Quiet!!! Nothing yet!!! .. guess will be like this till first week of April... anyone recently talked to Ryan? any estimate when next batch of acceptance will come out?

A few days ago I was told the class is over 50% full and they are expecting to be 75% full in the next few weeks. First week of April sounds like a safe bet to me.

I just checked my application status today 3/29, and it's still "under review." I got an initial email from USC about 2 months back saying that they looked at my application, but didn't officially apply a decision to it. I haven't gotten any emails about an interview or such. I've read the thread and it appears 3/26 was the last interview? Could there be any more going into April?

I got this email from them 2 months ago:

"Dear USC DDS Program Applicant:

We are delighted by your interest in the dental profession and in the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. While your application for the DDS program has not been assigned a final status, our committee has noted certain aspects of your applications which we feel might best be addressed with additional study, preparation, remediation and/or experience. An in-depth review of your application suggests that you might be a prospective candidate for our BS degree in Dental Hygiene program, or the Dental Hygiene to DDS Pathway program. The application deadline for fall 2013 admission is February 1, 2013."

Anybody else get this?
 
Yes, I got that email too. I don't know what it means. I haven't heard back AT ALL after I applied in June. Only that they cashed my secondary check and I called to confirm my secondary application is complete. Sigh USC. Good luck! I hope you hear back.

Thanks man, I hope you do too. I haven't gotten any interviews from any schools, and USC is my last hope. If all else fails I'm just gonna retake pre reqs at a community college and get my GPA to something more respectable, and then re-apply in 2 years.
 
I applied to USC in June and never got that email about applying to the Hygiene program at all...but then got the interview invite on March 7th. Crazy to think it took them 9 months to respond but luckily they were my safety school and I got into my reach school. Such a crap shoot.
 
To anyone who interviewed recently in March: did your portal/USC status change after interviewing? Thanks.
 
Last year and the two years before that, notifications weren't sent until the very end of April or the beginning of May. Hardly seems fair after second deposits are already due at every other school. It's hard playing the waiting game at this point so late in the game, because not everyone would be financially able to even attend USC if so much other deposit money was put down somewhere else, even if USC is their first choice. I'm sure there is a strategic reason why they come in so late in the game, but I would like to think they could make decisions quicker once interviews are given. This whole process is so mentally exhausting, I basically feel numb at this point.

I really hope they send out notifications sooner than that. It seems that they would considering the last two rounds of acceptances were only a month apart. And I agree with you, this waiting is killing me.

Actually, if you compare this cycle to last year's, I think this cycle moves a bit quicker. Hopefully, the trend will continue, and we'll hear something soon.
 
I thought it is 75% full now as well... Who did you talk to in USC who confirmed it is 50% full? And anyone knows what is the last day of second deposits?

Is any other person here is still waiting for interview? I submitted my app on Nov and still havent heard anything back from USC. Is there still any chance? 21 TS 19 AA cGPA: 3,7
 
I emailed them and they said they interview till remainder of spring semester :/

I think there is a slight chance of them doing more interview. They mentioned on the invitation email that March 26 could POSSIBLY be the last day of interview. Direct quote from the email: "Please note that these (March 13 and 26) are one of the last interview dates for this current admission cycle of 2012-2013." However, they are accepting students on a rolling basis, in other words, they will do interview or accept people from the waitlist until the class is 100% full (you can hear from them even in August).

So, don't lose hope just yet. Not until they officially tell you so. ^__^

ppl i know this is a public forum but please don't post wise @$$ or otherwise misleading information, especially if you haven't called. it's really annoying to say in the least.
 
generally they wouldnt interview more since USC is known to interview 400+

Well, the check application status is down on the USC website so maybe that is a sign of news to come shortly.

Noticed it also. I checked earlier and after I typed in my login info, a message came saying "there is no record of your application"

Now it's down. Hopefully good news soon.
 
dont rely on it so much because this happened before and nothing came out of it BUT hopefully tomorrow is the day

I just checked mine and says alternate wait listed. Check again

I also have this status on my USC portal. That's weird how some people's say waitlist and some say "Sorry, we have no records of your application".

I just checked mine... Same thing; "no records." @aznboi: when did you go for the interview? it's probably because we went to the interview at different times.
