Don't worry, she's easily disarmed by threats of telephone calls or visits to her house
We don't know if that's with everyone or just me though. She's really scared of me. Poor Mommy.

The game will not start on or before Thanksgiving, probably, because we need time to actually design once we know roster size and I don't like playing on holidays, but I'd like to be rolling and starting that weekend if possible.
I'll be traveling back from the holidays that weekend. But since early days are mostly vibes, and my vibes are immaculate, should be fine 🙂

I really shouldn't because I've got my final for my pharm/tox/nutrition block but....who makes good choices in vet school anyway?! I WANT TO PLAY WITH MY MOTHER, BARKS!

Dear architects @supershorty , @SARdoghandler and @kaydubs —assuming we are going to have mostly named characters as the roles which are disconnected from the mechanics of our roles, is it OK for us to reveal our character? Or is there potentially mechanical information that would be revealed by sharing who our character is?

I loathe having games be solvable this way so while we haven't designed this one yet, it is a safe assumption that sharing your character will not help with solving and may hurt it depending on how diabolical we're feeling during design :heckyeah:

(How do you play this game? I’m interested but don’t really see what the rules are or how you play? Also i have not seen the good place but dont care about spoilers)
I will let the more experienced players explain further, but I strongly encourage giving WW a try! Though idk what the vets would say about "role madness" being your first foray

The noob games are role madness!!
@kitzsuna , you read it here--give it a go!

It's really just a social game of trying to figure out who the killers are in a group of players (or ruthlessly murdering all the other players). Generally the players get to vote out a player they suspect of being a wolf each day, and then at night the wolves get to kill someone off. The game ends when all the wolves are dead, or when the wolves have parity with the number of villagers, or occasionally if there is a 3rd faction that meets their own special (usually hidden) wincon. You have abilities based on the role you get at the beginning of the game, which are generally spelled out in your PM.

Most importantly, the mods are amazing and will certainly help answer any questions you may have during the course of the game 🙂
I want to play shorty game but also want to play CYO and don't want to do all these in a row.
bleh
The power of Chris compels you to play.

Have you played the party game Mafia? Or seen the gameshow Traitors? It's like that in forum form!
Every player is given a secret role in the beginning of the game: usually mostly villagers(town) and a few wolves/mafia.
The town tries to figure out who the wolves are and vote them out on day cycles, while wolves kill at night, until either all wolves are gone (town wins) or there are as many wolves as town (wolves win)

The goal if you're town is to figure out who to trust, sus out the wolves and convince the other townies you're also town, and avoiding the interest of the wolves. The goal as a wolf is to not be figured out and take out as many town as possible through convincing town to vote them out during day and killing at night.

Sometimes there are third party players who aren't on either team and have their own ways to win.

In these games the mods like to give people extra powers with their roles that add another level of fun/complexity!

Oh no you beat me by 2 minutes 🥲

@kitzsuna I've offered an option before for brand new players to, instead of playing, sidecar with a more experienced player, which basically means that I put you in their role PM and you can ask them questions and watch how things work without actually playing it yourself.

I haven't talked to my co-mods about it for this game, but I'm sure we could work something out if that sounds appealing!

This is a good option, but you can also just start playing. I read through a couple of previous games before I signed up for my first one. You may feel a little lost at first, but eventually it starts to make sense.
