UCLA Final Decisions 2005!!

I kind of feel like april 15th might be a drop dead date. That doesnt mean it cant be earlier. Its been over a month since the last batch of acceptances. so I feel any day now we could be seeing status changes. and there's only 7 business days until then anyways.derf said:yep, i'll called today and the lady said april 15 for the next batch. that is a friday.
The best time to check your status page is probably between 2-3 pm since that is around the time last few batches were updated to the website.

Yeah. I just called too. The lady mumbled something about the committee meeting mid April and making decisions between then and the end of the month. Arggghhh. More waiting.

Wow. My heart was beating so fast while I was logging on to check my status page. And now that I see that a final decision letter was sent... its beating even faster. Aaaaaauggggh. Dang, I'm almost even hyperventilating. How long did it take most people to hear back once their status page changed?

something funny just happened and i thought some of you would appreciate the humor in it. so i was telling my boyfriend about my "theory" on what this date thing means on my status page and yada yada and he responds totally calmly, "hun, i hope you know that you have OCD on this issue". pretty funny. 😀 it is nice to have someone to keep me semi-grounded in real life.
my status page DID NOT change. So what's new!!! I just sent in a letter of update last week so maybe they postponed my decision for further review.btowngirl said:

if this is like the march 4/7 update then that would make sense. Acceptances were loaded first and with back date of march 4th while the rejects/waitlists were loaded the next morning or the same day but with a status change date of march 7th. However, both letters were received at about the same time suggesting they were also sent out at the same time.derf said:

i've been checking my status page many times this morning until i gave up....turned off the internet, drove back to OC from LA...ate....watched TV... then tonight, when i logged back in SDN....going through this thread...my heart starts beating faster and faster....omg, .."letter sent" on 04/05 as well even though today is 04/07...i wonder!!...(i interviewed on St. Patrick's day )
ahhhhhh...this gonna kill me ...i'll be out of town this weekend until next Wed...ahhhhh...i really want to open the letter myself but i know my parents would do it b4 me....keep my fingers crossed for now...good luck to everyone who's waiting for the letter as well

i think westwood/la pple should receive their letter friday or the latest Sat.... for my interview invitation letter, it updated on Fri and i got mine on Tues...
does anyone know how often the committee meets
i called the admissions office and was told that i had been put on hold. pretty much no chance of getting in. she said that first they will exhaust the alternate list and if that happens, then they will pick from this group. so i dont know if this is 3rd tier alternate list or what.

Also, the woman on the phone told you you're status?!! They are notorious for being unwillingly to tell applicants any information over the phone.
All other applicants who had the 4/5 status change you better call the office fast before this nice secretary lady leaves.

Hold - Ranked wailtist, only selected if original waitlist is exhausted, I guess

i am pretty sad right now. i am glad to know the answer but i dont see how it possibly took them this long to decide whether to reject me or put me in the pile one above outright rejection. i am obviously not a good interviewer and it doesnt help to interview with the most boring physician in the world who just typed on his laptop what i was saying and provided no feedback and ate his lunch. but i am just very bitter and sad right now.
I wouldnt be surprised if they muck me up like they did you. We had such similar interview experiences and similar numbers. I think the only thing that has spared me their knife so far has been my LOI. Without this I am sure I would already have been given the reject/hold sentence.btowngirl said:

so i guess this is turning into another 'kiss of death' batch. That makes 3 in a row - march 7, march 15, april 5. Maybe what the adcom is doing is trying to narrow down the pool until they can send a last huge accept batch. just speculation.
