i would like to announce that under my transcript section there is now a C for complete on my TMDSAS primary!!! It's all been submitted since 9/15, is this a sign I'm about to be processed finally!!??

:scared:
I think so...I think that's what happened to mine. Then some stuff appeared at the top of the profile page. I think it should be done today or tomorrow.

Yay!! 👍

Shout out to all the peeps who interviewed at Baylor....hope you hear word on Friday....I'm waiting on Saint Louis, and its been really hard to concentrate this week. Just finished an exam though....one worry down....many worries left! 🙂

Good luck with your AMCAS school! It will be nice to have an acceptance in your pocket--make this frustrating wait until Feb. 1st much easier 👍

I'm sitting here trying very hard to concentrate and do some biochem--I, like runner1979 find myself lost in thought about Feb 1st :scared:

I got a TCOM interview!!

I emailed my MCAT scores (last part of my app) to the admissions office yesterday as soon as they came out. They looked at them this morning at 11am, and called me for the invite at 3pm.

This is my first invite (I was waiting on the MCATs), so I am super excited, and wanted to share it with everybody.

Good luck to everyone!!

In case you are thinking about emailing your scores, here is what I did, and I did it for all the schools I applied to. I guess you are supposed to wait for AMCAS and TMDSAS and THx to sync up, but what is the worst they are gonna do, delete my email? I also had THx send the scores to TMDSAS, and that says "completed."

I created a report on THx (option at bottom) in order to create a PIN number that the school could use. In the body of the email, I put my scores, the PIN, and a link to the site where they put the PIN in, my SSN, and my TMDSASID# (or AAMCID# as applicable). I also created a word document with the same info and a cut-and-pasted jpeg of a screen shot of the THx report I created (it looks better than the THx regular score screen), and attached that to the email. A little overboard, but I wanted to be able to have them print out something professional to put in my file (if the file was not computerized).

The email submission was also favorably received by UTMB Galveston, George Washington, and USUHS (in DC), which responded that they had put it in my file.

TCOM:[email protected], [email protected] (the second address, Dianne Emory, is the person that actually responded). FYI: The names of the people that schedule interviews are Katherine and Amanda. Amanda works part time. 800.535.8266. They have a couple dates open in Oct and many dates open in November.

UTMB: [email protected], Joanette H. Atkinson
GW: [email protected]
USUHS: [email protected]

Schools that responded to my email but said that they would not accept the emailed scores: Georgetown, Maryland

Way to go, cowboy!! 👍

question...

i retook the mcat. just got my score yesterday...last time, i got a high score on BS, and not as high on PS. this time, i did really well on PS and not as high on BS. VR was pretty much the same...

do you guys know of any tx schools that would actually consider the two higher scores?!? if anyone knows about this policy and which schools seem cool with this, please let me know

thanks a lot...

SFAJess- I will be in NYC for 1.5-2.5 years.. so you may yet see me back in SA. however, itw ould be as an attending... (fingers crossed)

whew I submitted on 9/20, so I guess 5 more days!!! *crosses fingers* why do they take so gd long! GL Sitra!

advice most of you probably don't need, but I thought it might be useful...

I was walking by UTH med school today and saw a couple of people in their interview suits headed for the school. Of course, everyone looks the same. There was one exception, a rather tall young woman in a skirt that barely hit her mid thigh. No joke here. There was a good 6-8 inches of bare leg above her knee, while standing! 😱 She may have thought she looked good, but I doubt it gave the right impression.

Maybe she was hoping that her interviewers would think she was cute and admit her. I seriously doubt it works that way very often. More likely, people saw the way she was dressed and didn't take her seriously. I would venture to say that the trampy skirt length probably decreased her interviewers estimates of her intellect and seriousness as a student.

For heaven's sake, dress like you are serious about the job. Dress like a professional. You can take off the suit and put on the tank top and flirty skirt afterwards!

