mine was pretty adamant that it would most likely be around 4.15, after mentioning that when CODA approved, state usually has no issue accrediting the institution.
May would just kill me. Hopefully around mid april or a little later..
 
im assuming because they have an inauguration party scheduled already, that they got fully accredited. However as for hearing from them, I hear something different from many sources. Some say it should be beginning of April or mid April, others say may. I guess it's safe to assume that the whole "getting back to us" process about whether we got accepted or not can be at any point in April and even extend into may. I'm also assuming some students will get wait listed as they can't afford to reject students until those that get accepted confirm that they are attending. So it's safe to say that we may be looking at perhaps another month of waiting for any official news. And since classes would start July that's seems to be kind of last minute to give us our status, but what other option do we have.

I interviewed on the first week and the info they told us then about time frames seems to be different than what the students who recently interviewed recieved. For any of you that interviewed recently, when exactly did they say we would be recieving some sort of update on acceptance, April or May?

I interviewed on March 23, and I heard two different time lines. As many others have heard, I heard April 15 as a day to start accepting people. However, another professor who gave the introduction talk said end of April or early May before we may hear back.

Touro is a brand new school, so yeah, it will have its kinks and first year students will be guinea pigs. But all other new-ish dental schools were once brand new and they are doing all fine in terms of passing rate, etc.

I hope you will find something better to do than boosting your ego by bashing Touro and people who wish to go there.


P.S. I know you didn't bash Touro this time, I am referring to your previous posts that you did since I noticed you said something derogatory about someone else's school again for no reason.

There's a reason, it looks like it just flew over your head. I haven't made any comments about Touro here. If you're interested in those, there are plenty in previous threads you can look over to answer your questions.

To be fair this is typical of feralis- wherever he posts turns into an unprofessional bashing fest. He is clearly the common denominator and should stay away.

I suggest using the ignore feature if you're having issues with a person. Changing your tampon may also be helpful with chafing and other sensitivity issues.

Hey guys, has anyone recieved any update from admissions since the email about accreditation?
 
I interviewed March 28 and at that point the latest was they were waiting for NY state final accreditation. He made it sound like it was just a matter of the paperwork getting filed and going through because the inspection had already taken place. They expected it all to be done middle of April. He said they hope to send out acceptances by end of April beginning of May.

Its July I'm pretty sure, because the curriculum breakdown they gave us on interview day had a few summer classes. During our tour I remember Dr. Steinberg said orientation would be July 5th.

They said they are interviewing 500 and choosing approx 110. But how does that make sense if interviews are still happening. I feel like they interviewed more than 500.
 
I would say about 600 applicants
Since Jan ~ April, there were 2 weeks of interview per month and 3 interviews per week.
Each interview is about 24 applicants. 24(applicants per each interview) x 3(interviews per week) x 2(weeks per month) x 4(month) ~ 576

I'm pretty sure there was no interview in January. Also, there were only 2 interview days per week.
For the month of April, they are only interviewing until the middle of the month.

My interview was Jan 27th, first group of interview

There are 3 interviews per week. I had it on Monday which has only morning session.
Wednesday has morning and afternoon sessions so 3 interviews per week. But I don't know how many applicants in each session for Wednesday.

You're right, but we cannot count January as one of the interview months since (as you said) they started very late in January and 27th was a Wednesday.
 
I think 500 students interviewed would be the safe estimate considering feb and March were the only two full months during which interviews were conducted.
 
My friend called and they said Wednesday the 13th is the last day for interviews currently, BUT they might conduct more interviews so we just have to wait and see.

So apparently someone who interviewed on 4/11 said that accreditation is being pushed to end of April or even early may and we will be getting news of acceptances on a rolling basis after that, can anyone confirm this?

Yes, my friend who interviewed today said the same thing. Also they plan to start in July

TouroCDM@NYMC will take no action on any application without the final and complete approval of all national and state accreditation and regulatory agencies. While we hope that full approval will be granted in the spring – we cannot guarantee the conclusion of a process which is under the direction of third party agencies. TouroCDM@NYMC, therefore, can give no promise to applicants that all of the steps will be completed in time for TouroCDM@NYMC to begin classes in August 2016 <---- ??????

wow it will be a big mess if things are pushed. Ppl need to apply for loan plus they need to find a place to live. Its risky...
 
They start in July. They gave us a schedule on interview day and confirmed when we asked questions.

An email I received today from admissions

"we are currently finished with interviews for the season. Once we are fully accredited we will be able to send out the acceptances and rejections at that time. Thank you for your interest in our program. We are hoping to be able to reach out to applicants within the coming weeks."

Did you had interview?
 
Yes feb 9. This email was in reply to an email I sent. Clearly we won't receive a result by tomorrow as we were expecting. From the sounds of this email it may be a couple more weeks
 
unbelievable...it seems too risky getting a decision that late. Many got in december 1st and even jan. Time is too short even to get a place and apply for loan. Risky...
