Does anyone know if there will be an other interview cycle? I mean if we don't hear from them about an interview during those February dates, does it mean we are rejected or do we still have a chance?

Still nuthin'...*sound of crickets chirping* 🙁

There was an email quite awhile back where they listed all the interview dates: one in December and this bunch in February. There were no others listed so my guess is no...

Hi everyone! So after days of stalking my mailbox I am losing hope for a Tufts letter...ah well. My last remaining hope is that the people in apartment B of my house are away and the mailman took all their mail away and put it on hold Tuesday and since Tuesday all I have recieved is a large USPS package... so maybe that letter is in with the B apartment mail....right....? I am being very optimistic...

Anyways, has anyone heard anything other than an invite? Any rejections? Is the Tufts status page changed for anyone (this one:https://grad.admissions.tufts.edu/app/login.aspx)?

I hate waiting!!

My status page has not changed one bit, and I got the letter on 12/26.

I wouldn't go on what it says...

Lame...these status pages are so misleading 🙂

Yeah...I heard through the grapevine that it's the first year they're trying it out, and it looks like it's through Tufts proper, not the vet school. I have no idea who actually updates it.

Maybe no news is still good news. But I had really hoped to have heard something...anything by now.

I read on the rejection letter thread today that Tufts has finished sending out all interview offers. Has anyone else heard this?😕

I recieved my letter on Monday the 12th... it was also postmarked on the 9th. I'm an in-state applicant, and will be interviewing on the 5th of Feb. AHHHH my roommate brought the letter in for me and I ripped it open and scanned quickly for the 'congratulations'. 😀😀😀
I was really nervous about this one...

:hello:Welcome and congrats--I'll be there on the 5th as well!

Hi everyone! First of all congrats to everyone who received and interview invitation!!! I have my interview on the 10th. I was curious as to whether or not anyone thinks that the date is significant? I mean I am so worried because I am on the 10th and there have been so many OOS acceptances from the Dec 19th interview based on the acceptances threads. I'm hoping that by the time the 10th rolls around that there will still be a chance to be offered a seat! Any thoughts on this?

I'm operating under the assumption that I'm not going to miraculously receive an interview at this point. Still, I think it's highly lame that they haven't at least sent an email rejection yet. Sheesh.

I called admissions today and they said the sent out the last round of letters. Sadly they are all rejections. I'm sorry, I'm in this group too.🙁

I'm interviewing on the 5th as well. Eek! So excited/so nervous! Any tips specific to Tufts people can offer up about interviewing?

Excellent! Thanks for the welcome Guppy, and look forward to potentially meeting you and cowyakkin... and others I probably missed. Also, spidermonkey, I really wouldn't read too much into having your interview on the 10th, don't let the accepteds from the December interview freak you out too much! There will be plenty more acceptances to come! We're all keeping our fingers crossed!

As for the interview itself, which I think cowyakkin mentioned, Tufts is open file, so they will ask you things about your application which should make things a bit easier. Also, they have a very interesting stance on animal usage for surgery practice and such so that would be a good thing to know about before going in, just in case they ask you a question about how you feel about using live animals for research/teaching.

Let's get excited!!
I actually had a nightmare about my Tufts interview last night haha so I'm trying to pump myself up again.

I had a great experience at the Tufts interview. Both of my interviewers were so genuinely kind and friendly, I didn't even feel like I was being evaluated. I don't even remember any questions that they asked because it was more a conversation about my interests than anything else. As with most vet school interviews, they always start out with "Tell us a little bit about yourself...", so be prepared for that. They will take what you give them and run with it (at least, thats what happened to me). It was more fun than anything!

Also, I liked how Tufts gave us handouts with information about each of our interviewers, so you have good sense about their interests and background before you go in.

I just received my rejection letter from Tufts. (I live in Southern California).

I am so bummed out. I really liked this school. Congrats on all the students that received an interview--your really lucky.

