I got the confirmation letter in the mail on saturday (could have been there earlier but that's the day I checked)!
Cool, and when did you mail in? Aka what was the turnover rate?

When I mailed my deposit, their office was closed. When they reopened on the 2nd, I got a confirmation email from them. What I got on saturday was a confirmation letter like through the mail (don't know why they wanted to send both). I guess it took about 2 weeks to get the letter through the mail.

Ah so you also got a confirmation email. Good to know, haven't received that yet. Thanks!

For those that received an offer of acceptance and paid the deposit, did your status on AADSAS change to "none"?

Hi, I tried looking for the answer on this thread, but I couldn't find one. I got an interview invite today and received the lunch form. Does anyone know if I have to choose one of each meal (one deli sandwich, one salad, one wrap, etc.) or do I choose one overall meal on the entire sheet?

Stupid question, I know.

Hey all! I just got an interview for Feb. 1st! Any advice on the interview format (conversational, hard questions, ethics)? I saw on the schedule that there's two interviews, 30 minutes each. Appreciate any feedback!

when was your app complete? mine was complete mid September, i dont know if the committee is just behind on reading apps or if my app has already been passed over.
Mine was also complete mid September! Wondering the same thing... Was Feb 1st the last interview day overall or just the last offered?

Have questions prepared for the interviewer. I was only asked around 2-3 questions each interview, and the rest of the time was just them asking me if I had any questions for them.

Hello all

Just received an interview invite to here. I am really tempted to attend it, but the price of the school freaks me out (I have already been accepted somewhere). How common is it to receive money from the school?

Thanks

They also give out all their scholarships to pre December students I’m pretty sure

well I know of people (including myself) who turned down a spot at upenn along with scholarships. that money per admission officer goes back into the pool and is offered to other applicants. I do not know for sure if the money goes to people who already have the merit based (unlikely). Most likely, money goes to other applicants that dont have it ....whether that's pre or post dont think it matters that much. merit based scholarships in dental school are a lot of times given as incentives...given to those people that schools really want to have in their class

I turned down UPenn with scholarship as well. However I think the funds are reallocated to those they want ie pre December interviewees.

Which school did you choose over penn?

I interviewed post-December and they told us we could still get a scholarship with our acceptances. Since for Penn, pre-December vs post-December just depends on the time you submit your application, and there could be someone more qualifying of a scholarship in post-December interviews.

This would make more sense, since they are behind on application reviews.

I stand corrected. Good luck then

If it's of any comfort to anyone who isn't sure if their app has been reviewed yet, when I interview last year in early February, Corky told me that she personally reads every single application that rolls in. I believe at that point in time she was just getting around to December submissions. There's no telling what the timeline looks like right now but I believe they sometimes add more interview dates. I think Penn interviews go until mid or late February. Again take this info with a grain of salt because things can always change. Good luck!

🙂
