****The Official Temple University Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread****

Know how you both feel, I interview with them a couple of months ago and still waiting to hear back. Loved the school and am quite interested in attending. Just trying to be patient and wait for good news hopefully

Are there any activities after new student orientation before school starts?

Also, does anyone need an apartment mate?

Also got my acceptance this morning. Soooo pumped!

Congrats on getting in everyone, I'm still waiting to hear back since my interview a couple months ago. Frustrated and starting to lose hope

Just to ask for everyone who is still waiting.

Is anyone who was accepted today going to be turning down the offer to go to Temple?

Also is anyone, who has not done so already, plan on withdrawing from Temple for another school?

Just trying to get some info for all of us who are still waiting, so any information would be appreciated.

Well glad for you 3, just was gathering info since I know of a couple other people waiting to hear still, so was just trying to get an idea of how much of a chance we really have or if we are pretty much done for at Temple

Don't give up hope yet! It's barely April, I'm sure at least a few more seats will open up.

Thanks guys, also to elliot, much easier to stay cool if I already had an acceptance in hand lol. Still waiting for 1 out of NYU, USC and Temple.

Do students receive a letter/packet in the mail after the acceptance email or is everything handled electronically?

I got accepted on Dec 3rd. All info I got from school since then is via email. I think the school went paperless.

Is there anyone else that has not heard back from Temple (No interview, no rejection)?
My AADSAS status states that I am currently under review, so I am thinking that my file was lost and was never considered by the ADCOMS. Should I voice this concern to Brian or just let it go? There's probably nothing he can do at this point anyways.

I called Temple a while back to see where they were with my application, but the guy that answered the phone said that he would speak to Brian and get back to me. Never did though, although he did say that they had my application on file.

My DAT scores and GPA are not bad at all so I'm wondering what might have happened. I applied late in November, but I met someone at another interview who applied later than me and has gotten accepted.

Now the class is full and a waitlist has already been put together, so at this point, I think chances for an interview and immediate acceptance is slim to none.

No need to be sorry man; I was thinkin along the same lines.

I was just curious to know if there was anyone else that has not heard back from Temple, with no interview news or rejection status update. I'm mostly concerned to know if I was given a fair shot.

I've interviewed at other schools that are "relatively harder" to get into in terms of average GPA and DAT scores, so I'm kinda surprised as to why I wasn't given a chance to interview at Kornberg.

I suspect the culprit to be the shear volume of applicants due to the 'populartiy of the school' and the 'affordable tuition', as well as my 'late application.'

Accordingly, the other schools that I've interviewed at are either "reach schools" with a substantially lower number of applicants, or "expensive schools" with a large number of applicants that are scared away by the price tag.

So I guess in a way, that these "harder schools" (Penn, Columbia, SUNY, etc) are statistically easier to get into, while at the same time being "competitively harder" because of the qualitty of applicants.

Either way, Congratulations on everyone's acceptances! Temple is a great school

Temple is having another interview day in april.

I just received an invitation to interview for a spot on the wait list for April 26th. Anyone else going? Also, does anyone have an idea of how much the waitlist moves each year?

Not worth it at this point. I also had an invitation for next week as well, but I canceled it. I called them up and I was personally told that it would be prudent to have a backup plan. No thanks.

come to your #1 choice!
I lost $2000 to another school but I know this is much better so you should make the switch 😎

Congrats to everyone that has just been accepted! Hope to see you in August!

Congratulations Class of 2017! It's truly a great honor and I wish you all the best! I am a graduate of Temple Dental 2007 and Temple ortho 2010. I lived in the same condominium the entire time. It's the perfect location (Manayunk/Roxborough). Totally renovated and move in ready. I am looking to sell. Please contact me if you have any interest. [email protected]. Good luck in your future endeavors!

hey guys, i got a question for those of you who will be attending temple. At my school, we are on a semester system so one year worth of English is 6 credit hours.

As i was reading the course requirements for applications, this line caught my eye:

minimum of eight semester hours is required in each of the following subjects: biology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physics (all with laboratory experience), and English.

is this a mistake or am i actually supposed to have eight hours worth of English?

I only had 6 for English. I'm sure it's just a typo

I was accepted to Temple exactly a week ago, and I declined today. Hardest decision ever. Good luck to whoever gets my spot...Temple is amazing.

Hi everyone.

Congrats for everyone who was accepted and decided to attend Temple.

I will be starting TUSM in August and I am really excited.

Does anyone know about a facebook page that is created.

I was wondering where I can find a possible roommate for next year.

I am looking to get an apartment down there.

Thanks everyone

Hey guys. congrats on those who got in! Anyways, PM me if you guys are still looking for a place to live. It's in south philly and very convenient for non-drivers (train station 2 short block walk away. 15 minute ride to school. Clean and completely furnished house. new washer/dryer. Each room already has a bed/desk/book shelf. I had 2 classmates from dental school living with me but they graduated this year and moved back home. I have a facebook page with pictures if you wanna see what's up. Anyways, PM me for further info/questions.

Hey guys!!!
