Same here, but graduated MAY 04 and completed my app over the summer. Still a bunch of zeros for Validation. Last update on 1/15. I know it's hard not too read into all of this but I'm trying my best. Good luck to you all. I love this thread. You guys rock🙂

#An Aggie had just completed his studies and was awarded a BS Degree in mechanical engineering. He was immediately hired by the Texas highway department.
His job was to paint the yellow stripe down the middle of the highway. After three days, his boss called him in and advised him that he was no longer needed.
When the Aggie inquired as to the reason for his dismissal, the boss replied, "On your first day here, you painted three miles of stripe, which is good. On your second day, you painted two miles; not as good, but still acceptable. Today, you only painted one mile. This is too far below our standards."
The Aggie accepted the explanation, saying on his way out the door, "Well, alright, but I want you to know, it wasn't my fault. The paint can kept getting farther away."

My validation date is still showing 00000, but I'm sure it is because I haven't finished up one of my pre-reqs yet. I was interviewed at 4 schools, and they all said that pre-reqs needed to be completed by matriculation. My concern is that by not completing all the pre-reqs, it will count against me in the match. Any thoughts or comments???

No, I last changed mine in December. I have had two updates on on 15th and another on the 17th.

Explanation of the TMDSAS Dates

There are five 5 dates posted on TMDSAS. Four 4 on the Applicant Profile page and one 1 on the School preferences page.

Interesting analysis, thanks. You make perfect sense although I am unsure then why my RCW would have changed on jan 12 of this year since I had all of my coursework and everything else submitted and input by last july and I have been out of school since june 03. No additional course info would have been sent to them in the interim.

I think Evo posted earlier saying that TCOM told him that any problems with pre-reqs would be cleared up after the match and shouldnt affect matriculation. In reality, since most people are accepted under the condition that they complete their degree before matriculation, most people don't have their requirements completed yet, even if they have completed the official pre-req courses.
I worried about my physics class affecting the match, but I have a very good friend who is an MS2 at Tech who was accepted before completing Organic II. I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't know if this will calm anyone, but my last update was 1/7/04, and I got my letter today offering me a spot at UT Houston. So I really, really, really don't think the update date has anything to do with the match results.

I noticed not many attending Tech next year have posted, so maybe I'm the first. I found out Saturday afternoon through snail mail, and my last update date on TMDSAS was 1/16, if that means anything. I'm a reapplicant, as I've posted before, who was accepted at TCOM and chose to attend grad school for a year instead. Well, that's that. I'd love to hear from anyone else going to be in Lubbock next year.

Regarding the validation date- TMDSAS has said it takes them a long time to process these. If your hasn't been validated, they may simply not have gotten to yours yet. All of the info from TMDSAS seems to confirm this. I wouldn't worry about validations.

If 2/1 is on a Sunday and the schools mail out the letters the Friday before. This is what happened last year so many people who lived close to the schools received their letters on Saturday and the match results were not posted until after midnight.

Yep. Last year we were talking about the LMFU. My experience is that I applied to one school and was accepted. My LMFU date changed to and remained at 01/15/04. Personally, I would be shocked to find out that this link (between the LMFU and the match) was discovered some years ago and was never written in stone. You would think that even with only 3 or 4 years of applications, there would be a direct link discovered and perpetuated.

Last year, Evo, Vikvaz, and Lane's LAU changed to 01/24/04. Evo and Vikvaz did not match (Evo for the better since we have him now and Vikvaz ended up getting off a waitlist). Lane matched to UTHSCSA. So the date does not seem to have anything to do with the match.

Relax, easier said than done. I have been there. Many will be happy come Feb 1.

It makes no sense that I would have to wait if I wasn't trying to "match" because I would only have one school on the list.

Is there any way to tell you are looking at a 11:50*pm page vs the 12:01am(match complete -but you didn't match) page?

On your "school preference" page, there is a section titled

School Matched:

Will be posted on February 1, 2005

Yes. It said "No initial match" last year. Don't worry...you'll know one way or the other.

I certainly did like the fact that the Colts were spanked. I would, however, prefer to have the Jets lined up this weekend at home rather than travelling down to Pitt. This time around we do have C. Dillon though. Just the thought of the Sox winning the Series ( I was at game 2 this year thanks to a generous friend of mine) and the potential for the Pats to win a SB in the same year gives me chills. I cannot wait to see some Spurs games while in SA.

FYI - I spoke with a friend of mine today, and she said that last year they actually posted early. She said they had the results posted by 11:00PM CST. 😱 That would be one less hour we would have to wait! 🙂

thats 12 eastern....perhaps they only set it to open up at 12 eastern and that opens it at 11 central and 9 pacific....wouldnt that be nice for any cali folk!
