBER: SLOTS FILLED DECEMBER: ALMOST FILL

The lady you talked to said there are lots of seats open becase she didnt count the October and so on people.

"You think that if somoene applied 3 months before deadline they have no chance..." Remember this school is on a ROLLING ADMISSION FIRST COME FIRST SERVE they don't wait for you...............

I am just telling the truth don't get piss off. Good Luck!

You have to sign for a certified letter, no exceptions. They'l keep trying like UPS, though. As for age, Wes, I'll be right on your heels at 30 when classes start. 😛

So, guys, I'm a bit scared. Everyone was talking about how they were asked like 3 or 4 questions....I was only asked maybe 2. My interview started like 15-20 minutes later than it was scheduled to start, and I'm wondering if that had to do with it, but honestly, it was an atypical interview (or at least, that's what I assume). I met a lot of people within that 15-20min period though, and I'm fairly certain that might help me. lol

It was much more informal than what I had thought it was going to be, and I was not nervous what-so-ever!

OH, and everyone who interviews in October(just a note): Dr. Facione told me that the ADCOM wasn't going to review and send out acceptances for another 2-3wks. due to busy schedules.

When did he tell you that? I am just curious because when I interviewed on 10/2 Dr. Facione said we woudl know something in about 2 weeks. Considering I interviewed during their break I figured we would hear something quickly. And my interview consisted of two faculty members that asked me about 10-12 questions. I thought it was still pretty informal though.

Nervous,

Glad you weren't nervous during your interview! There was a post on another thread from pharmd916 who interviewed yesterday as well:

Hey I didnt get a clinical question today at the interview. Interview's ran really short today and only Dr. Facione was interviewing open file format. The guy is the greatest person and he has a great sense of humor. I wouldn't be too stressed.

While I'm sure you would have liked more questions so they could get to know you better, I'm sure you made a great impression by appearing confident and ready for anything. It bites that now you have to wait 2 - 3 weeks but at least you know that ahead of time so you won't be wondering why you haven't heard anything.

Wes (and everyone else),

I think you might be hearing something soon, but he told me that anyone that interviewed yesterday won't be hearing for a few weeks. I guess Paige is out of the office, and Dr. Facione was really backed up.

He kept getting phone calls during my interview, and we were even interrupted once by someone walking into the office. He was nice to talk to, and I even commented and said he was the most important man yesterday. Great sense of humor, but a bit intimidating. I couldn't tell if he liked my responses or not, but I guess we'll find out in a few weeks! The interview was definitely short, but it just makes me wonder why Dean Tran came out of his office to meet me after I had been out in the lobby for about 5 minutes. (He is SO COOL btw!!!)

hahaha I guess this school is trying to be done with all of the interviews. The end is near..................

Probably more because the interviews were on Thursday with school in session.

hi all i just joined the forum and i see a lot of feedback. I will have my interview on 10/15, and my friend had one last week 10/01 and their is only one Question she had to answer with Dr. Frank for 15 min, and she has not heard anything yet. :xf:

Wes do you think this school would interview more than the class size then try to eliminate some?

I think they would interview and waitlist, not reject at this point in time, unless there was a serious character flaw. Some people who get accepted and claim their seat may go elsewhere.

For example, in graduate school one of my classmates took the MCAT and destroyed it, he scored two 14s and a 15...but he got rejected by all of his med schools that he applied to. Why? Serious character flaws.

there are different types of interviews: 1 interviewer (by Dr. Facione) asking 2-3 questions or 2 interviewers asking more questions or 3 interviewers.
I was interviewed by 3 faculty members asking me about 15 questions. so it depends on your luck i guess?

damn..wish I knew about this school awhile ago..I'm getting ready to apply monday..taking the pcat saturday...do you people think its too late to apply to Sullivan?

I think you should apply dima123, it's only $100 and they will reconsider your application next year if you don't get accepted.

"The College of Pharmacy, as in the past, will permit applicants from the 2009 Admissions Cycle who did not receive an admission invitation to reactivate their applications without charge for the Class of 2013, entering in July 2010. All that is necessary is for the applicant to send an email indicating his/her wish to reactivate and be considered for Automatic Admission into the Class of 2013. The email may be sent to me directly at [email protected]." 👍👍

NO pharmcas, just a 5 page application (http://www.sullivan.edu/pharmacy/pdf/COP Admission Application - FINAL 2010 - 6.19.09.pdf). One of the easiest applications you will have to fill. The transcripts you should have the school send directly to them.

Wow!! You have so much info!! Do you know what kind of questions they ask in the interview? And did you finally get your letter yet? 🙂

This is true. I was interviewed by Dr. Facione. He asks about 4-5 questions (not 2 or 3) but he is funny as hell and he makes you very comfortable and he allows you to be yourself. You should consider yourself lucky and priviledged to be interviewed by a legend of pharmacy such as he.

I only got 2 or 3 questions, so maybe it just depends on when you interview during the day. I got the last time slot, so I imagine everyone was ready to go home.

pharmd916,
Did your interview start on time? Mine was 15-20minutes after my scheduled time.....

Legit this seems to be true. At my interview yesterday, I noticed Paige was not there. She is at jury duty for 2 weeks! Stacks and stacks of applications are on her desk that she hasnt even LOOKED AT! That is why it BEHOOVES PEOPLE to apply EARLY (like me, wes, and legit ofcourse lol). There is no one there processing any applications for new people according to my knowledge and interviews are still proceeding as usual (the ones paige scheduled before jury duty). I am glad I got my stuff in before september 19 and got an interview october 8!

for those that just interviewed... did you guys get a tour of the school as well? or was it just the interview?
I also interviewed on Oct. 8 (yesterday) and I had lik 4-5 questions with Dr. Facione alone. but we talked for at least 20 mins. i didnt get a tour though.. i just wanna know if they gave tours to some and not others and if that means anything in regards to being accepted or what??
