Apparently the 17's weigh heavily on the DAT because I only got two interviews (VCU in Nov and UMD late Feb) and I'm on the wait list at UMD

Got D.5ed 3/22

Cum. GPA: 3.47 (graduate school and undergrad), Science GPA: 3.46, DAT: AA 21 TS 21 PAT 23; BIO 23 GENCHEM 20 ORGCHEM 21, READING 22, QUANT 21.

I could be wrong on Reading and Quant (could be one point lower in each). My printout is at my work and I'm off today so I don't have it on hand, this is about where I was. Interviewed in October. Obviously my GPA could've used some work.

Today is the day for second deposits so hopefully a few people will get off the WL this week?

From what I've gathered from people I know who got D.5 spots in previous years, as long as you get at least Bs you should be in. I think a lot of what is in the contract is just so they can cover themselves should someone not get Bs, or maybe if someone conducted themselves in a thoroughly nonprofessional manner. Typically though, you really have to screw up to screw this up I think.

I think it's mostly a formality that we apply again. Because technically we will not be IN for Class of 2018, I think we have to go through AADSAS again to be considered for a true D1 slot. Also, and this is still hearsay, everyone I've met has said they haven't heard of anyone having to re-interview.

I'm not sure whether our new LoR is just one TOTAL just so we have one on the books, or whether it means ALL the LoRs from last year +1.

At this point I think it's pretty safe to say that the only other correspondence we'll get is the rejection letter in October-ish.

Yeah, not quite sure what happened there for me. I think I underperformed on the interview maybe? Not sure really. I'm just thankful to have anything at this point!
 
I wonder what the chances are for those that are not on the waitlist and have not heard anything yet..?

VCU's waitlist is fairly short. Around 10? I think you have a decent chance. April 1st was just yesterday. I would wait a little longer before you start worrying.

+1 I was told its not over til it's over by Ms. Tweedy... Wondering if that is still accurate at this point?
 
So has anyone here that interviewed on february 11th/12th receive an acceptance/waitlist/D5 offer?

I interviewed that wk and no I have not heard from vcu regarding anything (acceptance, d.5, wl, or rej).

I was placed on the waitlist on the 15th.
I am so nervous and excited at the same time!

Just checked AADSAS and I got rejected as well. That's rough for me because I'm in-state. I do have an acceptance to Case which I'm very grateful for. I just don't want any SDNers heckling me about choosing a more expensive school! 🙂

Yeah, VCU is instate for me as well... actually, Richmond is my home town. But I'm excited for this new adventure! Congrats on Case!

That's ok you 2. Nothing wrong with not going instate. I'm from Richmond and got rejected from VCU too. Headed to UMich. Far better school. Their loss. The way I see it, the perfect payback is to become disgustingly successful and write a gigantic alumnus check...NOT to VCU.
 
Hey guys! I declined my offer for VCU. It was a tough decision considering VCU is my state school and Richmond is where my family resides! But you gotta do what you gotta do!

I was waitlisted at VCU on March 8th, got a call from Dr. Healy on April 15th, and declined my spot yesterday! So hopefully there will be good news for another VA resident in the near future! 🙂

First off, I just wanted to congrats everyone who got in, and wish the best for anyone still waiting.

I'm planning on applying to VCU in a year for the fall of 2015, and I was just wondering: what's the tuition rate for an instate AND out-of-state student?

I live in Northern VA, but the tuition calculator on their website confuses me. It says about $26,000 for Fall '13 - Spring '14 (in-state rates) and $38,000 for OOS. Are these rates per semester or per year, because on other threads, I see people say that they'd have to pay around 300K for their tuition.

Does anyone have actual information about the YEARLY tuition rates?
 
Did many people get an interview and an acceptance with around a 3.3 GPA? Just curious.

Anyone still looking for housing? I own a three bedroom apartment located on the biggest park in the city. It's being renovated right now and will be ready very soon. 3 bed 1 bath 1200 sq ft. New kitchen, new bath, decks on the water. You pay utilities. Asking 1300 a month. Personal email me for pictures and other info.
