I was the only person interviewing that day at my interview. Hm strange.

Hello all! For those waiting on interview invites, or have already received an interview invite, how long did you all have to wait to hear back?
My AADSAS status has been "received/under review" since September and the last email I received from them was acknowledging that they received my application fee and would begin reviewing my application.

Howard received my application fee on 9/11/15 and I got the interview invite on 10/6/15.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post my scores and other general information to see how I compare to some of you other applicants who are getting interviews. I hope that some of you will take the time to respond and give feedback. In addition do y'all think it is to late in the process for my application to receive any attention since my scores are just average??
DAT ---> 18 AA, 17 TS, 23 PAT *** 19 Reading & 19 QR ***
GPA ---> 3.39 (BCP), 3.24 (Science), & 3.17 (Overall) ***Although kind of low, I am taking a full load of classes now and spring semester***
Shadowing ---> 250 + hrs (General Dentist and Specialist)
Volunteering ---> 350 + hrs (and counting….)

Howard received my application fee Oct. 22nd

Your stats look good! Your application was submitted a little late so that might hinder you. But I think your chances are good.

Your scores and GPA are good! Your science GPA is much higher than mine and our shadowing hours are comparable. I would agree that since you submitted later, it might be a disadvantage. Stay positive and hopefully you'll hear back soon!

Has howard sent out rejections? Been "under review" since 8/26...

May I ask what do you have on your app that get you several interviews. I am not trying to be rude, but your stats are average and I saw many people with better stats than you only receive 2-3 interviews.

Honestly I have no idea. Maybe adcoms think that people with crazy high stats will reject their schools for a more prestigious school so they interview applicants with lower stats. But that's just a theory. Stats are just one part of the application they look at other things as well. I also think it's important to apply to schools that match your stats or schools you have a connection with. As far as my application specifically i'm not sure why so many schools invited me for interviews. You would have to ask the admissions committees that are evaluating me.

I haven't heard of any rejections from Howard yet.
Do schools even send out rejections before December 1st? I was under the impression that decisions (both rejections and acceptances) don't come out until at least December 1st.

Some schools send rejections before December 1st, and some let you think you have a chance then send a rejection halfway into the next application cycle. It just depends on the school.

Some schools send out rejections before dec 1st. Howard says on their website that they don't send out rejection letters until April/May.

I got two rejections in the mail from NOVA and Midwestern, IL

I wonder if I would get rejected from HUCD given my overqualified DAT.

DC born and raised.

19 PAT isn't really considered an "overqualified" DAT score

Having an "overqualified" DAT score must not mean much considering the fact that he "applied early" and has only received "2 interview invites" so far...

:whistle:

Lol..tried to edit the part about me out bc I didn't want to make this about me 🤔..ah well loool
Haha it's all good. Nevertheless, The moral of the story is... You never know what Adcoms are looking for. Even if an applicant's stats are lower than others it doesn't mean they won't get an interview/acceptance. So whether you have a 17AA or a 28 AA Keep the faith!

Has anyone else heard anything? I'm getting extremely anxious waiting for December 1st!

I know i'm not the only howard applicant awake right now. I think Ms. Nixon told me emails would be sent by 11-12? I'm assuming 11am-12pm?

I'm being so counter-productive right now. I feel like I can't do anything I need to do today until I see an email lol :help:
