I'm transferring to Davis... bio major... at least I'm *trying* to get in as a bio major (it's a "selective major" at that school). Anyone here go to Davis/been to Davis?

I've been to Davis and I'm transferring there as well next year from a CC. If you want to be guaranteed admission see if your school has a Transfer Agreement with Davis. Mine does and if you take the req classes you're guarantted a spot. That's what I'm doing just to make sure I get in. My major there will be Genetics.

BTW you can check www.assist.org for the required classes between your college and Davis.

Yep the good old TAA 🙂 that's what I'm going to do, too. What CC do you go to?

Went to Davis, graduated from Davis.. if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them by PMs or email. I was an NPB major (neurobiology, physiology and behavior).

NPB in the house! Have any classes with Liets, Bautista, Goldberg, Ishida, Adams?

Definitely take Adams' class, challenging but you learn alot. He is one of the best instructors that I have ever had. Bautista gives easy midterms and finals when he teaches gastro-physiology. Take it is you want an easy load during the fall.

Davis grad here; majored in Exercise Physio and did a quasi minor in NPB...

Took Goldberg, Ishida, and Adams (well Wm Adams in EXB at least); good stuff, no major porblem, red flags.

Also a JC transfer.

Took

Adams Endocrinology (NPB 130) - great class (love the color coded lectures)
Goldberg (NPB 192 and NPB 113
Leits (NPB 101L 104L and 111L)
Sillman and Weidner (NPB 101)

seriously if i dont get a secondary from Davis, I'm gonna be PISSED

Graduated from UCD also in Biochemistry. I took NPB 130 with Adams too in Fall of 2002. That was one of my favorite classes ever at UCD and made me wish I was a NPB major. I actually took 3 NPB classes for fun. NPB 100, NPB 130 and NPB 168. Those were all good classes except 168 with Wooley was a bit different, shall I say. Anyhow, I'd be happy to answer any questions for anyone now that I am done with my application cycle.

College of the Siskiyous in WEED, CA lol. Which one do you go to?

Los Medanos College in Pittsburg. Great EMT program I hear, by the way (I'm starting it in the fall).

Good luck with the EMT program. Mine is mostly known for Firefighter Academy. I'll be doing my EMT-B this fall as well.

I am also a UCD grad in Biochem, class of 2005, and worked as a peer advisor in the Bio Sci Dean's Office for 3 years so you can PM if you have any questions about transfer requirements or changing majors. Biology is actually not an impacted major and is relatively easy to get into if you meet the minimum requirements. Good Luck at Davis
