the approval of the new grades take a week or two for accomas, but when thats already approved then they new gpa will be sent to schools every tuesday night, but most schools are a week or two behind on their downloads so it might take them more than a week to recieve the new downloads. So wait a week after accomas lets you know your transcripts are updated and then you can start calling schools to see whats going on

But seriously congrats man! Gives the rest of us hope! (or at least me). Im waiting for my second science reference letter and its seriously delaying me. I have only been able to send everything into CCOM, AZCOM, Western, and KCOM. Still waiting for KCOM to confirm receiving all my stuff though. It sucks cuz I got TOURO-NY interview but dont have the 2nd science LOR lol
 
I am so STOKED right now! Interview invite from Western!! Oct 9!! If i am this excited about the interview, i might have a minor myocardial infarction if (when :xf:) I get accepted. 😀

CONGRATS!!! I really really want a Western interview also but I'm not too confident. I'm happy with the ones I've gotten thus far.

Just out of curiosity, has there been a status change on banweb for you???

As of earlier today, no change, still says everything is complete and ready for review. Thx guys! It's still early in the western interview scheduled. I mean October 9th is 3 weeks away. They have plenty of interviews left, I am sure you guys will get 'em.
 
Just curiuos about interviews.....

Say a school interviews 500 people and accepts roughly half. Could one say that it is pretty evident who will be accepted to the interviewers? For those of you that have ever interviewed.....could you pretty much tell who lacked communication skills, or is everyone stellar (personality/conversationally wise)?

I guess I am wondering what percentage of people that get an interview (those that looked great on paper) can't present themselves well to those at the school?

I am SUPER nervous that even with a great interview my low scores in the PS section of the MCAT will still bite me in the rear.....what are your thoughts?

I know I have "made it this far" and it wasn't an issue in order to get an interview, but you hear crazy stories of students interviewing and then being told that their interview was great but their MCAT is a little low. Do you think if there wasn't an overall "good vibe" with the candidate that it is an easy way for the school to say no thanks...you don't fit?

Ha....just a little nervous because so far this is my first/only interview invite....:eyebrow:

if you've got the interview just be charming and sociable. you'll be fine.
 
Just got back from my flight home from AZCOM. Loved it!!! I posted my thoughts in the AZCOM school thread, but just wanted to check in with my fellow underdogs 🙂

I just had my first / only interview last week, and I know this is much easier said than done, but PLEASE just be yourself and don't be nervous. I am very, very personable but I was entirely too nervous during the interview and caught myself rambling on a particular question and answering it in the completely wrong way. The question was incredibly easy, and the interviewers (as well as everybody else I met there) were incredibly kind and helpful. When I walked out, I still felt it went well but not as well as it could have gone, all because I was unnecessarily nervous. Unfortunately, I had to have a mediocre performance in an interview at a school I fell in love with in order to learn the lesson that the interviewers really just want to get to know you a bit and that they are your advocates and not your adversaries.

Long story short: It's tough to shake the first interview jitters, but if you can you will be in a great place. The moment you walk out, you will be wondering why you were ever nervous in the first place. I hope that my story can help to put you at ease, at least somewhat. Best of luck to you! :luck:

yeah, rejections from CCOM!!! hahaha. i really don't care. they were kind enough to do it via snail mail and i knew it was a reach anyway.

Just got a call for an interview at LECOM-Bradenton! Can't wait to visit Florida! haha

Congrats!! I just got done with my third interview since Friday and am leaving for Albany tomorrow (like 2 hours after a Genetics exam, I hope I make the flight because they are installing new security stuff at my airport and it's been super backed up going through the security line lately 🙁 ). Blahhh I can't wait until Thursday evening when I get home, I have a break finally lol
 
well I consider today a good day for me! I just received my 2nd mcat score and I went up 5 points from a 23 to a 28. Diagnostic was originally a 17 so I'm stoked! I know that may not still sound like a good score, but it was huge for me, someone who does not do well on that test. Hoping for some love and that the schools that already screened me out may somehow take another look at me. does anyone know how to get them to open it back up for you? such as an email to the admissions department or does AACOMAS automatically do that?

