where is your pre-interview hold and when did you submit your secondaries. because on some threads, people have mentioned receiving interviews after being put on hold and at other schools everyone is put on hold before receiving an invite. good luck

If you're stats (MCAT, GPA) were sub-par, then you wrote a good enough LOR and were a damn good interviewer and they realized they'd take a kid with above-average communication/interpersonal skills than a kid who can read a textbook but can't talk to the wall without making the wall feel awkward.

I just want ONE more interview...PLEASE FROM ANY OF MY SCHOOLS!!

so far, I've had 1 and should hear back in a few weeks. I would actually prefer to just give me this acceptance in 2 weeks rather than have me thrown in the waitlist pile till March. PLEASE LET ME IN I DON'T WANT TO START RESTUDYING FOR THE MCAT ARGHHHHHH. I HATE THAT TEST.

I've applied to 18 schools. 1 interview, 1 pre-int hold, 4 rejections, and have heard nothing on the remaining 13. come on, man! I was complete everywhere by mid-September and expect to at least be hearing SOMETHING back from more schools now! help me out!

Your numbers are insane. I can't believe that you haven't gotten any love from NY.

The anti-CC bias is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in this process.

If the comparison was between CCs and top 25 undergrad institutions, I could see some logic to it.

Still, to accept courses taken at 4th quartile four-year private schools (home to some of the shadiest academic standards around, as they need to move people to the upper level courses) and look down upon courses taken at 2-year schools is nothing more than bias and stupidity.

Intelligent people have good motivation to take courses at a CC: the low cost. Who takes first and second year courses at private 3rd and 4th quartile four-year schools that charge $800/credit? People who didn't get in anywhere else.

Bottom line: the academic rigor in many CCs is far above that of many lower tier four-year institutions.

It is truly inane that there a numerous medical schools that do not realize this.

Destro96, thanks for the props above. Yes it's annoying about the community college classes being seen as a "red flag". I found the quality of instruction to be excellent and I obviously learned what I needed to from those classes. Ah well, you can't win them all....