I'm so sorry, Pitbull Lover--the other day I found my rejection letter from Tufts from last year (rejected after interview), and it stung all over again. So I know how you feel, and it definitely sucks.🙁

It may be hard now, but do your best to stay positive. You're not alone, for sure. Are you still waiting to hear from other schools? If not--and you're reapplying to Tufts next year--keep in mind that "next year' is but a mere 6 months from now, as their new application will likely be up in early August. It really goes by fast, I've found. So do what you can, as soon as you can, to get yourself back in the running for next time--extra coursework, experience, GRE practice, whatever.

OK, change of subject: I love your avatar! Tell us about your dog--what a great photo! I'm a pittie fan, as we see many in the shelter where I work.😍

I applied to 17 schools this cycle. I'm still waiting to hear anything from Davis, UPEI, Wisconsin, Tennessee, UPenn, and Iowa. I was not part of the first rounds of Iowa interviews and I don't know if they are still interviewing. If no more interviews, then I know my answer.

I have been rejected from: Purdue, V-M regional, Colorado, Tufts, Mississippi, Cornell, Washington State, and I think Kansas. Their email was basically a no interview invite/rejection?

The Good News: I interviewed on 1/27 at Western and I have a Univ. of Minnesota interview on 2/20. I'm excited at the possibility of getting into vet school this year! Second time's a charm.

My wonderful dog named Finn is a 9 year old Pitbull that I rescued when he was 3 months. He had parvo; owners couldn't afford the cost and relinquished ownership to me.

Finn is the best pitbull I have ever met. He is truly an ambassador for the breed. He gets along with people, dogs, cats, birds, etc. I foster cats and dogs sometimes and he is our "nanny dog" because he looks after the little kittens. The avatar shows Finn hanging out with a 4-week kitten.

Good luck with Western, Minnesota, and the rest (sorry about Iowa, BTW)....:luck:

And Finn is indeed a cool dog. If only more people could see what great dogs Pits can be. It would certainly make my job a whole lot easier.

so, i just interviewed at tufts, and the place seems great. the only thing i'm worried about is the community. they don't seem as home-y as other places like cornell, partially because people there seem to be a little more "do-it-myself" and maybe b/c there's less opportunity to meet others? i guess i just wasn't given a tight-knit community impression amongst the students (i was with the faculty). the other thing is that with so many people married or engaged and stuff, i worry about if i'll be able to find a good group of friends that won't be hanging out w/their s/o, especially b/c i'll be adjusting from the college life. any thoughts? and last question... does anyone know when people hear back after interviews? i was looking at another thread and it seemed to vary from the next day to over a month later...

Does anybody know how long after this round of interviews Tufts will let applicants know their decisions? I know people found out relatively quickly after the December round of interviews. Mine's tomorrow 😀

If you ask me, the December interviews seem like the exception instead of the rule. People didn't find out last year until late Feb. to early March.

Hey, I think I'm one of the last interview dates so I'm sure everyone is up to date on when acceptance letters are going to be made. I had my interview today and was devastated to find out that they won't mail acceptances until MID-MARCH. Yeah.. if anyone heard something different on their date I would love to know.

At the end of my interview, I asked about acceptance notifications as well and was told that the Ad Comm would meet next week, then decisions would go out early in March. For at least the past 2 years, decisions were e-mailed the first Tues. of the month, with some early acceptances the week before. So I'm figuring that I'll be a stressbag all day 3/3.

Not sure if the "early" decisions in late Feb. will happen again this year, though, with the December invites & acceptances....At any rate, good luck!!!:luck:

Ahhh I'm in love with Tufts and these next few weeks of waiting will be PAINFUL!

I wouldn't worry about this, our class (as well as all the other classes as far as I know) are very tight knit. We all have our own close group of friends, but everyone knows everyone else.

I interviewed last week also, and I was told at the end of my interview that they'd be sending out acceptances first week in March... at least that's what I think she said haha it could have just been wishful thinking. I also am going to be away on a cruise that first week in March so just the thought is giving me a heart attack already! I'm also in love with the place and I think I might pass out when I get any letter before I even read it. She also told me the letters would come in small envelopes haha and to not let that freak me out.