AACOMAS will inform them your application has been updated but if you have already been rejected from a school I would call them and inform them that you have a new score and politely ask that they reconsider your file. You may have mixed results. Good luck.

retook MCAT on 9/11- went okay. same as last time :/. we'll see.

your list looks "top-heavy" even for DO schools.
 
Can I be an underdog? cgpa 3.55 sgpa 3.09 (3.1?) MCAT 26 (11V 9B 6PS<---🙁). I just decided to apply to DO schools for Fall 2011 so I know I am late. I submitted everything to AACOMAS 2 weeks ago, but it took awhile for my transcripts to get there and be processed, so I was complete today. So far, I have applied to CCOM, PCOM, NYCOM, KCUMB, ATSU-KCOM, LMU-DCOM, AZCOM and DMU. I was thinking of adding Western and Touro-CA. Does anyone know anything about that school? It doesn't seem like a lot of people apply there? I am hoping my semi-uniqueness will help me....I was a Spanish major, and am fluent. I have worked in several free clinics as an interpreter, and I shadowed an interpreter in a big hospital. I definitely want to work with the hispanic population in the future, and that is basically what my app is centered around. I have a ton of teaching experience in Spanish and theatre, the normal hospital volunteering stuff, I was a volunteer EMT, and I have a lot of theatre/musical theatre related activities as I have always been really passionate about that. I have also done about a year of research, and I may be published in the near future. Do you think these EC's may help them look past my semi-horrible physical sciences/slightly lower sgpa?

you might wanna add some more of the newer schools with lower stats (mcat). other than that, we're all hoping your new mcat score is improved! good luck!

I just interviewed at Albany and I lovvvvved it but I am ready for a break (if you can call three days of not flying/interviewing a break). Ughhh. All I can say is that I hope I aced my Wednesday Genetics test because I think I studied a total of like 10 hours because of all these interview/flights/etc.

Last night I was stuck on the Philly runway for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Right when it started pouring was when they decided it would be a great time to take off, of course. I have never actually been nervous flying until that flight haha.

Thanks everybody! I'm definitely accepting their acceptance and withdrawing at a few schools, so hopefully that will clear some spaces up for you all! I think the provisional part is basically to say that you are accepted unless you do something stupid, like get a felony or fail out of undergrad or something... I don't have the official acceptance email yet, just what webstar is telling me.
 
Hey guys, I just submitted my secondaries for both LECOM campuses. LECOM Erie is my first choice so I was just wondering how long after submitting a secondary did most people hear word of an interview invite? I really hope I get an interview and soon I hope I'm so anxious to start interviewing and really getting this application cycle under way.

um yea I kind of wrote that without thinking it was just to express my nervous excitement... I was so excited about the invite I didn't think how saying I might throw up made no sense at all lol I forget sarcasm and exaggeration doesn't translate well on the internet.

I hope you're right man. I'm trying not to think about it(and my RVUCOM rejection today) too much, and am focusing on my NSUCOM interview next week. I REAAALLLYYY want to go there :xf:
 
got an email from Lecom-B today while driving and I freaked!!! So I pulled over to check the email all excited, and all it said was your application is under review! WTF, I got that email 2 weeks ago too! what a tease!

haha I hear ya. Bradenton calls for interviews though. Look out for a phone call from a 941 area code. 👍

I'm sitting in my hotel in Arizona, just went through some interview questions and prepped. Looking over my answers to secondary questions and such. Hopefully this one goes well, I love this school.

Thanks, will do. :laugh: I just went through all of the questions on the interview feedback. Got about 8 of them that I really have no answer to. They also ask some pretty damn personal questions. Should be interesting at least. Hopefully I don't get tripped up too bad. Guess this one may test my interview skills.

Hopefully my desire to attend comes through in the interview as well as my charming personality. :laugh: I'm wide awake right now though, wanted to be asleep around 10, not gonna happen at this rate.