From what I remember from Dr. Jones' speech at San Antonio, they look at the highest score out of any administration of the MCAT you took. For example, if you scored a 12 in PS on one MCAT and a 10 in PS on a later MCAT, they will "count" the 12, because they know you are capable of scoring a 12 🙂

Good luck! 👍

too far away from the nursing school for that to be it 😉

Since people are bringing this up -

Which medical schools consider the combined score versus the most recent score?

Just curious.

Does Feb 1st seeml ke a million years away for anyone else. I wish there was even some small way we could know how the adcomms ranked us after interviews. This is worse than waiting for the april MCAT scores to come out. It can make a girl crazy 🙂
Anyways, I haven't posted in a while but congrats to all of the people who have been getting invites. It seems as though everyone is doing well. Hopefully we will all get into a school and can meet each other someday 🙂 Although it seems some of you have met at previous interviews.
I hear you! It feels like I'm developing OCD as often as I check my e-mail. The student I stayed with at UTH told me that at some of his other TX interviews, the interviewers actually made statements like, "I will be giving the admissions committee my highest recommendation for you". I was just happy that none of my interviewers called security to have me escorted from their office...I count that as a positive sign.

UTHSCSA. Dr. Jones specifically mentions that during the interview day.

In case anybody is in the same boat as me (boat, get it?):

MCATs were what I was waiting on to complete my apps. I sent the scores from THx to TMDSAS at about 2pm on Tuesday, it said "completed" on THx on wednesday, and TMDSAS had the "C" in that section this morning, Thursday. Pretty quick turnaround, I was impressed.

Overall timeline: TMDSAS processed/sent to schools: 9/29, MCATs released 10/12, updated with TMDSAS 10/14. Sideline: emailed scores to TCOM 10/12, interview invite 10/13. Again, pretty quick turnaround, I was impressed. Anybody else gettin' love from TCOM post-MCAT?

Good luck to everybody!

Just to justify my existence in this thread: I am a submarine officer in Connecticut, but I grew up in Houston. Having a "cowboy" nick in a texas thread is probably kind of lame, but yankees think it is cool, so I invite you to chuckle and move on.

I think its cool...but then again, I grew up in Connecticut and now work in Houston.

Still not processed. It has been 47 Days. Everything was in, including my transcripts and rec letters before the end of August.

When can I start to get pissed off about this? I now have my MCAT scores but my application is still in Austin. I want to SCREAM

Wilton/New Canaan (next to Ridgefield next to Danbury!) Pretty sure my soccer team played against Brookfield a time or two.

Your not the only one with a hold up.. I finished my app a month a go. Did my MCATs two years ago. They have EVERYTHING already and I'm STILL not processed. My secondary is already in too. :-/

I have a feeling they're gonna be finished with interviews by the time my stuff is ready to go.

I wasn't try to be mean or insensitive. The "you make me sick" comment was a joke.

Anyway, I am not sure what is taking them so long. Actually, that isn't true. I don't why it took them so long to look at me application in the first place, but I do know what is going on right now.

It took them 37 days just to open my app and put me right into the problem section. There is a problem with my residency, so the director of TMDSAS has to make a final ruling on my status. I am really hoping to get this sorted out by tomorrow. I had everything sumbitted on August 30th, And I was expecting to be processed by the end of September.

Anyway, there isn't anything I can do about it now, I am just starting to get really impatient. I almost want to withdraw my attempt for Texas residency and just apply as a non-resident. I am sure I will get denied, so this extra week or two will just be a big waste.

All is not lost. I have spoken with the director of admissions at my number one school several times and I get to meet with him on Friday. He said he would set me up on a compus tour, and then introduce me to a couple of other med students. It is kind of like a pre-interview I guess. He seems like a genuine guy and I am glad that I am on his good side.

Anyway, I hope everyone is have a good day.

That't what I'm scared of also. For example, UTSW only has two days left, and they have already started filling the last one in December. :scared:

I received mine throughout the day--I got TCOM and A&M on the same day, both after 4 pm. Southwestern also came after 2:30 pm, as I had come home for lunch, checked my email, and found my invite from them later that night. The other ones came around 1 pm (or by mail).

so tommorows the first day that people who interviewed at baylor can hear back from 'em.
