Are you referring to "Freedom-2" ink?

My PI for next year is one of their "Scientific Advisory Committee" members. 👍

YES! That's so cool 🙂 I hear they're pushing back the release date because the artists were saying the black isn't black enough. I think it's an awesome idea and I'm really hoping it turns out as amazing as it sounds.

i have full sleeves on both arms, going straight down to my wrist. they can be hidden by long sleeve shirts easily. i've never really worried about my tattoos. they can be hidden when they need to. when i was doing some shadowing at the veterans admin. hospital i was in the OR watching some procedures and i was made to wear a surgical gown (or whatever it was). even when i wasnt wearing it no one seemed to mind and they thought nothing of mistakenly calling me "doc". so if you have tattoos and want the right group of patients go work with vets, they can often see through the BS and recognize a knowledgable clinician. these are guys who are often in extremely dangerous situations and often rely on corpsmen for their primary care in the field. my dad works at the VA and instead of covering his tattoos he's get more all the time. of course he covered them all the way through school.

if your body art speaks louder than your skills, then tattoos have nothing to do with it.

I'm a 4th year med student doing surgery, traditionally a pretty conservative field. I have 2 visible tattoos and a nose stud that I wear to the hospital. No one gives a crap including the older more conservative attendings and I have never heard anything negative from a pt (just my mom.) I would hide it for interviews (I do for residency interviews) but I think people care less than you think they will as long as you act professionally.

So how many doctors actually get some version of the rod/snake? It's a real cool symbol but I'm sure it's done to death.

"If you have tear drop tattoos under you eyes, writing on your neck, or an entire sleve of the grim reaper and flames going down your entrire arm, that could cause some problems."

I dunno why, but that line really cracks me up.

You should throw in any Nazi symbols or anything saying "White Power" to be poor form also as I have seen that more than once (NOT on a med student).
