I know the schedule :
http://www.cop.ufl.edu/studaff/f10/1pdg.pdf
looks tough. But let me clarify some things for you.
ALL UF COP students, St. Pete, Apopka, and Jville included, will receive the SAME large lectures as Gville. They will be recorded and you will watch them once they get posted up online. As far as I remember, this includes classes like: Fund Med Chem/Dosage Forms, PBD, and Biochem. Intro to pharmaceutics changes so much, so I'm not sure. Again, any of this may be different than when I took it 2+ yrs ago, but for the most part, not really. The professors who taught it then are still at the college next year.
If you are a Gville student, you have the luxury of either watching the classes live (where you will not fall asleep, go play on facebook, and have the opportunity to ask profs questions) OR you can also watch it online like the other students. I have attended every lecture live unless it was pre-recorded. I recommend this. There will only be 4 students in class at times. But I actually liked that.
Once a week in PBD, you will have a quiz and you have to come in for that.
Practicum does NOT span the whole week, it is only once a week and you will know what day you have once the lists are handed out by your professor or you sign up for a section.
Practicum OFF campus means just that. It is not from 3-4:55, nor does it span the whole week. You will have to 2 or 3 off campus projects the entire semester, like BP screenings at Publix, for example, and that's what that covers.
The orange "Student Organization" period is the one time that all classes of students have a free period, so all organizations meet then (such as Academy of Student Pharmacists, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, Florida Systems Health Pharmacists, etc...). It is not mandatory for you to be in an organization, so you do not have to be on campus then.
So when you look at it, if you want to stay home and watch lectures, your schedule would be like this: (assuming your quiz for PBD is on Monday, you have to attend Intro to pharmaceutics, and your practicum is on Tuesday)
M: Pd 3, 5
T: Pd 7,8
W: Pd 5
Th: Either Pd 2,3 OR Pd 4,5
F: Pd 5
Honestly though, I doubt Intro to Pharmaceutics attendance is mandatory, so if there is no Pd 5, then you don't have to go to class W and F.
So you see, it is not 8-5. I only stayed on campus for classes from 8-5 on a regular basis only once in my past 3 years there. Usually it's from 830-1, and even then, you are tired after that.
Well, I hope that cleared some questions up about your scheduling. Or maybe confused you more... lol. It'll make sense after week 1 and 2.
