I spoke to one of the advisors and they said that they sent out admissions to fill less than half the class. But he could not tell me how many of those people actually accepted the offer.

I called today and I was told that ”they cannot answer it”...

So can we assume that the class is roughly less than half full at this point. This means that more interviews will be sent out...

I did my interview at USC like a few hours ago and my aadsas status just changed from invited to interview to waitlisted lol what the

Wow that’s super quick! How do you think you did during your interview?

Just got an e-mail interview invite today for February! Very excited 🙂

Hi Everyone!

D1 here from the Class of 2022! Congrats to those who have gotten in so far! Just to remind those who have been accepted, we created a Facebook Group for the Class of 2023. Send a request to join the group and you'll get to meet your fellow classmates, as well as upperclassman, and ask any questions!

To those still waiting to hear back, acceptances should be coming soon! As others may have said, many people in my class got interviews or acceptances in February all the way up until August. So, stay positive!

I'll pop in every so often to SDN to answer any lingering questions, if anyone has any.

Best of luck and Fight On!

I spoke to someone from my pbl group, we interviewed jan 16th and he got in that following Friday. I also saw on Facebook someone posted that interviewed this Wednesday and received an acceptance yesterday. she even posted a screenshot of her acceptance email. im really confused and dont know if I should give up hope or not

It is still very early in the game, Gumball1. Having had your interview date in mid-January is a good sign! While your fellow interviewees may have gotten accepted, it does not mean that you will not. The process of sending out acceptances is a daunting one and those that are looking at your files are doing so thoroughly. Just give it time and you'll hear back soon enough.

One of the things that you could do in the meantime is check in with the admissions department biweekly and ask about your current status to show them that you are interested in attending the school. Another thing that you could do is send out thank you emails to your interviewers showing your gratitude. This extra step goes a long way as showing your appreciation for the interviewers is really important. It speaks more to your character and what kind of dentist you could be in the future.

The last step you could take is providing the school with a letter of continued interest. However, I would recommend holding off on this one as you had your interview only 2 weeks ago. This is more of a last resort option that should be taken into consideration when you haven't heard anything for a few months.

Besides that, all you can do is be patient! Stay focused on your day-to-day tasks and soon enough, your acceptance email will come!

Good luck and Fight On!

What do you mean by "ask about your current status?" Wouldn't they just tell you to check the AADSAS portal? I interviewed in November and still haven't heard back so I'm wondering if I should send an update letter or something to show I'm still very much interested.

They may or may not ask you to check the AADSAS portal. Some of the time, based off my experience with the admissions department, they would give you a little update on your current situation. However, most of the time, they do just tell you that you are on the wait list. The point of just calling in and asking about your current status is to show them how interested you are in the school. You may also email them! They do place every email in your application folder so I'm sure if it was between you who emailed often and another applicant who hasn't emailed every so often, they would choose you because it shows how interested you are in the school.

California Patriot, I would say go ahead and write a letter if you feel it is the right time do so.

This is my dream school and I would be so happy to go here but I still haven't heard anything yet from the school 🙁 . I submitted in Sept. but it was on hold until my DAT verification around the first week of Oct. I sent a letter of interest last Thurs and I got an email saying it was added onto my file. Is there anything else I can do besides wait?

They go silent and then surprise you eventually.

Best of luck

Congratulations!

If you don't mind me asking, did you get a phone call first? I got a phone call today from someone in the admissions, and they offered me an interview for the next day, but I couldn't make it so they said they would give me the next available date. But they didn't mention a specific date, and I didn't get an interview invite email, nor has my status on AADSAS changed. I'm just wondering if the phone call is real or not lol

I didn't get a phone call first. I got an e-mail invite and it had a phone number to call and schedule for the dates given. My status on AADSAS did change after receiving the e-mail.

Hi,
Has anyone received any acceptances today?

Accepted! 11:03 AM PT
Check your email! Best of luck everyone!

Thank you! I interviewed just two days ago (2/06).

That's amazing, congrats. After our interview which was 2 weeks ago, they said all of you on the waitlist, did they tell you such a thing.
Otherwise, they must really hated our group on that day lol

They told us the same thing but I bet your group did well. I’m sure people just aren’t posting their results. I almost never post here but did today because no one had yet answered whether or not USC had responded. You’ll be fine, I’m sure!

For the first year what time do classes typically start? Like 9am? 11am? Depends how early you enroll you get to pick times?

I have some personal things I’m trying to see if I can manage to stay at my place in Northridge and not have it hurt my grades/studying. It’s like an hour to hour and a half depending on traffic. Thanks!!

I think there's a metro line that goes directly to dt from northridge... my friend is planning on taking it, look into it

Xhenaodental,

For the first year, it varies day to day. One day you might be there for 4 hours, another day you might be there working on something in the lab until late at night. It depends on you and how efficient you are. But, just to give you an idea. Currently, we have Mondays and Fridays from 8am-12pm. The afternoon could be used to do lab work. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we have 8am-5pm. Some of the time we have Thursdays off, other times we have to complete rotations for Radiology, Patient Assessment, or have a module on Evidence Based Dentistry or Behavioral Dentistry.

You do have to enroll for your PBL courses, but your schedule is already set in stone. You do NOT get to choose what times you are at school.

I know a few people make the drive over from the valley, but they end up leaving early in the morning because of the commute. Its up to you on where you want to live, however, personally, I chose to live closer to school because of all the time we spend there and to avoid traffic.

Does anybody know how they score the interviews?
Do they have a score range and average out by adding all the multiple interviews and PBL?

Has anyone who interviewed on Feb 13 heard back yet? Also, anyone knows how many spots are available and how many interviews do they have left?

Does anyone know if USC sends out rejections? Or is it a silent game until the class is full?

USC does send out rejections, but very late in the game. They send out acceptances all the way up until your orientation week in August, so don't get discouraged if you have not heard anything yet!
