I have been calling the admissions office for about 2.5 months now and they keep giving me the same run-around....."our adcom has reviewed your application but has not made a formal decision" wtf?!? Give me an interview or reject me! They say they are gonna interview until may, I call bull****. Anyone have any idea whats up? 🙄

I have had the same experience with SOM... they said that they will be sending out rejections in a few weeks... I am not sure what they are waiting for... SOM people are too nice and give people too much hope... I am expecting a rejection from them.. good luck!

Yeah, I've been getting the same response as well. I talked to them today and they told me they are interviewing through May, however my application status has not changed and the committee is only meeting once more in the second week of May. So I'm not expecting much... :-(

Slow down, tough guy. If you apply late (which appears to be the case), then you need to be an awesome candidate. If not, beggers can't be choosers. Not to sound cold, but that's the truth. You never know when and how you are gonna be invited to an interview at SOM or when you might be accepted. It's a VERY weird time of the year for med school admissions. I know all of the people there very well and I used to be on the adcomm at SOM... if you call or even better visit SOM and play nice, its only to your advantage. You might just get what you want. Otherwise, no need to be pissy - that will get you nowhere.

UMDNJ-SOM has completely given me the run-around as well, but to be fair, I did apply late in the game. So it looks like no interview for me after calling for a few months and being told every time that I'm still under review. all this was after they unexpectedly waived my application fee, not due to financial need, but because they said that they do that for promising applicants.

So either they just didn't like me that much upon closer inspection, or time and space in the class simply ran out. it's extremely frustrating and disappointing, 'cause there's nowhere I'd rather be than home in Jersey, but I guess I'm a jackass for applying late... *sigh* whaddya gonna do?

Got my rejection letter this saturday, and I have never been so relieved. Thanks for the false hopes, I hope they spend my application fee on something useful. 😉
