Hi DLPFC! When (date) and how (email, phone?) were you accepted to York C-D? If you're not comfortable revealing on the board, can you PM me? Thanks!
I dunno about dlpfc, but my POI at York C-D e-mailed me a week ago with an unofficial acceptance, dependent only on their final committee meeting that was supposed to happen last week...

I don't know if it's good news or bad news.

I just called the department and found out that some people were already interviewed, some people were rejected, and some (like myself) are still... well, nowhere 🙂

Good Lord! Not again! I can't believe it. Not again...ugh...limbo. This is horrible...So- Orchid, you just assumed since you had not been rejected or invited that you are somewhere in between? Do you plan on emailing your POI to check-in? You can PM if you want...Thank you for sharing your update.

I hvae to assume I'm in between, even tough it doesn't sound too good. Obviously I'm not one of their "top candidates"...
I don't plan to contact my POI, they have my phone number in case they want to talk 😀 Seriously, I don't think it would do my application any good at that point.

I just spoke on the phone with someone who's considering her offer from USask (she wanted to ask me some questions). For anyone still in limbo there, don't worry because a lot of people wait for offers from other provinces (like BC and Ontario) and end up turning down the prairie provinces. I suspect that another round of offers will go out once the first wave makes up their minds.

I'm scared to hear the answer to this...but has anyone heard back from SFU????

I received my unofficial acceptance from York last week...still waiting for the "official" acceptance from the Graduate Studies Office.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that...did you interview with them?? I did a few phone interviews a couple of weeks ago....and haven't heard anything since...
Rejected... this week by snail mail.

Did you get an email or snail mail? And if it was snail mail, do you live in Canada or the U.S.?

Ok guys.... I just missed a phone call from my POI at SFU, wanting me to return the call tomorrow. :scared: I'll keep you posted when I know more, keeping my fingers crossed!

Email. The letter from the psychology department came today, but it's individualized, not a mass letter for all accepted students so I'm pretty sure all professors are doing their acceptances at their own pace.

Do you mean you got a physical acceptance letter from York in the mail yesterday, or an official acceptance letter from the department of psych or grad studies?

Woohoo!!! Just got a call from my POI at York officially accepting me to the clinical developmental program!!! She said to expect the letter soon.

Good luck to everyone else <3 <3 <3

Rejected from UBC by snail mail today.

Talked to my POI at SFU today (I know him personally) and was rejected. Apparently they have funding cuts and are accepting only 3 students in total for both the clinical and experimental programs (usually they accept 10 students for each).

did your POI tell you funding is cut to 3 ppl?

Forgot to mention....I do know of one student who has been offered admission to the SFU clinical program. She found out today.

This is such upsetting news to hear....do you know who her POI was?

What did the UBC letter say exactly, if you don't mind paraphrasing

"We regret to inform you that your application in our Department was not successful.

We have a large number of high calibre applicants...and choosing graduate students is a difficult task. Because of financial constraints we are able to accept only a very small number of students each year.... We thank you for your interest and wish you success in your future studies."

I just got accepted to the clinical program at SFU (neuropsych track)!!!!!🙂 I received a phone call today from my POI, letter to follow by snail mail.

I asked my POI about the small acceptance rates this year, and she said the cohort size for the upcoming class is a bit smaller than the previous couple of years, but should still consist of 6-8 students in both the clinical and experimental programs. I'm not sure what to make of these differences in responses...

What the heck??? Now I'm confused. Congrats by the way.

Anyone heard anything about the McGill Counseling Psychology program?

I've heard nothing... I guess Ill call tomorrow... but I was just curious (at 11 at night) PM me if you have heard anything (I have taken a breather from this website as most invites/acceptances hit the mail)

Best of luck to everyone!

Does anyone know if it's possible to get your student visa at the border (going in to Toronto)? If so, any idea how that works?

Not really sure how it works but I'm fairly confident that you have to apply for it before you try to enter Canada. I think there is a bit of paper work and physical that you have to do before they'll approve it. Possibly a financial check as well.

This is stuff I've heard of, but don't take my word on it as I'm not certain. You could probably google it.

Hey everyone! I hope that you are receiving some good news these days!! I have a few updates... I was accepted into the social/developmental program at Wilfred Laurier via phone by my POI, and I was rejected by the clinical program at Concordia via email (I emailed the grad program assistant to get an update on my application so you should all be able to do the same).

Got an offer via email to SFU's child clinical program a couple of hours ago!!!!!!🙂🙂

Congrats!!! So I'm pretty sure that what my POI said was incorrect because I heard from a grad student today that there are 14 offers. So weird...

Hey, has anyone heard from OISE at all about the counseling program or the Ryerson clinical program?

Good luck to everyone!! :luck:

Someone's been accepted to Ryerson. I don't know about OISE counselling, but do believe that someone has been accepted to their clinical. Check the first page for the most recent updates.

Queen's has sent out a bulk rejection email today.

I didn't think grad schools did anything on Saturdays here in Canada, considering there's no postal service...ah well, I guess they knew I didn't really wanna go there anyway 😉

I received my official letter of rejection from UBC via snail mail yesterday. It was not a hug shock- once I heard the Canadian applicants saying they had received their rejection letters, I braced myself for a rejection this week. It just sucks. Now, all I've got left to hold onto is UVic, but I've heard they've extended offers already as well, and obviously, I didn't recieve one. Blah.

I just received a phone call from the psychology department at the University of Saskatchewan telling me that I've been recommended for acceptance to the brain, behaviour, and cognition PhD program. They were looking for information for scholarship applications. I guess that means official letters should be out soon.

Congrats and welcome to my school (if you're gonna accept). 🙂

Anyone know yet whether they are turning any offers down?

Rejection snail mail from Carleton for Developmental Psych (non-clinical) today, and I turned down the Brock Lifespan Development offer just yesterday (and felt like a huge douche doing it, but I suppose they're used to that kind of thing right???).

I got accepted to the clinical program at University of Manitoba on 3/20 via email and a phone call from my POI. He said the official acceptance letters were sent out that same day but probably wouldn't be received until next week due to the holiday weekend.

Congrats! I did my undergrad there. It's an excellent environment to work in. Can I ask who your POI is?
