Me too, I will see you there! Very excited, but earlier on this thread someone said the clinics aren't open for tours on Saturdays, too bad.

All DAT 19-21 (PA: 20, AA: 20)
3.4 Science
3.7 Non-Science
Lots of shadowing/assistant work (600-800 hours)

I feel like if I'd applied in the first few batches I'd have more by now, but you never know. :/

Can anyone confirm that they held 500 interviews before 12/3? Now they are continuing to interview into late Feb? How do these numbers match up for a class of about 80?

maybe lots of declined offers / waitlist?
 
they interview ~500-545 total. so my guess is, is that they've prob interviewed 350ish for pre december. and being that it is a new school, i'd imagine that the WL moves fairly quickly.
 
I interviewed last year on the last possible date for February. Several of my classmates including me were in this group! Don't worry about how many spots are available, just focus on knocking out that interview. I remember thinking the same thing when I interviewed, and in all honesty it didn't really matter. does anyone know when the second round of acceptances will go out?
 
IMO since there is an interview date set for January 11th, I am assuming they would evaluate this group before sending out the second round of acceptances. I hope we hear some good news tomorrow tho 😕

Actually, following last year's cycle the next round of acceptances should of either been last Friday (4th) or this coming Friday (11th), not tomorrow.

I didn't know about the January 11th interview date, but what Nana said does make sense. Regardless, I don't think the next round will come until the Friday earliest, but I could very well be wrong.

Just got the call as well! I am very grateful but will be giving up my spot, good news for those of you still waiting for a call in the future from this great institution!

just got a call. no aadsas update! They're still calling so it's not too late. Already have a deposit down at another school so probably declining

For those of you who were accepted yesterday, did they give you a date/deadline to respond?
 
I also got the call last night! First acceptance!

I was told I would have 30 days to make the deposit.
 
i just found out i got a call from them last night but i missed it and they left a voicemail. do they only call if you are getting accepted? i'm waiting to call since they may not be in the office yet.

I got the call yesterday too. Now deciding between WesternU and NYU.
 
random question.. how did you create the group without initially adding someone? it doesn't allow me to create a group without adding at least one name to invite..

If you haven't received a call, you should expect your decision in the mail. I contacted admissions and they said wait list and rejections have been sent out via mail.
 
anyone know about when you can expect the acceptance packet to arrive?
 
lol i want it now!!! i dont feel its official until i have something physical in my hands. am i weird for thinking like this?
 
I spoke with Admissions and they said they were waiting for the Dean to sign all the letters before sending them out. This was yesterday. Should be coming in sometime next week (early to mid I would think, depending on how far you are from CA).
 
Man I really wanted to hear good news 🙁 now time for the agonizing wait for snail mail to see if it's a rejection or waitlist. If we don't get anything does that mean we are still under consideration??
 
I actually just sent an update letter to Western yesterday. Dr. F replied to me, saying that he just signed an alternate letter for me and will keep my correspondence in his office. Does this mean that I'm on the waitlist? If so, that's great! there's still hope. 🙂

Interesting - Did you send the update letter directly to Dr. Friedrichsen (I'd imagine this is who you mean by Dr. F?) or did you address it to the Admissions Committee and send it to the office?

Also, just an FYI, Dr. Friedrichsen said during his Q&A Session that he has no say/vote in the admissions process. Just throwing that out there, for what it's worth. Good luck though :luck: It does appear that you have been placed onto the waitlist, which is good news! 👍

I think preDENT1210 just meant he needs something in hand as opposed to something digital, like a phone call or e-mail (since some schools do e-mail), not that he got an e-mail from Western specifically. Since preDENT is declining the acceptance, I would imagine he has acceptance(s) elsewhere (Congrats 👍) and they e-mailed.