My interview was also SUPER relaxed, it was actually quite enjoyable to just talk with them, but then that also made me nervous because they didn't really ask me any questions specifically... at the end of the interview I even asked if there was anything else they wanted to know about me. So of course over thinking it I keep thinking that it won't be enough and then I panic. I know you all must be going through the same thing 😛. So nerve wracking!!!

But yeah, let's cross all our fingers together. Oh. And one of the things one of my interviewers emphasized is just how close knit the whole community at Tufts is, faculty and students alike, and how great that is. He was very enthusiastic about it and said it sets Tufts apart. That might help with your concern a little prevet09 🙂.

yayyyy!!! thank you guys for your feedback! now if i get accepted to tufts ::crosses fingers::, i don't have many qualms about going. worcester seemed like a nice place to live in too, and i love the llamas guarding the sheep 🙂 even though i know it's not until march.. i keep checking my mailbox feverishly just in case...

Good to know we're all suffering together, haha! I'll be devastated if I don't get in... 🙁

Glad to read everyone's interviews were positive! Good luck everyone 👍

I can't wait till August 😀

A tidbit I was told is that Tufts is increasing their class size slightly this year (to about 90 students). Hope that makes everyone feel a little better!

the wait is driving me crazy!!! so earlier it said that letters were mailed out in march? or we'll be notified in march? does anyone know if it'll all be email, mail, or if we can just furiously and continuously check our status online?

I don't know how or when we'll be notified either, but I highly doubt it would be via the status tracker page! haha. I think the interviewees from December were complaining about that page.

So I did a search through some old threads this a.m. and saw that, for at least the past couple of years, the Ad Comms met the last Tuesday in Feb. (a.k.a. today!) and made their final decisions, with some people notified that week (through snail mail, from what I could gather) and the rest via e-mail the following Tues. I know that things have been a bit different this year, what with Dec. interviews and acceptances....

But I just have to ask: Anyone know anything about the acceptance timeline for this year???😱

Haven't started stalking the mail carrier just yet but wonder when I should.

I heard (not sure if this is valid info) that with the new online tracking system, they might email us saying that our decision has been made, with a link to the tracking page, followed by another link to the actual letter. I'm kind of hoping for a real snail mail letter though 😀 I also heard from somewhere that the letters are all small, so don't freak!

Is the status page different than the application page?

When I log in to my application there doesn't seem to be any status section.

Did everyone receive the financial aid online tracking system email today with Tufts student ID #? Haha, I'm probably freaking out and reading too much into it! I sent out my financial aid forms a few days ago.

yeah. I got one too.
They probably send it to all applicants who were granted interviews. 😛

I got one as well--and they do send them to all of us who interviewed. I also received it last year (rejected after interview). Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

But my heart skipped a beat when I saw "Tufts Student ID", even though I know better. Can't help it, I guess....

We're in the home stretch now, though & should hear soon! Good luck to everyone!!!:luck:

I just got an early acceptance invitation!!🙂 So excited! For anyone wondering (I saw some of these posts a little further up) the letter was small...just a regular size. It was very nice...my interviewers even signed the bottom of it with a little note.

I also talked to one of my friends who visited there today for the foal ICU volunteering and she said that she spoke to an admissions counselor and they had just made their final decisions. So look forward to letters SOON!!

Good luck everyone😍

I think I might barf. :barf:

tomorrow I'm going to ask my doctor to prescribe me xanax. Or maybe marijuana. I CAN"T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

Snail-mail, huh? Rats.
I was really hoping they would decide to use the email/status page route.
It took my interview invite 4 days to get to California!!! 🙄

Oh well, good luck everyone!!! :luck::luck::xf:

can you check to see if they updated your status page?? =D

Just checked, still hasn't been updated. Good luck to you 👍

Congrats Lckynmbrslefman!!! Hopefully some of us can join you soon.

That being said.... there is no hope for me concentrating on ANYTHING until I hear something from Tufts. UGH!

Does anyone know if Tufts only offers a seat to the exact number they have (ala Wisconsin) and puts the rest on a waiting list? Or do they offer more seats than they have knowing that some will not accept, especially the OOS ones?

If the latter, how many offers for the ~40 IS and ~40 OOS seats?
