Congrats! Now I'm assuming there are about 25 seats left bc the facebook group has 22 people. SIU is my first choice so I really hope I hear back soon. My interview was in September and not a word yet. Still keeping my hopes up!

I also interviewed in September! I think they just take a while to hand out acceptances
 
The FaceBook page changed from 22 people to 34 people in one day. I'm guessing they sent a bunch of acceptances yesterday.

I know in the email we got after interviewing it said the class isn't normally finalized until May or June. So I think there's plenty of time.
 
Anybody hear anything back lately?
 
Does SIU have a secondary application?
 
Has anyone heard how many seats are still left, and when the next round of acceptances are supposed to go out?
 
Hey friends! I emailed Angela yesterday letting her know I put my deposit in the mail. She said she will be out of town until the 25th, so for those who are waiting, I would expect the next round of acceptances will go out sometime after that!

Thank you for the answer! I was just wondering if I have to write any other essay except personal statement. What does secondary look like?
 
I don't recall there being a secondary essay. There is just the supplementary essay that you had to write at the time of application.
 
There was a simple short essay at the time of the interview. Thats about it for writing.

Thank you! Do you remember on what topic the essay was? English is not my native language and absolutely hate papers and essays. English 2 was so far the hardest class for me ], way harder than organic chemistry :laugh:
 
Did anyone hear anything back recently? I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and am anxiously waiting.
 
I'm going to withdraw my acceptance at SIU, hopefully the spot will go to one of ya'll!

Some of us interviewed in summer and still haven't heard back lol not even a waitlist email.

Has anyone here received a rejection? I wonder if they let students who they interviewed know that they are no longer interested! Accepted to another school but can't get myself to mentally commit because I'm still waiting to hear back from SIU (top choice), so I am hoping we hear some news soon 🙂

I haven't heard of anyone getting a rejection yet. SIUs my first choice to but I've already put down a deposit at another school where else did you get in?

Me too. I got into the other Illinois schools but will hands down accept an offer at SIU. Fingers crossed!

Congrats on that I only got into OOS schools but would go to SIU in a heartbeat hard to turn down that instate tuition lol
 
Neither rejection nor acceptance from SIU for me. Congrats to both of you! You're fortunate to have acceptances. I'm on the total wait list train :/
 
Anybody try emailing admissions yet and asking about there standing?
