Does anyone think ANY acceptances will be sent out prior to May 15? I just want to know something - interviewed back in Decemeber and am still in suspense.

Doesn't sound like anymore straight acceptances are going to be sent out at all, never mind before May 15th. From past history plus what people are saying here, those accepted after this point will be from the waitlist. At least that is the impression I get, but this does not come from any source within UMASS...

Anybody heard anything this week? Waitlists? Acceptances? Rejections? Or is this silence indicative of a lack of activity? Also, would people who are viewing these posts, but not posting themselves mind just posting their status (especially if you have received waitlist spots)? It really helps to get a better picture of what is going on, and you can do it completely anonymously (if that is your concern).

I am a wishin and a hope'n that the silence is golden, and we can all get waitlisted this week, then accepted off of it the next.

good freakin lord is this a slow agonizing process.

If, no, When I reapply I am definatly getting it done in june as opposed to november, that was DUMB.

LOL! I'm relieved to not be alone in that!! I was a little worried writing that one!! Maybe we should start a Hate UMass thread...!! Just kidding.

I just don't think calling them does any good because they don't really tell you anything. I don't think calling will do anything to hurt or improve your chances, though. Especially if you use someone else's name...

I had been feeling very confident after my interview, but the longer I wait the more disheartened I become. Im definitely assuming that there are no more straight-up acceptances going out.... waitlist or bust.

if you could be clear, did she seem to imply that we could be waitlisted or rejected up untill the 15th?

IE they may not have there waitlist ready untill a week from now?

I guess that would be good news.

Anyone up for some BBQ in june, come hell or high water? especially for those of us who will re-apply it could be a cathartic time, and we could collectively try and make stronger applications!

If i don't try and think positively, (within the bounds of reason) I would be waisting a beautiful day on angst borne of circumstantial evidence.

yeah it didn't really fit me, not that a rifle wielding marine is me either but i just read jarhead. If anything i should have been jeff from curb your enthusiasm.

I spent about an hour at work fitting that picture down to the right requirements. it came out well i think.

anywho.... I'm going to med school!!! woooo hoooo. I just got into College of osteopathic medicine of the pacific, pomona, CA. Its not UMASS, but its better than nothin!

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS! takes a little bit of pressure off, eh? although Cali is pretty far away from Mass (I was tempted to write "wicked" far away from Mass, but I refrained).

DO schools are a good option. I didn't want to have to apply again so i went with both. my DO apps were real late so i'm lucky to have gotten into one. I'm waitlisted at UNE.

Thanks - I had a picture in mind way back when I joined - but now I can't remember what it was..... when I find it I'll give the paint program a try. You will probably be in California by then!! I will be awaiting my scores from tomorrow's test, and probably getting ready to reapply (thanks UMass - I'll be sure not to take any of your graduates when I'm in charge of some big residency program somewhere!!! )

Congratulations though - you should be really happy! You'll have a really neat, diverse bunch of classmates if that's where you end up going! I salute your persistence 👍

Ok, here's a question for those who have received waitlist letters: Does it say anything about where you are on the waitlist? priority? does it give any hints about your odds? I know that someone posted on this thread earlier that LAST year someone got on the waitlist on April 27th and ended up getting in....

Unfortunately, the letter doesn't give very much information other than "you are on the waitlist". I called the school and the admissions office said that their waitlist is un-ranked and everyone would be considered when a position becomes available. I am not sure if I 100% believe that, but it seems like we are not going to get any more information out of them.

To be honest, I am not sure how many people have been waitlisted. I was on the waitlist twice before and never came off. Be prepared to go either way. Best of luck and stick with it! It will all work out.

I don't know, but I'm still waiting to hear from my September interview, so either I'm rejected, in which case, why can't they tell me as soon as they make the decision? Or, they really do need 8 months to figure out what to do with me.
